It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter ten

Everyone was on edge in health today. We had handed in our babies to the teacher on Monday, and today was the day we got our results back.

We were getting the results back after school. Our teacher had specifically told us that so we wouldn’t get distracted during today’s lessons with our results. Even so we still sat with our partners in hopes the teacher would change her mind.

So I was seated next to Jess and Jasper, with Gohan on my right.

It was 2.55. Five minutes until the bell. The teacher had wrapped up the lesson 5 minutes ago and stated we could begin our homework in the last ten minutes. A lot of people were looking hopeful that the teacher would hand us our marks early, but I knew she wouldn’t.

Then, the bell rang. Everybody ran out of their seats and to the front until they heard our teacher boom.

“YOU ALL SHALL BE SEATED UNTIL YOU ARE CALLED UP TO RECEIVE YOUR GRADE,” She shouted “This does NOT mean all running around and crowding around halfway through the roll.”

Gohan and I who were still seated looked at each and giggled.

Ah yes, “Gohan and I” the phase that makes me panic. We kissed at Capsule Corp. that day, but that’s it. We smiled after the kiss, went back and then socialised with all of his friends. I assume Gohan was just shy about what happened, or was just a gentleman and didn’t want to reject me. I knew he wasn’t a player, and besides ‘kissing’ someone isn’t a player move.

I feared rejection, especially after what happened back in Domino with Seto. I was too scared to approach Gohan about the kiss, so I was fine just being friends with him and on the inside being fearful of what he really thinks of me.

Gohan and I had to wait a while before we were called. The teacher called us up by alphabetical order by our last names, and whoever’s name came first in each group got them both called up. As Gohan’s last name began with ‘S’ I would get us called up with my last name (Judge)

Finally my name got called, and Gohan grabbed my hand and gave it a quick squeeze as we made our way down the stairs in the lecture hall.

“Congratulations you two. I’m really pleased with your efforts. You both got very high happiness rates on the baby’s happiness meter, and the only way to get higher than what you both got would to been awake for the entire two weeks with the baby at your side to stop it crying within seconds.” The teacher smiled, handing us a slip of paper each with our grade on it.

I looked at the grade as I stepped out. A plus.

Gohan and I then looked at each other at the same time, as our mark dawned on us. We both grinned at each other and I gave him a high five.

As we got into the corridor, most of the class will still outside the door. They were all comparing grades and waiting for their friends inside to reveal their grades.

Jess immediately bounced over to me, jumping in between Gohan and I.

“I’d ask your grade, but considering Gohan was your partner I already know it’s A plus. It is, right?” She grinned.

Gohan blushed and nodded his head.

“Aw, you’re smart. Accept your gift, and know you’re going to end up with a way better life than us.” Jess replied.

Gohan looked away and stayed quiet.

“Gohan, I’m being serious. I’m not teasing you. Congratulations, you both put in the effort and deserve your A plus.” Jess said, a genuine smile all over her face.

“What’s up with you?” I snorted, knowing that Jess being this kind to Gohan was not normal, something was up.

“Nothing. Jasper and I got a better grade than what we expected. Considering we threw things at the kid to make it shut up, our B is something to be proud of. Most people out here got C’s and D’s, even the teacher said it wasn’t an easy project and if you got a C you did well.” Jess grinned.

“Well then, a B isn’t too bad. It makes a B grade parent, that qualifies you to at least look after someone else’s kids then doesn’t it? Even if you’d fail at being a parent yourself.” We heard a voice say.

We looked to our side to the see who owns that voice, and a smug looking Videl was to be seen.

“It doesn’t matter what you got, you shouldn’t be a parent anyway. I’d hate to be YOUR kid. Jess sneered.

“Well with an A, and obviously the highest grade in the class I’d be a better parent than you.” Videl bit back, with the same amount of venom as Jess.

“Actually you’re wrong. Gohan and I got an A plus, so if you think you got the highest grade obviously Gohan and I did.” I said with a mass amount of pride, waving my grades sheet in front of her face.

“Gohan is the biggest nerd, he has no life. He doesn’t count.” Videl said, clearly upset she had ‘lost’

“Leave Gohan alone! Just because he wants to get ahead in life on his own terms unlike you who will be clinging onto her dad’s name her whole life. Hope when you’re old you’ll realise you pretty much failed at life and will leave nothing of your own legacy.” Jess spat.

While I was shocked Jess defended Gohan, it made more sense once her statement went along. She seemed to really hit a nerve with Videl; Videl went from shocked, to looking sad to SEETHING. I had never seen such a venomous look before.

Then something unexpected happened. Videl took a swing at Jess.
