One Mississippi, Two Mississippi

I Don't Wanna Know

Kara walked into the house behind Kelly, they both slipped their shoes off before making their way into the kitchen. Callie sat at the kitchen table with a vase full of flowers in front of her and she let out a giggle.

Kelly raised her eyebrow, "did you just giggle?"

"Yes. I am guilty of giggling. Sue me." Callie said, handing the card that came with the flowers to Kelly. Kelly flipped it over and read it before she smiled and showed Kara.

Kara grinned, "that is some fiance you have."

"I know. I hit the jackpot with that one. How he deals with me being a raging bitch 24/7 and is still nice enough to send me flowers on my birthday when he's in California is beyond me." Callie said, smiling to herself.

Kelly leaned over to Kara and asked quietly, "she's smiling a lot today. That's not normal. I think something might seriously be wrong with her."

Kara nodded, "yeah she seems a little too happy to really be Callie."

Callie rolled her eyes and said, "would you two shut up, I can hear you. I've decided to turn over a new leaf and be happy and if you two can't handle it then away you go."

Kara grinned, "I for one am very happy for you."

"Me too." Kelly said with a nod.

"So since it's your birthday and Jamie is gone we were thinking the perfect birthday night would be pizza and movie night we are going to build a giant bed on the floor. Sound good?" Kara asked, laughing as Callie nodded vigorously.

"Am I allowed to have orange chocolate?" Callie asked excitedly, making both girls laugh.

Kelly nodded and said, "orange chocolate, pizza, juice, and I may have bought doritos because I know they're your favorite. So you sit here while we get the living room set up."

When Kelly and Kara disappeared Callie got up and filled up a bowl with doritos, filled three cups with lids with grapefruit juice and made sure her chocolate was marked with her name on it, it was the most important part of the night. A little over ten minutes later she was called into the living room, so she made her way there with the bowl of chips against her stomach and she couldn't help but laugh. She was sure every cushion from the furniture in the house was laid out on the floor, as well as several pillows and blankets.

When they were all seated on the makeshift bed and the pizza had all tried Callie couldn't help but say, "this might be the best birthday ever."

Kara grinned, and Kelly couldn't help but pull a gift bag out and say, "well its about to get 10 times better."

"I said no gifts." Callie told them, making both of them nod.

"Well technically this isn't from us. It's from Jamie, we about re just the delivery people." Kara told her, motioning for Callie to hurry up and open it.

Callie sighed dramatically, but pulled the card out, opening it. She couldn't help but smile as she read Jamie's words 'You said no gifts (flowers don't count) so I thought I'd be a bit creative, and make you something I think you'll enjoy. Sorry I can't be there, love you, Jamie.'

She set the card down and pulled out a book from the bag. She opened it and laughed. Inside were a series of handmade coupons for any occasion. One was for needing a night off, another for a week worth of being off diaper duty, and at the end of the 10 different coupons there was one coupon that read 'For a wedding, whenever and however you want to do it. Does not expire.'

Callie wiped at her eyes, and gave Kelly a swat as she laughed and warned, "shut up, I'm a little emotional."

"More than a little." Kelly said with a grin, making Callie roll her eyes.

Callie struggled and finally got up off the makeshift bed with her phone in her hand and said, "I'll be back."

She made her way up the stairs and into her bedroom, closing the door quietly before she called Jamie, not even sure if he would answer. She thought he might not, and she nearly hung up after a few minutes but he answered before she could, "happy birthday."

"I love you."

He laughed and said, "I love you too. Did they give you your present?"

"Yes, and I love you." Callie told him, leaning back against the headboard, hand on her stomach.

"I take it you liked it?" He asked with asked slight chuckle.

"Its not fair. You know I'm overly emotional lately, it's not fair that you get to make me cry with one gift." She told him, sniffling, on the verge of tears again.

"It made you cry?"

"Yes. Now shut up." Callie said as he laughed. She waited until he was done and then told him, "the flowers were pretty."

"Were they pink?" Jamie asked, not waiting for a response before he said, "I told the florist specifically only pink roses."

Callie smiled at that, and twisted her ring around on her finger, before she said, "they were pink."

"Good. What are you doing tonight?" Jamie asked.

"Watching movies, having pizza… Kara bought me orange chocolate." Callie said with a grin, making him laugh.

"Its your birthday, you're allowed orange chocolate." Jamie joked, making her laugh this time. The sound was like music to his ears, it was nice to finally see Callie happy again.

"You should come home soon. Kara and Kelly are not the same as you for a cuddle buddy."

Jamie laughed, "they're seriously sleeping in our bed with you?"

"What… I get lonely at night." Callie told him.

"Well I guess it's better than the dog. Which by the way…where is it while we're on the road?" Jamie asked curiously, he couldn't help but wonder.

"Um… on the floor in our bedroom at night…" Callie said, and Jamie knew she was lying.

"So in other words he sleeps on the bed too?"

"He's just so cute! You can't say no to his cute little face Jamie." Callie said, defending herself.

"Is this your way of saying you want a dog?"

"Oh god no. Way too much work on top of having a baby." Callie told him, she couldn't help but laugh when she heard Kara yell up the stairs to quit having phone sex with Jamie and that the pizza was getting cold. She then said to him, "well I should go, I'm being yelled at to hurry up."

"Have a good night. I'll see you the day after tomorrow." Jamie told her, before adding, "love you."

"Love you too." She hung up the phone and made her way downstairs as Kelly and Kara continued to hurry so she mumbled, "alright, alright. I'm coming. You know I'm not moving as fast as usual these days."

Kelly grinned, "yeah I've noticed."

Callie rolled her eyes and sat down, turning to Kara she smirked and asked, "so this phone sex thing... you do that often?"

Kara's face flushed and she shook her head, "no but I hear Kelly and Jordie are into it."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. How about we don't talk about mine and Jordie's sex life?"

Callie nodded, "I agree. Let's not."

Callie muttered to herself as she made her way out of the house, stopping only to lock the door. She carefully made her way down the steps of the porch, holding her stomach, and she fumbled with the keys to her vehicle, barely getting in. She reached down to try and move the seat back, dropping the keys out onto the driveway in the process.

She groaned and turned her head as Jordie pulled up in his vehicle, getting out. He walked around to her side of her vehicle and laughed at the sight, picking her keys up for her he asked, "you okay there? I know I'm a bit late but you didn't have to try and drive yourself grocery shopping."

"Shut up." She grumbled, snatching the keys from him.

"Whoa, what the hell did I do to get the wrath of Callie directed at me?" He asked, holding his hands up in a surrender motion.

Callie struggled getting out of the car, Jordie ended up extending his arm to her and helping her out before Callie looked up and said, "I think I'm in labor."

Jordie dropped his own keys and stared at her, "seriously? Like for real? This isn't an early April fools joke?"

Callie looked up again and glared at him, making him reach down to grab his keys, he then took hers from her hand, walked her around to the passenger side of her vehicle and helped her in. Callie pulled her phone out while Jordie got in the drivers side and adjusted the seat, she send Jamie a text, he hadn't answered her calls earlier so she let him know she was going to the hospital.

Jordie looked over at her as he stopped at a red light and asked, "you okay?"

Callie sniffled and ran her fingers under her eyes, wiping away her tears. She shook her head and said, "no. I'm so not ready for this."
