Love and Puck

“Talk to me...about what?” Memphis asked looking up into Letang's eyes. He smirked at her and put his arm on her shoulder, it didn’t work out to well because of how short she was compared to him. They started off to the end of the hallway to the stairwell,
“So what do we have to talk about?” Memphis asked.
“Avery” Letang said shutting the stairwell door leaning on it so no one could get in or out.
“What about her? You know if you say anything I’ll tell her right…? she’s my best friend-”
“I know you're going to tell her and that’s why it was iffy coming to you for this. You can’t tell her anything I say, you can tell her we talked about her that’s it.”
“And why can’t I tell her? Why do you ever care…?”
“Because, she’s a good friend and I don’t want to see anyone get hurt.”
“You're the only one going to end up hurting someone Kris-”
“Memphis don’t start that with me….just trust me.”
“That’s a hard thing to do sometimes.”
“Really Memphis? Just tell me one thing….what’s been going on with her lately?”
“I’m definitely not going to tell you that Kris.” Kris moved from the door quickly turning pushing Memphis into the wall and leaning over her,
“Tell me so I can fix it.”
“You can't fix everything, When will you learn that she is not your doll you can't fix her or anyone else.”
“But I can fix you, can't I?” A playful smiled danced across his face. I felt my heart beat faster. “What makes you think that?”
“I see the way you look at me, your heart beats a tiny bit faster when I am around, and you tend to be a little more bold. Hey I don't blame you.” Memphis playfully pushes him out of her way and says, “Come on playboy we better go get pizza while there is some left.” They exchanged smiles and raced to the room. They entered the party room and saw everyone sitting around. They all stopped what they were doing and stared at the two of them walking in,
“Thought there wouldn't be any left when you got here” Geno said shoulder bumping Letang. Letang laughed and rolled his eyes. Memphis took a slice of pizza and ate it when Avery came up to her,
“What was that all about?” she asked.
Memphis was hesitant to answer, “You” she said looking around adding, “I’m going up to the room to sleep, I’m not feeling well.” “Wait. What about me?” Avery asked.
“Just if you were alright. I’ll talk to you in the morning” Memphis said leaving the room and started back up to the hotel room. While waiting for the elevator someone came up and grabbed Memphis picking her up and spinning her around,
“What’s up sunshine?” Fleury said laughing as Memphis nearly jumped out of her skin. “Nothing, I’m going up to bed. I don’t feel good and that just made me feel worse and better at the same time” Memphis said trying to put on a happy face. Fleury hugged her, “Feel better” he said walking back to the party. Memphis got up to the room and took off her pants and folded them leaving her sweatshirt covering her with her unicorn slippers she loved, she laid down fell asleep quickly on the bed closest to the door.
About three in the there was a pounding on the door that woke her up,
“Memphis let me-us-me in” the person was yelling. Memphis was so tired she couldn’t tell who was at the door or where she was. She unlocked the door and opened it to Letang, and Avery standing in front of her,
“Sorry we woke you” Avery said walking into the room. Memphis didn't say anything just got back into bed and fell asleep. The alarm sounded at eight in the morning when Memphis got up and started yelling at it, Avery turned it off and laughed. Memphis looked around and saw Letang laying next to Avery,
“What the hell is he doing up here?” she shouted.
“His room was locked and no one would answer...so he stayed He’s leaving her has to go get his bags and stuff to get on the bus to the airport. Memphis moaned, “I forgot all about the flight to Pittsburgh.” Avery smirked and shook Letang waking him up,
“Oh shit, I have to get going” he yelled jumping out of bed, “Morning Memphis” he said as he walked out the door, “Morning” Memphis mumbled to herself. Letang said to Avery quietly so Memphis wouldn't here “She’s not a morning person is she?” Avery shook her head and they got ready. By the time everyone got on the airplane it was noon and the girls were still tired. They manage to make it down the runway and to the plane, being that the girls usually play video games with Sid, Fleury, Letang, and James Neal they were tormented. Finally arriving to Pittsburgh they were bombed by media. They all got on the bus to go to practice. As soon as the girls got off the bus they went right to work. Memphis putting signs together and Avery getting all the shots and meds she figured she would need.Chris Kunitz came from behind her and started to say something. Avery spilled all these pills on the ground. Kunitz placed his hand all the small of Avery’s back and said “You alright, babe.” Memphis looked over to Beau Bennett who just entered the room, he was give Kunitz the look to not say anything. Unfortunately it was too late and Avery kept repeating, “He’s here, he doesn’t love me Kuni. Why doesn’t he love me?” He sat there not knowing what to do. Memphis moved him over and grabbed Avery stepping over all of the spilled pills over the floor. We went out to the hall and walked around just to talk and have some girl time. We walked for what seemed like minutes but was actually longer than we expected. They were in the middle of talking when Avery started to say,
“Maybe I should just move on an-” Just as she was going to finish her sentence the one and only Tyler Seguin comes out from the ice. Avery stared at him, while Memphis tried to figure out what to do. Tyler looked at the girls and winked his eye, as he walked by,
“Don’t wink at her or me like that. Were not your dogs” Memphis yelled sizing up a fight too big for her.
