My Fallen Angel

Chapter 25

The warmth of sunlight hit me and wrapped me in an embrace as I began to skate. I had another demo with Bam and Rob the following morning, I wore a Hart & Huntington shirt that exposed my shoulders more and my hair was down, I had a pair of purple Electric sunglasses on, black skinny jeans that had holes in them and black DC's. My lightened red hair shimmered in the light while I went and did a switch laser and a boardslide. When I landed, an idea came to me. It wasn't a design idea, it was more of a song idea. I kicked up my board and sat on a bench further away from the ramps that detailed the skatepark. I pulled my Iphone out of my pocket and I wrote the begining to what seemed like a song to me, it was something like, 'The tricky thing is, yesterday we were just children, playing soldiers'. It was interesting. I saved the little note and I turned my phone off, I might play with it when I get home after this signing. I headed back to Bam and Rob and we started signing stuff for the fans and we took pictures. After the signing, as Bam was driving me home, I started to play with the song idea more. When Bam dropped me off, I headed inside and grabbed one of Andy's guitars and headed outside. I sat down and began to play the guitar and I sang softly to myself. I rewrote the song out on paper and it had turned into this piece:

'Everybody's waiting
Everybody's watching
Even when you're sleeping
Keep your ey-eyes open

The tricky thing
Is yesterday we were just children
Playing soldiers
Just pretending
Dreaming dreams with happy endings
In backyards, winning battles with our wooden swords
But now we've stepped into a cruel world
Where everybody stands and keeps score

Keep your eyes open

Everybody's waiting for you to breakdown
Everybody's watching to see the fallout
Even when you're sleeping, sleeping
Keep your ey-eyes open
Keep your ey-eyes open
Keep your ey-eyes open

So here you are, two steps ahead and staying on guard
Every lesson forms a new scar
They never thought you'd make it this far
But turn around (turn around), oh they've surrounded you
It's a showdown (showdown) and nobody comes to save you now
But you've got something they don't
Yeah you've got something they don't
You've just gotta keep your eyes open

Everybody's waiting for you to breakdown
Everybody's watching to see the fallout
Even when you're sleeping, sleeping
Keep your ey-eyes open
Keep your ey-eyes open

Keep your feet ready
Heartbeat steady
Keep your eyes open
Keep your aim locked
The night goes dark
Keep your eyes open

Everybody's waiting for you to breakdown
Everybody's watching to see the fallout
Even when you're sleeping, sleeping

Keep your ey-eyes open
Keep your ey-eyes open
Keep your ey-eyes open
Keep your ey-eyes open
Keep your ey-eyes open.'

I then played with the song title and decided to call it 'Eyes Open', because it made sense because I say 'eyes open' repeatedly. I then leaned back on the chair that I was sitting on and I sighed. For some reason, this song came to me and there was no reason what it meant to me. I took a deep breath and tried to think of who it reminded me of. After thinking of Bam, Rob, Jericho, Pink, Carey, Travis, Juliet, and Kat, one person stuck out to me the most. Andy.

It reminded me of Andy. The song is almost like how after everything that he went through, being bullied in school at a young age and everything and how it made him who he is and it was the reason why he created Black Veil Brides. I smiled. There was my reason that 'Eyes Open' came to me. I then started to sing it again to myself and I then heard the door open and close, telling me that Andy was home from being in the studio. I continued singing, except making my voice higher. I heard Andy walking out to the porch and I then turned to see him leaning against the wall and I jumped.

"Damn it, Light." I muttered. "You scared me."

Andy chuckled and he came over and sat with me.

"Sorry, Faith. Couldn't help it." He murmured, kissing my temple. "That was an amazing song you were singing. Did you write that?"

"Yes, Light. It just came to me when I was skating today," I said.

"Did you name it yet?" He asked.

"Yeah, I called it 'Eyes Open'." I replied, handing him the paper that had the lyric written on it. Andy took it and looked at the lyrics. After he looked at the lyrics, he seemed like he was going to cry.

"Light? What's wrong?" I asked.

"The song. It reminds me of what I went through to get to who I am now. Are you sure this just came to you?" He said. I nodded.

"Yeah. it just came to me." I told him. Andy then pulled me to him and he kissed me softly. When we pulled apart, his icy blue eyes were soft and full of happiness.

"It's beautiful, Faith. I love it." He whispered. I then pecked him on the cheek.

"Thank you, Light."

I lay my head on him and he held me close, I inhaled his scent of cigarettes and leather and a tiny bit of silver. He stroked my hair and kissed my forehead.

"You have such a beautiful and enigmatic voice, Faith." Andy told me, as he ran his fingers through my hair. I leaned my head up and stared into his icy blue eyes again and smiled. He then just kissed me again, gently.

I then had to think about if I should release it or not. If I did, I would get more fans, but I wasn't sure. I did want to let my fans hear my voice in the musical world and not just in the skateboarding world. Maybe, I'll get Juliet to help me with it. I thought. Andy broke away and he stroked my face and a small smile came across my face.

"I love you, Faith." He murmured. I smiled and pecked him on the cheek.

"I love you too, Light." I whispered.

The next morning, I decided to meet with Juliet and have her look over the lyrics I wrote. I handed her the paper and she opened it. She looked through them and a smile came across her face.

"Aw! These are amazing, Lace." She said. "You need to release the song out to the world. They would love to hear it."

"That's what I'm debating on," I replied, sipping on the Gin and Tonic I gotten and I crossed my arms. "Are they good enough?"

"These are great! You have to do it." She told me. I nodded, after considering it. Besides, it would be something new. Something my fans never expected from me. I thought.

"I'll do it, then." I replied. Juliet then hugged me and I smiled brightly.

"I'll help you with it."

"Thank you, Snakey." I told her.

It was official, I, Lacey Blackburn-Biersack, will be releasing my first song out into the world and it was about everything my hubby, Andy, went through when he was younger. I was thrilled because I couldn't wait to let the fans hear it. And that put a huge grin on my face. 'Eyes Open' was going to be a hit. I didn't care what people were gonna think. I was just excited to let people hear it.
