Meet and Greet

The boys had all left to return to their proper homes to prepare for the night ahead. Zayn tagged along with the boys, getting the feeling the girls might want time to chit chat. Avery and Perrie began cleaning the apartment, though there wasn't a huge amount of people coming, it was enough to cause Perrie a little anxiety. She silently thanked God that Avery was here to tell her to relax.

Avery wiped a rag aimlessly over the kitchen counter, more like pretending to clean then actually making progress. Avery absolutely hated cleaning. She sighed and pulled off her sweater and tossed it on to the kitchen table.

"Woah!" Perrie exclaimed, staring at her. "I don't know whether I'm more shocked that you have half a sleeve tattoo or that you just threw your 1000 dollar sweater onto the table I'm trying to clean." Perrie crossed her arms, staring at Avery.

"You didn't know about the tattoos? Sorry." Avery chuckled. "I have quite a few."

"Clearly. What a bad ass." Perrie chuckled, smiling at her friend.

"Too bad ass for you and your lot." Avery joked, winking at her.

"Nah, watch out for Harry. He's a flirt."

"So I've heard."

"I'm sure the tattoos will send him over the edge."

"I'll make sure I watch out." Avery laughed, placing her thrown sweater on the back of the chair instead of haphazardly on the table.

"I'm really happy you're here, Ave."

"I'm thrilled beyond belief, you have no idea." Avery confessed, smiling widely.

"How's the boyfriend?" Perrie asked hesitantly, because Avery hadn't mentioned Roy since she got here.

"Oh you know, shagging some girl named Lucy in L.A." Avery said casually, if it hurt her it didn't show. But, Perrie knew, Avery's feelings were never worn on her face.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't..." Perrie trailed off, looking down.

"Don't fret, it's all good. I'm fine. You know I handle break ups exceptionally well. Had a good fling with a young pup that works for me and moved on." Avery explained, sitting down on the chair.
Perrie followed in suit and sat down across from her.

"Young pup? You're only 21, how young is he?!" Perrie exclaimed, her eyes wider than usual.

"Calm down, he's 18." Avery chuckled at her friend's overreaction. Perrie was pretty good at over reacting.

"I like Zayn," Avery said, knowing Perrie wanted to know. Perrie let out a slight sigh of relief. Avery could read Perrie like a book, she knew she wanted her opinion since the second Zayn and Avery shook hands.

"Good, that makes me happy." Perrie smiled.

"He seems like he's got his shit together. If you would have shacked up with one of those other bums in that lot I might have been a bit concerned." Avery admitted, running a hand through her stick straight hair.

"I couldn't handle them." Perrie chuckled.

"Do they all have girlfriends?" Avery asked, purely out of curiousity, but of course Perrie had other ideas.

"Why who do you think is cute? I mean, you're obviously gorgeous so they all probably think you're cute. That'd be so fun, we could go to all their shows together and-"

"Perrie, shut up. I'm just curious. I barely even looked at any of them." Avery cut her off, smirking.

"Oh...okay." Perrie said, slightly disappointed.

"And I can go to shows and things with you anyway, I don't need to date any of them to do that."

"That's true." Perrie agreed. "Well, Harry and Niall are officially single. Liam has a girl, she's never around though. And Louis has a girlfriend, but honestly, I don't think it'll last much longer. They've been on the rocks."

"That's too bad." Avery said, not because she knew him personally but she knew most people had a hard time with break ups. She was not one of those people.

"We should probably get dressed and ready." Perrie continued, standing up and straightening out her clothes. "Did you bring something cute to party in?"

Avery looked at her incredulously. "You're speaking to a professional stylist. I brought about 10 different party outfits."

"Right, dumb question. Let's go!" The girls made their way upstairs for party prep.

Meanwhile, the boys had all gathered at Harry's flat. Anyone who knows Harry knows he had taken notice of how stunning Perrie's friend was, and he was excited to try his tricks with her tonight.

"Do you think she likes me?" Zayn asked, "I want Perrie to be happy."

"I'm sure she likes you just fine, Zayn." Louis chuckled, shuffling through some clothes of Harry's.

"She's mighty fit though, yeah?" Harry spoke from his bed which he had sprawled out on.

"Oh come off it. Don't even start." Zayn chuckled, he figured Harry would say something like that though.

"Can't blame him Zayn, she was a looker." Liam chuckled. "Not that I was looking.

Harry rolled his eyes. "A looker? She was an easy 9, maybe a 9.5."

"Are you grading her?" Louis chuckled, finally deciding on a jacket he was planning on borrowing.

"Yes. Yes I am." Harry smirked.

"She was very pretty." Niall peeped up, and the four other boys looked at him. Niall never really commented on girls, he didn't seem to notice if the girl in front of him was a super model or a hobo, he was nice to them all the same. Personality was his selling point.

"Dibs!" Harry shouted, sitting up in bed. Niall chuckled and waved him off.

"I'm not going to bother, really. I don't even know her so if you're already calling dibs, she's yours." Niall laughed, Harry was anxious to push his luck with any girl, and one that beautiful and put together was just his type of challenge.

"Ay, Zayn, what does she even do?" Liam asked, wondering what all the hype about her was about anyway.

"She lives in L.A. She's a stylist, for celebrities. Does amazingly well for herself so Perrie says."

"Oh, a wealthy girl, even better." Harry mused. You could almost hear the rest of them roll their eyes.

"You act like you don't make a good living on your own." Niall joked.

"Well, let's go lads, I'm ready to talk to that girl." Harry jumped off his bed and headed out the door without listening to any of the other guys.

"How do I look?" Perrie asked Ave, though it made her slightly nervous to do so. But can you blame her? Avery dresses people for a living.

"Stunning, seriously. Love that color, it's in right now." Avery assessed her quickly. Avery knew very quickly what she liked and didn't like, and that wasn't just clothes, but everything. Perrie was happy that Avery liked the purple military dress she picked out. Perrie looked Avery up and down. Avery always had been riskier with her clothing, it was all or nothing with her. A lot of skin showing, or a very loud piece. Avery had her own thing going on and Perrie loved her for it. Avery had decided on a beige crop top with some embellishments on the top and high wasted leather shorts that looked painted on.

"I love that you can be a trollop but so fashionable at the same time." Perrie complimented. Avery beamed.

"That's my thing." She said proudly.

"Ay, we're home!" Zayn called, and Perrie smiled immediately. That was just her reaction to him. Avery noticed and couldn't help but smile too.

"Hey, Avery, cut the boys some slack tonight," Perrie commented as they were about to leave the room she shared with Zayn.

Avery raised a sculpted eyebrow at her, "What do you mean?"

"Ave, let's not play dumb. You're a maneater." Perrie chuckled, Avery joined in quickly.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll be good." Avery waved her off and followed her down the stairs.

Zayn met them at the bottom of the stairs and planted a kiss on Perrie's lips, she could feel her cheeks heat up from the public display of affection.

"You look perfect." He purred lowly in her ear, so no one else could hear. She blushed even harder.

"Enough, love birds, you're blocking the stairs." Avery commented from behind them, and Zayn led Perrie into the kitchen. A few people had came with the guys, everyone talking amongst themselves. Perrie was soon swept into the roll of hostess, along with Zayn, and Ave was left to lean against a wall in the living room and observe.

When Harry had felt he'd been at the party long enough to not seem like he was chomping at the bit to talk to Avery, he sauntered his way over to the girl. She had saw him coming, and had saw him sneaking glances at her since she walked down the stairs, so she figured sooner or later she'd be getting to know him. Looked like it would be sooner.

"You look...fantastic." Harry complimented, though to be blunt, sexy would have been the word he would have chose. He hand on the wall by her shoulder and leaned on it for support. She chuckled.

"Thanks, you look good yourself." She complimented, genuinely. I mean, any girl would think he's attractive, and she was no exception. He left the top few buttons of his shirt unbuttoned and noticed the tattoos.

"How long have you known Perrie?" Harry asked, though to be honest he didn't really care. But he knew better than to be disrespectful right off the bat.

"Since I was 15. I had to move to the US with my family then." She explained, though it was evident in her voice which barely had any traces of a british accent anymore.

"You sound like a straight up American." He chuckled, tilting his head lightly to the side.

She laughed. "That's what six years does to you."

"Do you like it there?"

"Love it." She answered shortly.

"Let me get you a drink." He smiled, locking eyes with her.

"I won't ever turn down alcohol." She winked, walking towards the kitchen. Harry grinned and followed her in. He couldn't help but notice the way she commanded a room, when she entered the kitchen. The females there looked intimidated. The men looked enamoured. He chuckled and thought that if he was smart he would know he was in over his head. But he didn't care, when did that ever stop him?

She stopped at the counter with the booze spread out, and Harry joined her at her side.

"What do you like?"

"Tequila," She answered, smirking. "Or vodka. Doesn't matter."

"What do you want it with?" He asked, grabbing a bottle of tequila and a typical red cup.

"What?" She raised an eyebrow at him, the smirk never leaving her face. He locked eyes with her evergreen ones, and repeated himself.

"I don't need it mixed with anything. Just fill that glass up half way."

"You're just going to drink it? No chaser or anything?" Harry looked amused, looking at the short girl in front of him. She'd be smashed in no time.

"Oh, cute. You still use chasers? Are you in high school?" She teased playfully, grabbing the bottle and cup from him, their fingers grazing lightly. Harry raised an eyebrow.

"I can handle my liquor any which way, but you'll be plowed." He retorted, watching her poor her drink.

She rolled her eyes and took a swig of the drink. Harry waited for the reaction; a squint or a flinch or anything. But she stared him down.
She took another hearty swig and then smiled brightly. She leaned towards him, and popped up on her toes to match his height.

"Your turn." She whispered, a few inches from his ear. He looked down at her with an eyebrow raised, she was certainly not what he was expecting. And that made it all the more fun.

He grabbed the cup from her and grabbed a swig, using all of his power to not make a face at the burning liquid. He succeeded, but his throat was screaming.

"I'm impressed." She complimented, taking her cup back. "But get your own."

The two spent the next hour or so talking aimlessly and flirting, while getting happily drunk. They vibed well together, but it didn't mean anything to Avery, she could vibe with anyone if she tried hard enough. She did have to admit though, that she liked the boy. He had eyes to kill for, a cheeky smile and a sense of danger to him that she was drawn too.
He didn't quite get her. She was sexy, and almost, dare he say, slutty, but it wasn't obvious. She was put together, her clothes clearly said that she took care of herself and that she had money. Which, he didn't know if that was her showing off or her loving her profession. She kept him guessing, one minute she was giving him the cold shoulder and the next she'd brush her hand against his or return his flirting attempts. He just couldn't wrap his head around her. Which of course, to Harry, was just the reason to keep trying.

The two had returned to the wall they had been at, and talked for a few more moments before being interrupted.

"Harry, you've spent all night talking to this girl, come socialize!" A young man, about 20 called from the other side of the room. Harry rolled his eyes and chuckled, he knew this kid from high school.

"Go, I can survive without you." Avery's voice rang in his ear, and he looked down at her. That was the other thing he noticed, her voice. It was a little lower than you'd expect looking at her, not bad though. But it was slightly raspy, almost like she was always using her 'bedroom voice', if you will. He wasn't complaining.

"Are you sure, who's going to take care of you when you start falling over from the tequila?" He teased, locking eyes with her again.

She pulled on the hem of her shorts, which hugged her curvy hips perfectly.

"I'm sure there's a lad here that'd love to take care of me." She smirked at him, raising her eyebrow lightly. Harry thought that was an interesting thing to say to someone she'd been flirting with for the better half of the night.

"None as attractive as me." Harry quipped, sending her a toothy grin.

"Come off it." She chuckled. "Go on, go see your boyfriends."

He chuckled and reluctantly pulled away from her and walked towards his friends. He knew when he left her side another boy would be trying his luck, and Harry didn't care. It was just about the chase anyway.

Avery side and finished off the glass of tequila she'd been drinking. She could feel it hitting her and she decided some fresh air would be nice. She figured being a slob on her first night here wasn't the best impression.

She walked out through the kitchen and out to the back patio and it was empty except for two boys leaning on the railing looking out over the yard.

Once they heard the door they both turned around and she recognized them as Louis and Niall. She grinned at them.

"Hey guys." She greeted, stepping up to the railing as well, sandwhiching Louis in the middle.

"Hey Avery. Are you enjoying yourself?" Louis asked sweetly. Avery got a good vibe from him, he seemed young at heart and very kind.

"Yes, very much so. Your buddy Harry is very...welcoming." She chuckled.

"He wastes no time, does he?" Louis chuckled looking at Niall, who nodded in agreement.

Just then, Louis phone began to ring, and he pulled it out of his pocket.

"Shit," He said under his breath.

"The woman?" Niall chuckled, his Irish accent grabbing Avery's attention.

"Yeah, sorry, I gotta take this." Louis said before putting his phone to his ear and rushing back inside.

"He'll be in a rotten mood all night now I bet." Niall continued, looking over at Avery who was already staring at him.

"What? Why are you lookin' at me like I've got two heads?" He questioned, pulling his eyebrows together.

"That accent..." She mused.

"Yes, it's Irish." He chuckled, confused at her reaction.

"No shit, I know that." She retorted, grinning. "It's just..."

Niall waited for her to finish, staring at her.

"It's hot." She finished blatantly, nodding encouragingly.

He raised his eyebrows. That wasn't really what he was expecting. A blush crept up his cheeks, but it went unnoticed in the dim light of night. Avery smirked at him and he returned it, unsure of what to say.

They created small talk for about 20 minutes, and they got off real well. She was very sweet to him, and he to her. Every once in a while she'd do something that was overtly sexy to Niall, and he couldn't figure it out. He never saw women who got to him so quickly. And her voice, god her voice. It was slow, deliberate, like she knew whoever she was talking to would hold on to every word she said. Like she never did something without purpose.

Avery thought Niall was cute, like a puppy or nice pair of kitten heels. But his voice definitely got to her, ironically enough. Who doesn't love a good Irish accent?

Harry had recanted practically every word Avery said to him to Perrie and Zayn, and Perrie just giggled the whole time. Avery had too completely different sides to her and apparently her sexy side had come out to play tonight with Harry. Last time Perrie saw, Avery was currently chatting it up with Niall, and they had both looked pleasant and smiley.

Avery was like a coin, flip it and take a chance because you never know what side you'll get.
