Coal Spines

Humans are fearful creatures. Some children are afraid of dogs, you know. If so, I don't know why they wouldn't be scared of aliens, or school, or future, or love. It is in human nature to be afraid of things they don't understand.

What does that make me, though? Before I met you, when I didn't understand or know you, I wasn't afraid. I was mesmerized.
