prologue
I remember it like it was yesterday.
“You bastard!” I screamed, staring at him as he stared at me across the room. His eyes were dark and empty, like he could see right through me. “You said… You said that you’d do it! You said that and you lied! I believed you and you fucking lied to me…”
I couldn’t control my sobs as they racked my body, making it uncontrollable for me. I didn’t even register that there were others in the room but I didn’t care because he lied.
“Lux-,”
“DON’T,” I roared and for the first time in my life, I saw sheer fear in his eyes.
“I’m sorry,” He breathed and walked forward, wrapping his arms around my trembling body. I cried till I fell to my knees but he didn’t care. He didn't care that blood stained my rags nor that dirt covered my entire face.
