Chapter 4

Still Miss B's POV

I woke up in a hospital gown.
My vision was slightly hazy, and my whole body was sore.
Looking upward at the fully body mirror on the ceiling, I looked horrible.
My face black and blue all over, and I had cuts with stitches and bandages, everywhere.
" Hey sleepy head " A calming voice said from the doorway.
My head jerked up, and I looked over at the curtain, where Eric, Amy, and one of the doctors stood.
" I couldn't of slept that long " I smiled.
" A little over a day, you have " Amy laughed.
I was surprised, but grateful, she was here.
Eric walked over and kissed me lightly " I love you " He whispered.
" I love you too " I whispered back.
" I'll give you guys and the doctor a minute " Amy smiled, blew me a kiss, and left the room.
" So, Miss Baylor- " I cut the doctor off as she began " Amber. Call me Amber "
" Amber. Ok. A beautiful name that is " The doctor smiled and I returned the smile.
" Anyway, I see you are 6 weeks pregnant, and don't worry, the baby is fine " The doctor began talking.
" Whoa, whoa whoa, pregnant? " Eric asked me, confused.
" Yes, I just found out yesterday " I cried.
" Oh my god " Eric pulled his fingers through his hair " My baby? "
I nodded and cried.
" You didn't know? " The doctor asked us.
" I didn't but Amber just did " Eric looked toward her.
" Was that the cause of the beating? " Eric turned back toward me.
I nodded again and wiped tears away.
" Since you kinda just found ur gonna be parents, first time right? " the doctor was about to leave.
Eric nodded at her.
" I'll give you guys a few minutes " She left.
We sat in silence for a couple minutes.
" So... Your pregnant " Eric was the first to bring up the baby.
" I'm sorry, we should've been more cautious of that " I finally was sure I didn't start crying.
" Then this is the time too talk about what's gonna happen " Eric held my hand and asked me what I wanted to do.
" Is abortion murder? " I whimpered.
" I don't know " he sighed.
" I'd feel so guilty, like a killer " I took a Kleenex and wiped my watery eyes.
" Adoption? " Eric whispered weakly, knowing id cry.
" No! Never again " I immediately said " Maybe.... Are we ready this time to be parents?"
" I am 28 already, and your 27.... And we are sure we want to be together " Eric thought aloud " Let's have this baby "
I smiled and he leaned over and kissed me.
But I had one thought still on my mind. Carter.
If he even suspects I'm still pregnant, I'm gonna get murdered.

Back to Lacy's POV, back to December

After she told her story, I was in complete shock.
Everything about it, insane.
" I gotta go " I gasped, picked up my bag, and walked to the door.
I put my hand on the knob and sighed, turning back toward her.
She still had tears in her eyes.
" I didn't think I'd ever be scrubbing my own blood off the bathroom walls, floor, bathtub, and mirror " She sniffled " My blood was everywhere, it finally all scrubbed off... Except my bloody handprint on the mirror.... It just wouldn't come off " She cried.
I cringed in sadness and left.

" Lace! Lace! " Kendra screamed at me.
" Oh my god what's wrong? " I ran to her.
Jane, Chloe, Haley, and Nikki, all came running behind.
Jane and Haley were crying.
" Guys, I really don't need anymore sadness- " Haley cut me off " I'm adopted "
" What? " I asked in shock.
" That can't be a coincidence " I yelled in shock.
" It's only odd because you guys are friends... There has to be something to this " Chloe scratched her head.
I wiped sweat from my forehead and walked passed them.
" You ok? " Kendra asked after a couple seconds to process.
" You know it's not really that bad to be adopted " I explained.
" I know... But it was a complete shock " Jane jumped in.
" At least she isn't overly obsessed with finding her birth parents " Chloe walked toward me.
I stared at her in disbelief, that she could be that criticizing.
" Well I'm gonna find my parents, and I'm not gonna stop until I know who they really are " I marched away.
