Safe Haven

Prologue

Run, don't stop. If you stop, he finds you and you're dead. You cry out in joy as you see the airport. You're almost to freedom. Clutching tight to your daughter's hand, you flinch as someone bumps in to you. You ignore their apologies. You don't have time for that. You breath a sigh of relief as you hand the flight attendant your tickets. You can see her looking at you in pity as she takes in the bruises on your face and arms. You're tired of the pity looks. When you sit down in your seats and watch as the plane begins it's ascend, you can't help but think; you're finally free.
