Passed Our Dancing Days

She got to me.

Even though I always pushed
her away, she never left my
side. She did not speak. We
just held onto our cautious and
close relationship. But one
day, I changed that.

Slowly...

Softly...

I sunk down to
my absolute lowest level
and I spoke to her.
“Hi.”
I said, speaking quietly.
She looked over to my
face, smiling, as if she
knew I would eventually
warm up to her.
“Hello. I’m Violet.”
At her voice, my heart
gave a strange flutter.
She made me feel safe.
“I am Lillith.”
I replied.

After that, we were
were inseparable. Not
once after that was I
without her, or she without
me.
