Akuma’s P.O.V

The door closed behind me with a loud, hollow thud. I took a moment to slide my arms through my jacket with a wince before I started running, the brisk midnight wind raking across my face. I kept glancing back over my shoulder waiting to see him come after me. The short, patchy grass cut into my barefeet as I ran as fast as I could, blood soaking through the sleeves of my jacket and sticking to my bruised skin. My breath was sharp and jagged as I exhaled rapidly. The fence before me grew closer and closer, I was so close, I only need to get over this fence and I was home free. My throbbing arms reached up and clung to the chilled metal, my fingers clawing at the chain loops pulling myself up the fence and over the top. My arms jerked wildly and the fence swayed, my feet gave way and I crashed to the ground; something had me by the back of my jacket. They pulled hard, not letting me get up from the crouched position that I had fallen into. I let out a scream and thrashed my arms out, feeling the blood flow even more. I tugged hard at whoever was holding me back, throwing a blast of power behind me when they wouldn’t let go, flying forward and feeling my jacket peel away from my body shortly before I hit the ground Now with bare arms, the cold night air ripped at my open wounds, sinking deep into my bones freezing me from the inside. I could barely breath now, my throat burning from tears and hoarse screeching. My legs felt numb under me as I got up and continued to run, my only thought was to save Alice; she needed me and I needed her. My feet were bloody and bruised by the time I reached the nearest road and burst out onto the cold, hard pavement, wincing as what felt like glass dug its way into my feet. There was a blare of what sounded like a horn and I spun around quickly, freezing when I noticed headlights directly in front of me. My breath hitched, my eyes wide as the only thing they could absorb was the blinding light absorbing me. I couldn’t tell if the car had hit me or stopped, maybe it was moving and I wasn’t. Everything was getting blurry and even the light disappeared as I felt my body hit the ground hard, my head hitting last. Then everything went black.

Alice’s P.O.V

“THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!” I screamed, throwing the phone against the wall and watching it shatter before I rounded on the men standing behind me. All I could feel was anger and rage coursing through my body as I turned my hot glare between them all, taking in their shocked expressions. “NO ONE’S ANSWERING AND IT’S BEEN OVER FIVE HOURS. SHE’S DEAD AND IT’S ALL. YOUR. GOD DAMNED. FAULT.” The last part was directed more at Bobby, but I turned away and reached for the closest thing I could throw, which just happened to be a large bottle of vodka. I turned to face them again and chucked the bottle at Dean, letting out a screech of rage as he ducked out of the way, the lights in the room flickering violently. “GET OUT. GO LOOK FOR HER DEAN!”

“Alice…” Sam said in a soft tone, the look on his face indifferent, though his eyes showed a different story. “You need to calm down. We’ll go look at barns and other area’s where she could be. All of us together.” He spoke gently, keeping his voice at a soothing tone after taking a wary step towards me.

“NO. DEAN CAN GO WITH BOBBY AND I’M GOING TO FUCKING FIND ONE OF THIS FUCKERS FRIENDS AND TORTURE THE INFORMATION OUT OF IT.” I snarled, stepping away from Sam and swearing when I noticed he was in the way of the rest of the breakable items in the room. “Get. Out. Of. My. Way. Winchester.” I growled, the lights growing brighter with every word. I waited impatiently for a moment before realizing that he wasn’t going to move and rounding on Dean again. “WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?!” I snapped, walking towards him and shoving him back towards the door. “GO!” I yelled at the same time the window in the room shattered, leaving us all to stop and stare at it. “Just… Go.” I said quietly, turning and running into the bathroom.

Akuma’s P.O.V

I shot straight up into a sitting position more startled than anything else. One hand gripping the bed below me and the other one resting on my racing heart as I blinked my vision clear of black dots. There was a loud ringing in my ears that prevented me from hearing for a couple minutes but once I regained most of my senses my heart dropped into my stomach, stealing my breath away. There were men and women demanding different tools that had a medical sound to them and when I raised my head I saw doctors and nurses surrounding me. With a frown I looked down and shot up, out of the bed at the sight of my own body laying on the table, skin white, bloody and bruised. They were cutting and digging into me with everything they had, but I couldn’t feel a thing.

I let out a noise that ended coming out as a mixture of fear and frustration before looking around the room again, taking a deep breath in an attempt to stop the fear that was rising in me. With another animalistic noise I turned and left the room, unable to watch them pick at my body without wanting to tear them all to pieces. Instead I found solace in wandering around and trying to ignore the fact that I was in a place that I hated more than anything else. Asking myself over and over, how did I get here? Where am I? I wasn’t expecting an answer and didn’t get one. Instead I got to listen to the crying of parents as their children laid in beds asleep and breathe in the smell of death, decay, and chemicals, making my already sick stomach turn even more.

I couldn’t tell how long I had been walking before I found myself standing in the doorway of the room that the doctors were using to work on my body. Their voices were less panicked and I could see bandages covering my arms and feet. I felt as if something was calling me and I walked back to my body, looking down at it for a moment before I felt as I was being dragged into something and everything settled into a calming black.

Sam’s P.O.V

I looked up from my computer and looking for any abandoned places around the area at the sound of Bobby’s phone ringing. I watched him push himself up from the chair across from me and walk to the counter where he had left it, a frown crossing his face as he flipped it open and pushed it to his ear. “Hello?” he asked, walking to the table and putting it on speaker.

“... Here in the hospital. She just got out of surgery a few minutes ago.”

“We’ll be there soon, thank you.” Bobby replied, hitting end and looking at me with a look on his face that reflected the relief I felt filling me. “Call Dean. I’m going try to get Alice to open the bathroom door.” He said, lifting his ball cap and rubbing his forehead before setting it back on his head and walking to the bathroom. I watched him for a moment before I closed my computer and grabbed my phone, dialing Dean’s number and pressing the phone to my ear, leaning my head back against the wall behind me.

“Hello?” The rough, tired sound of someone's voice echoed from the other end of the line.

“Can you come back? Or meet us at the hospital?” I asked, closing my computer and looking over to Bobby just to see Alice opening the bathroom door, a look of pure relief on her face. “Bobby just got a call, Akuma’s there and alive. We’re going to go get her.”

“Yeah. I’ll be at the hospital in ten.” A relieved reply came before the tone signalled the end of the call. I set my phone down on the table and stood up, grabbing my jacket before stretching and giving Alice an easy smile when she walked over and grabbed Akuma’s necklace from off the table.

“Dean’s going to be at the hospital in ten minutes.” I told her before turning my gaze to Bobby and tossing him his keys. “Ready to go?” I asked, shoving my hands into my pockets and rocking back on my heels, waiting for both of them to nod before turning and walking out of the room and to Bobby’s car.

*******

The moment we reached the hospital Alice and Bobby were out of the car in less than a minute, Bobby walking at a fast pace while Alice ran, a mixed look of relief and anxiety on her face. With a small sigh I followed behind them, glancing over my shoulder at Dean yelling at me to wait for him. “Hey Dean.” I answered, waiting for him to catch up before walking up behind Bobby and Alice.

“... Here to see Alyssa. I’m her father. Her sister, husband, and brother-in-law are here with me.” Bobby was saying, causing me to lift my eyebrows and smirk as he pointed to Alice, Dean and then finally myself. I turned to glance at Dean, grinning when I saw the look of disgust on his face. I laughed to myself before following Bobby and the nurse to the room that Akuma was in.

“She’s in here. She’s still under sedatives but she should be awake anytime in the next few hours.” The nurse explained, giving us all a small smile before walking away. I waited for Alice and Bobby to go in first, frowning at the sharp intake of breath I heard from both of them. I stepped in behind them and stared in shock at the sight before me. Akuma was under a thin hospital blanket in an even thinner hospital gown, a mess of machines and wires around as well as attached to her body. Her arms, neck, and shoulders were covered with bandages, spotted brown patches of what looked like dried blood in some of the areas, and there was a machine to help her breathe strapped to her face.

“Holy shit.” I breathed, shoving my hands back into my pockets and rocking back onto my heels. I didn’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t to see her in such bad shape. I barely knew her but I never could have imagined her ending up like this, especially not after the way I had heard Alice talk about her. But considering she looked so bad, I was more shocked that she was even alive.

“...Yeah.” Alice muttered, moving forward and grabbing Akuma’s hand, running a thumb over her hand, leaning down and resting her forehead on her sister’s shoulder.

“Can you two go talk to the doctor? See if she need any medication?” Bobby asked gruffly, glancing at the heart rate monitor at a slight spike.

“I’d like a few minutes alone with her, please?” Alice peered up from her sister’s limp body. Her eyes filling with tears slightly as the monitor spiked again.

“Yeah... sure. I’m sure the nurse would love to see her patient’s loving husband again.” I teased, turning to grin at Dean.

“Shut up Samuel.” Dean growled, his green eyes dark as he glared at me, his entire body tense.

“It’s Sam.” I snapped back, turning and heading out of the room, rolling my eyes when I heard Dean grumble under his breath and stomp out after me.

Alice’s P.O.V.

As soon as the boys were gone I stood up and closed the door behind them, looking at the heart rate monitor with a frown. “Bobby what’s happening?” I asked, watching as it spiked again, picking up more speed the longer it went on.

“She’s waking up… in a way.” Bobby said gruffly, moving forward and pressing down her shoulder. “Get her other arm Alice. Hold her down as best you can.” He instructed, waiting for me to follow his orders before turning back to Akuma, a worried frown crossing his face as her hand twitched and her eyes flew open. There was no trace of blue visible as her pupils expanded, a wild swirl of yellow joining as the heart rate monitor jumped dangerously. Loud beeping and small flashing lights danced around the bed as to where Akuma lay, her body started to jolt frantically.

“Bobby?! What the hell?!” I demanded, struggling to hold her down as she let out a garbled scream around the breathing tube, her hand flying up and grabbing my shoulders.

“Hold her down.” Bobby called again, his tone urgent as he pressed his free hand across her forehead and over her eyes just as the door slammed open and a nurse ran in, panicked. “Is there any more of that sedative she was under?” He asked, grunting when Akuma reached up and dug her nails into his shoulder, blood immediately leaking through his thin plaid shirt. “She has a huge fear of hospitals.”

The nurse nodded and quickly ran out of the room, coming back a few moments later, holding a needle filled with a clear liquid. “Hold her arm down.” The woman instructed, looking between me and Bobby. I stared at Bobby for a moment before looking at the hand over her eyes, taking a moment to think it through before grabbing her thrashing arm and pinning it to the bed.

“Please hurry. I’m not very strong.” I muttered, wincing as a short growl erupted from Akuma’s chest, her hand moving from Bobby’s shoulder to dig into the bed as the nurse slid the needle into her vein and pressed down, releasing the sedative into her blood. After a few more moments her heart rate returned to normal and her hands fell limp by her sides. “Thank you.” I said, releasing my sister and wincing at the red blood seeping through the bandages in places. “.... Did her stitches rip?” I asked softly.

“There would be a lot more blood sweetheart. If anything they stretched a little. She’ll be fine. Call me if her heart rate spikes again.” The nurse spoke in a reassuring tone before giving us both smiles and heading out of the room.

Once the nurse was gone I rounded on Bobby, a frown crossing my face. “What happened? And how did you know what to do?” I demanded, pushing aside my anger and worry so I wouldn’t freak out over nothing. He kept her safe and out of the scientist’s lab and that was the only thing that mattered, but I still wanted answers.

“Well you already know that I knew her long before you met her. Within that time she was still with her dad and she’s hated hospitals for as long as I’ve known her, so she’d show up at my place and I’d stitch her up as best I could.” He explained as he pulled out a pair of handcuffs from his bag and cuffed Akuma’s wrists to the bed. Upon further inspection, they both had small devils traps carved into the metallic surface. “She was hurt real bad one time, but that damn kid still refused to go to the hospital. Sedatives worked a whole hell of a lot better on her back then so I had put her under. But when she woke up after I said everything was gonna be okay...it wasn’t really her that woke up. It seemed like whatever half of her that was human was completely gone. Her demon side pretty much took over and she went completely out of her melon, wouldn’t let me help her for nothin’. I think it was her survival instinct but it almost killed her ‘cause it couldn’t heal. It ended up passin’ out and I fixed her up… Akuma didn’t remember what happened after that. It hasn’t happened since but I thought that it might be worse this time around. She’s a lot more powerful and after everythin’ she went through….”

“Oh…” I muttered, running a hand through my hair. Not remembering the incident would explain why she hadn’t told me, but I felt as if Bobby would have told her… Akuma sometimes kept things from me to protect me but this was one of those things… she probably just wanted to forget. “Well now I know I guess. Hopefully she doesn’t get this badly injured again.” I said, tensing at the sound of the door opening.

“Hey guys.” Sam cleared his throat as he stepped back into the room, looking between us before turning his attention to Akuma, a frown crossing his face when his eyes stopped on the cuffs. “What happened?”

“Oh she woke up for a bit and started freaking out. The nurse had to hold her down somehow. To stop her from tearing open her stitches.” I explained, tucking a loose piece of hair behind my ear. “You get the meds?”

“Yeah. They’re mostly painkillers. There’s some cream for the stitches.” Sam added, setting the bag down on the table beside my sister’s bed. “There’s cops waiting around to question her. We told them we were FBI but I guess they caught wind that Deans supposed to be her husband and I’m supposed to be her brother-in-law. We told them that’s why they should leave the questioning to us… they seemed to get it. So she should be good to get past them whenever we can get her out of here.”

“Good… She’ll probably want to leave as soon as she wakes up… She’s not that fond of hospitals.” I said, looking back down at her, watching her chest rise and fall to the even beat of the breathing machine.

Akuma’s P.O.V

Bright lights filled my eyes as they opened slowly, binding me. My head pounding and spinning violently inside my skull. I blinked several times trying to clear the fuzzy, black dots that spotted my vision. I tried to take in a breath but there was something in the way. My mind suddenly sprang into action, my heart started beating faster and harder as I reached for face but falling short as I realized I had been strapped down by cold, sharp bindings. My eyes wide with terror as my mouth closed around the tube that had been lodged down my throat. My only thought swirled and repeated over and over again I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe! Sam was then suddenly in my vision, which was mostly blacked out by the amount of shock that my body was experiencing at a single moment. His face was stern and full of worry, he quickly left my side and went for the door, sticking his head out and calling for help, though I couldn’t hear a damn thing.

I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to block out the anger and fear rising up in my chest, not wanting to completely freak out with all of these humans around, and especially not with the Winchesters around. It seemed like it had been ages before I felt someone tilt my chin back and the machine leave my throat. I immediately sucked in as best a breath I could catch between the horrendous coughing and finally opened my eyes, pulling my arms to my chest the moment that Bobby had unlocked what turned out to be cuffs. “You’re okay sweetheart.” A female voice said to my left, and I turned to see a nurse standing beside me with an easy smile. “Do you want me to bring in your husband so you can see him?”

“H-husband?” I croaked, clearing my throat and taking another breath before rubbing my eyes. “Um... yeah.” I said, catching the look on Bobby’s face but still feeling the cloud of confusion fogging my brain. Husband? What the hell is she going on about? I speculated as the nurse ushered Sam, Alice, and Bobby out of the room and returned with a disgruntled looking Dean in tow. My eyebrows shot up and I let out a short groan of frustration before plastering a fake smile on my face. “Hi sweetie!”

“... Hey. How’re you feeling?” Dean asked, looking up from the floor to meet my gaze. The look in his hazel eyes told me he felt the same about this situation as I did, but it also told me he didn’t want to play along, which made the situation somewhat entertaining for me. At least I could torture him a bit more.

“I’m tired... and dizzy.” I answered truthfully as I put my legs over the edge of the bed and frowned when I noticed that I was still attached to an IV. I reached out and grabbed the stand, using it to help me move closer to Dean. The nurse still hadn’t left and maybe it was because she was one of the ones that fawned over everything, but it was annoying and if I had to kiss this asshole to get her to leave, then I was going to be pissed. “I missed you. I was soooo scared I wasn’t ever going to be able to see you again.” I spoke in an overly cheerful voice, stopping just a few inches away from him and holding his gaze as I stuck out my lower lip in a small pout. A quick glance at the nurse showed that she was still waiting. What was she waiting for? Us to make out or something?! Like that would ever happen!

“Oh... Yeah I was worried too Alyssa.” Dean said, shifting his weight a bit uncomfortably and rubbing the back of his neck as he glanced to the floor and away from me. I could tell by his stiff body that he was extremely nervous, his cheeks had a dust of scarlet washing over them as well as the bridge of his nose. His freckles now vibrantly standing out against his flushed skin.

I looked at the nurse again and held back a frustrated growl before looking back at Dean and moving closer. “Don’t be so shy honey. I’m sure the nurse is waiting to bring me Alice.” I said through gritted teeth as I reached out to hug him, my body getting tense when he slowly wrapped his arms around my waist, though my body relaxed again at the warmth of his skin on my skin, god he’s like a fucking heater. I thought, biting down on my lip when I saw the nurse still watching intently. With a pit in my stomach I pulled away slightly and forced Dean to look at me again, making sure I had a look of anger in my eyes before I gave him a quick but somewhat passionate kiss, making sure to make my face a clean slate before pulling back. I didn’t want him to see that I enjoyed any of what we were doing.

“Oh I just love happy reunions!” The nurse said, clapping her hands together and grinning wide. “I can bring in your cousin now, if you’d like?”

“Please. She’s probably the one with my clothes. And can you get this stupid IV out of my arm? I hate needles and I can feel it.” I groaned, my voice getting icy the moment Dean left the room, a look of shock and embarrassment on his face. A few moments later the nurse had removed the IV and left the room, returning with Alice not too long after that. “Thank god. That nurse is psycho.” I barked, the moment the woman had left the room again.

“What did she do?” Alice asked with a tilt of her head as she set a backpack on the bed and started digging out clothes. “Dean looked pretty embarrassed and kind of pissed off. You actually have the same look on your face.” She teased and it took some control not to smack her over the back of the head.

“She wouldn’t leave until I kissed him.” I complained, running a hand through my hair and grimacing at the amount of grease and dried blood in it. I was definitely going to need a shower or something once I was back at the hotel. “She said something about loving reunions or some shit. Like I said; she’s psycho.” I finished, slipping into the sweatpants and old AC/DC shirt that Alice had handed me, though I avoided the bra like the plague and pulled a sweater over my head instead. “Does the hospital have my jacket?” I glanced around as if it would magically appear on the bed beside me. My heart sinking when I didn’t see it in the bag or anywhere in the room.

“... No. No one gave it to us.” Alice muttered, shoving my bra and underwear back into the bag and handing me a ponytail, which I utilized immediately.

“.... Great. Well we’ll need to go get it from the field then.” I said with a sigh, rubbing a hand over my face. “Please tell me that Bobby is working his magic to get us outta here. I’ll go crazy if I have to stay here much longer. It smells like death, decay, and bleach.”

~~~~~~~~~
Dean’s P.O.V.
I ran the back of my hand across my mouth the moment I was out of the hospital room, glaring at Sam when he started to laugh. That entire situation was terrible and that nurse was fucking creepy. “Where’s Bobby?” I demanded, shoving my hands into my pockets and straightening my back. This entire situation was embarrassing and the fact that I had to kiss that woman just made everything worse.
“He’s talking to Akuma’s doctor so we can get out of here.” Sam said with another chuckle from where he leaned against the wall, his hands in his jean pockets. “So did you like it?” He teased, earning another glare from me. God I was never going to live this down. This was probably the second worst outcome from this situation. Instead of giving Sam an answer I just flipped him off and leaned back against the wall across from him when Alice opened the door. Both of the girls stepped out and Akuma glared at me, her icy blue eyes darker than usual and filled with a look of disgust, which was fine by me.
“Has Bobby figured everything out yet?” Alice asked, looking up at me and lifting one of her red eyebrows. If she was expecting an answer from me then she was looking in the wrong place. I wasn’t saying a word about any of this to anyone, and I was hoping that Akuma had come to the same decision.
“Just got the papers signed.” The reply came from behind Alice as Bobby walked up the hall, holding up a few papers before giving Akuma a short hug before pulling away.
“We should get going.” Akuma muttered, tugging on the end of her ponytail and looking down at her sister. “I need my jacket. It has my keys and everything and a couple of my I.Ds. And I don’t think the cops won’t be too happy if they find those.” She admitted, shifting her weight and not waiting for an answer before turning and walking down the hall. I waited for Sam, Bobby, and Alice to follow before I walked after them, making sure to stay a decent distance away from them. Once we were in the lobby I pulled out my keys and twirled them in my hand, watching Alice run up to her sister and give her back the locket. The look on Akuma’s face was one of pure relief as her free hand flew to her empty throat before she put the necklace on and headed out. With a silent groan I followed the rest of the group out and headed to my car.
*******
“Akuma passed out in the car, Bobby wants to get her to the hotel so we need to go get her jacket.” Sam said from the passenger seat and I looked over at him just in time to see him sliding his phone back into his pocket. “He said it’s the next right turn onto a dirt road, though we might have to go into the field.” He explained, leaning forward and turning up the volume on the radio before leaning back and resting his head on the door.
“Alright.” I grumbled, watching Bobby pull over ahead of us before I sped past, flicking on my blinker as the turn came up. I didn’t slow as I took the corner, drifting slightly, and then driving for a bit longer,only stopping when I noticed what looked like a structure of sharp glass pillars placed next to the fence a bit into the field. “What the hell?” I wondered aloud, cutting the engine and getting out of the car with a frown. I waited for Sam to get out and start walking before I followed him, pocketing my keys and shielding my eyes against the sun as we reached the structure. “Is this supposed to be art?” I asked with another frown, taking in the nearly clear glass, which was splattered with dried blood, my eyebrows pinching together tightly.
“I... have no clue.” Sam breathed, moving around the glass and reaching across the fence, picking the jacket up from off the fractured ground and looking up. “Well whatever it is, it’s fucking weird.” He said, pushing his hair out of his face and meeting my eyes, a smirk crossing his face. “So... was there tongue?”
“... No. Now you shut yer mouth or you’re walking home.” I snapped, my finger pointing out at him as I turned around and walked back towards the car, running a hand over the stubble that had grown on my chin.
“Well the impala is my home, so I think I will be fine with walking home.” Sam laughed from behind me and I rolled my eyes, not giving him the pleasure of an answer. Instead I walked up to my car and got in, waiting impatiently for him to get into the passenger side. The small squeak of the car door soothing the headache forming behind my eyebrows.
*******
I sighed in frustration as I watched Sam bolt to the hotel room where Bobby and Alice were waiting. I didn’t understand why he was making me do this, but I was hoping Akuma was asleep so I could just dump her jacket on the couch and get out of there with no questions asked. I waited another moment before I got out of the car to stretch. I sighed again, grabbing the jacket from the backseat and rolling my eyes before walking up to the room with the number matching the one that Bobby had given me. I paused to knock on the door but stopped myself and pushed the door open instead, freezing when I saw Akuma standing there, completely naked with her long black hair dripping wet and hanging over her breasts. My breath hitched in my throat as my eyes instinctively wandered over her damn near perfect body. The only imperfection she had was the large amount of stitches covering her dangerously white body and a long, barely visible scar between her hip bones.
“I... Uh... I have your jacket.” I stuttered, clearing my throat and shifting my weight and forcing my gaze back up to her eyes, trying to keep my face completely straight as she stared back at me, a smirk crossing her face.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” She purred, crossing her arms under her breasts and lifting her eyebrows a bit, the smirk on her face growing bigger, though it looked like there was a light blush on her face. I shifted my weight again and cleared my throat, feeling my face get red as I dropped the jacket and turned, walking out of the room and slamming the door behind me.
