Sequel: Over Again

More Than This

39

Today was the day. I got up bright and early, detangling myself from Harry’s limbs as he groaned and begrudgingly got up, knowing it wasn’t worth a fight today.

Liam, Louis, Zayn, Niall, El, Perrie, and Alanna were all at this secret location that I still had no clue about, and I told Sophia I wanted to show Harry around today and needed her help.

So, with that, we went and got Sophia from her room and got into an awaiting car that would take us to our destination.

When we pulled up, I tried to mask my surprised grin, but I really wanted to cry.

We pulled up to the farm just outside where we grew up that Sophia and I used to ride horses on with our dad, the best times of our childhood.

I seriously fought back tears. That Liam Payne was a sap.

“We’re showing Harry the farm?” Sophia asked, raising an eyebrow as we left the car.

“Uhm, yeah.” I bit my lip. “It’s important to us, so.”

My sister grinned as we walked farther back on the lot.

Just then, Niall came walking up to us and handed Sophia a bouquet of flowers.

She raised an eyebrow, but he just kissed her on the top of the head and motioned for us to keep walking.

I was grinning and Sophia looked at me, I just shrugged as we came to Louis, who handed her a pair of heels, kissing her on the cheek.

I laughed as Zayn came up to us, handing Sophia her dress.

Her eyes widened in realization at this, and tears formed in her eyes as El, Perrie, and Alanna appeared, already standing in their dresses.

Sophia looked at me again and I couldn’t help but get emotional.

Liam stood there, facing us, a grin on his face.

“Sophia, I don’t want to wait. I want you to marry me right now. Today. In front of these people we love and that’s it. Will you have me forever?”

Sophia approached him, pretty well sobbing at this point, and kissed him on the lips.

“Of course I will, you idiot.” She replied.

We all erupted into cheers as I pulled Sophia away from Liam.

“We’ve gotta go get you ready.” I said, pulling her toward the small house attached to the farm.

I saw where the girls had set up a place to get her ready, and sat my sister down.

“I hate that you were all in on this.” She said. “A little warning would’ve been nice.”

I laughed and kissed the top of her head, grabbing my dress and pulling it over my head.

Then, we dressed Sophia in her dress and did her makeup quickly.

When we were finished, I looked at my sister in the mirror.

“Are you ready to get married?” I asked her. She grinned.

“I’ve never been more ready.” She replied, taking my hand.

Each of the girls walked out first, and then I looped my arm through Sophia’s and we walked down the makeshift aisle together. Just like we had always done everything. Together.

Liam was already crying at the end of the aisle with the boys, and they also were all barely keeping it together.

I locked eyes with Harry and stuck my tongue out at him. He held back a laugh.

I kissed my sister’s cheek and gave her away to Liam, who grinned and they faced the officiate… Paul. I laughed at this.

“Hey, you guys, I got certified to do this just for you guys, so you know I love you.” He started and we all laughed.

“Okay, we are gathered here today, to join Liam and Sophia in marriage. Now, Liam had time to prepare vows, since he knew this was coming, but Sophia, you did not. Sorry about that.” He laughed. “But go ahead, Liam.”

Liam turned to Sophia and started talking.

“Sophia, I love you more than anything in the whole world. This is going to sound so corny, but I knew it from the second I looked at you in that stupid little bar we met in. You’ve always brought out the best in me, you’ve been by my side through so much, and you are always there to knock me down a peg if I need it. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, I’ve known I’ve wanted to marry you for so long now. I know it’s under unusual circumstances, but hey, everything about our lives has been unusual, so why stop now? I love you, Sophia, and I can’t wait to call you my wife.”

It was safe to say at this point that there were no dry eyes among us. Even Paul was crying as he turned to Sophia.

“Okay, Soph, try to top that.” He joked lightly through his tears.

My sister was crying so hard that Liam had to wipe tears from her eyes before she could continue.
“Liam, I love you more than you could possibly even know. Everything about you still makes me weak in the knees, and the fact that you surprised me with a wedding today? You’re a romantic idiot, but I love it so much. Did I think when I was younger that I’d be marrying and starting a family this early in life? No, probably not. Did I know when I was young that I wanted to marry someone like you? Absolutely. You are the perfect man for me, you keep me grounded, you deal with my crazy life and take it in stride, and I love every single moment of our crazy adventure that we have together. I can’t wait to be your wife and be a mother to your child. You amaze me every day of my life.”

Liam was crying as Sophia brought her thumb up to brush his tears away, and Paul asked for the rings. Harry, being the closest to Liam, handed them to him.

As Liam and Sophia put the rings on each other’s fingers, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. They made it. They were getting married.

“By the power invested in me by the internet, I now pronounce you man and wife. Kiss her, Liam.”

I grinned even wider and Liam pulled my sister in for a kiss.

Did I imagine when I went to stay with my sister that I would be witnessing her marriage a short period of time after I got there? No. Did I imagine that I would fall in love along the way? Not a chance.

Did I imagine that I would find my sister in a happier life and find a happier life for myself along the way? Absolutely.

As my friends, no, my family, erupted into cheers, I knew I had done just that.

Okay, anyway, that's the end of this story, but the sequel will be up and running very very very soon, and I'm stoked about it, honestly, Drama central.
So, if you're interested, that will be linked to this shortly.
