It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter eleven

Jess took no hesitation in swinging back at Videl. To most people’s eyes this fight seemed like a heat of the moment anger punch. But to those in the know, it was obvious this fight was a long time coming, and it would get very passionate.

I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t let Jess fight Videl. Even though Jess strongly believed Mr. Satan was a fake and the kid with the blonde hair and turquoise eyes beat cell, there was no denying that Mr. Satan was strong, and he had personally trained his daughter Videl. As much as I hated to say this, Videl was also a very motivated person and would do anything to reach her goal. I could bet my life savings that she trained hard regularly, something Jess did not do.

But I couldn’t jump in. I’d hurt myself; I could possibly hurt Jess and would bring attention of teachers quicker, resulting in both Jess and I getting in trouble.

Before I could ponder more on what to do, Gohan had jumped into the fight. He easily held back Videl, which shocked me and everyone around. Even Jess looked a little shocked, stopping mid punch.

The crowd began to whisper about Gohan’s strength. Videl had beaten up grown men who were tough criminals before, how could this one lanky kid hold her back when she was using all her strength to break free?

“Coming through, coming through!” I heard a teacher scream, coming through the crowd that had formed around us quickly.

Gohan dropped Videl quickly, and Jess backed away as much as she could before the teacher appeared.

“What’s going on here?” She asked angrily, looking between Videl, Gohan, Jess and I.

I found some way I could help this situation.

“Everyone was crowding around to see what Videl got, knowing she’s a bright girl. Then Gohan came along, and people wanted to see what he got too because he’s got a reputation of being intelligent too. I’m Gohan’s partner, and Jess is my friend who approached us to see what we got.” I quickly spat out, as the others were struggling to come up with a lie.

“Yes, Charlotte is describing the events as they happened. Everyone would agree, right?” Videl asked the crowd in a threatening matter.

I rolled my eyes as most of the crowd mumbled something agreeing with Videl. How can this girl be popular if she’s such a bully? Oh yeah, her faker father is famous. These people deserved to be used.

The teacher immediately dropped her cold demeanour, becoming pleasant with Videl and congratulating her for her high grade.

As soon as the teacher left, Videl gave one last dirty look to Gohan, Jess and I before storming off, barging through the crowd.

People then began to crowd around Gohan, whispering to each other about his strength again. Gohan then seemed to look awkward, and a blush creeping across his face.

“Come on, let’s go outside before we even discuss this whole event.” Gohan muttered, sounding embarrassed.

Before we could agree, he had already picked us both up one arm each, and went ploughing through the crowds. Not like Videl, he waited until people moved, but people moved quickly knowing his true strength.

When we were just about to head out the door, Gohan got a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to see Jasper, Jess’ boyfriend.

“Mate, can you put my girlfriend down?” Jasper said, trying to keep cool but looked really angry.

“Uh yeah, sure.” Gohan replied nervously, immediately releasing her from his arm.

Jasper said no reply, but quickly stalked off, dragging Jess away from him. I glared at his back as he moved away.

“He’s usually not like that. I don’t know his problem.” I informed Gohan.

Gohan just shrugged as a response.

“So, it’s 3.15. My parents get home at 6.30 and 7.00 respectively. Want to hang out?” I asked Gohan cheekily.

“You mean alone, in your house?” Gohan asked nervously.

“Uh, ya.” I replied, cocking up an eyebrow.

I was sitting in my living room with Gohan; a DVD was playing on our relatively large television. Gohan was watching, but I was tapping my fingers on my lap and looking around the room, feeling awkward.

I think I needed to ask Gohan how he felt about. This was seriously beginning to eat me up inside, and I couldn’t just brush my feelings under the carpet.

I paused the television, and turned to Gohan.

“Um Gohan, I’m sorry to ask this but I feel I can no longer ignore our kiss at Capsule Corp. What are we?” I said, biting my lip and letting a deep breath out after I asked.

“Oh god Charlotte, I’ve been wanting to discuss this too. I’ve just been too…” Gohan started but I cut him off.

“Nervous?”

“Yes! Like I was scared you wouldn’t-“

“Feel the same way?”

“Yeah. The truth is that I’m absolutely crazy about you. It just seemed like things weren’t going to work, well truth be told I was scared things weren’t going to work. I’m just used to girls who like me making the first move. I should probably man up and ask how you feel, after all you’re the one who’s had bad experiences in the past…” Gohan said, scratching his neck nervously.

I put a finger over Gohan’s lips.

“Don’t you dare compare yourself to Seto Kaiba. You’re ten times better, and I know I can trust you. You’re incredibly sweet, and I know you’d never hurt me. I really like you, Gohan.” I smiled, trying to contain my excitement.

“Should I kiss you now?” Gohan asked modestly.

I nodded my head, but before we could even inch in I heard the doorbell ring.

“How about I get that, get the person to leave us alone so we can be together for the rest of the afternoon and then take off where we left off?” I asked seductively.

Gohan just bit his lip and sent me a nod.

I got up to get the door, putting on an angry personality, ready to get angry with the person who interrupted Gohan and I. But that faded away quickly when I opened up the door to see a tearful Jess looking back at me.
