Stay With Me

Chapter Six - Last Fall

"I think it's time to leave." Finn said, standing up from her spot on the log.
I did the same, stretching my arms and legs. It had felt like we had been sitting there for ever. I took a peak at the time, and laughed. Yeah, we basically had.
There was only a few people left and they were all gathered around the bonfire drinks still in hand. They wouldn't be leaving anytime soon.
Finn reached for my hand and towed me towards the truck. I stumbled a bit. It was nothing, I was just sore from sitting.
I got behind the wheel turned the engine on. Music started playing.
Finn slid in beside me and leaned her head against my shoulder. I gave her a light kiss on the top of her head, and put the car in drive.
A new song came on and Finn began to sing. Her voice filled up the tiny cab and floated in the air around us. I loved her voice. I loved her.
I glanced over at her, and she had her eyes closed. She was swaying her body to the rhythm. I couldn't help but smile.
"I love you." I said.
She opened her eyes.
"I love you more." She replied, turning to face the road.
Then there was a scream.
"Katia look out!"
