It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter sixteen

“Dad, what’s wrong?” Gohan asked fiercely, and although I could see worry in his eyes he was keeping a strong front.

“Hello son. I take it these two are Ishizu and Marik?” Goku asked Gohan, flickering his eyes over Ishizu and Marik.

I could see how serious Goku was. I had only met him once but he seemed light hearted and goofy. Gohan had also told me a lot about his dad. This was not his usual demeanour.

Ishizu bowed very low whilst Marik got on his knees.

“Goku Son, many respects for you. The world owes you a lot.” Ishizu said, slowly coming up from her bow as Marik got off his knees.

“Awww shucks, it was nothing.” Goku said, his normal personality shining through for a second as he rubbed the back of his neck, laughing goofily.

In a split second he went back to serious though, as he knew Ishizu meant business and the conversation turned heavy again.

“Mr. Popo has requested that I assemble all of the Z Warriors onto Kami’s lookout in order to have a meeting about this current threat. Son, will you come with me?” Goku asked Gohan.

“Yes, Dad.” Gohan said, without hesitating.

“Shouldn’t we also invite Yugi Motou and his gang? They’re just as much part of this issue as the Z Warriors are, they’ll know how to protect the millennium items most effectively.” I suggested.

“Yes Charlotte, but we must assemble them first. As we speak they are travelling to Satan City by train, at my request. We have a special mission for you alone, and then we can all travel to Kami’s Lookout.” Ishizu stated.

“I uh, okay. I guess if I’m involved I’ll be joining you guys soon?” I said in confusion, looking at Goku and Gohan shrugging.

Gohan said nothing, but stepped forward to give me a hug.

“Although the unfortunate circumstances, I’m glad I have you in my life. I’m glad I can share this with you.” Gohan said to me.

“Thanks. Go on, I’ll see you soon. I must complete my special mission.” I laughed, breaking the hug.

Goku wrapped one arm around his son’s shoulder, and put two fingers on his forehead. Gohan waved goodbye, and in a split second they had disappeared.

“You know, if I were a weaker person I’d faint. But I’m not, so let’s go on this special mission of yours.” Jess grinned, whacking me hard in the back of the shoulder.

“We should probably head off to Satan City railway station. Yugi, Joey, Tea and Tristan will be there soon.” Marik stated.

I wasn’t sure how to feel as we were waiting outside platform 1 of Satan City train station. The last time I properly spoke to one of the gang was Joey, who told me not to come running back to them after Kaiba and I broke up.

We barely had spoken when I was going out with Kaiba. They made it pretty clear it was them or him, and because I had to make a choice I chose Kaiba.

I had missed them all though. Tea had always been my best friend since I could remember, and we had so many memories together. We used to live at each other’s houses every weekend, and we shared everything. Yugi came along in junior high, and at the start of high school with Joey and Tristan we became the fabulous five.

I had tried so hard to forget them I actually succeeded, and it wasn’t until now I realised how much they meant to me and how much I missed them. I hadn’t felt this way since before Kaiba and I dated.

I was pondering things like who was dating who, what was happening in Domino, how were the duel monsters tournaments going. Then I’d ponder things on my end. Would they think Gohan was a better match for me than Kaiba? Would Jess get along with them?

Then I’d remember we didn’t end on the best terms, and my stomach would fall.

Jess was busy chatting with Marik, so she was no help in unnerving me. Ishizu was just staring at the clock, which said how many minutes until the train arrived – 2 minutes. So she was making me stare at that too. Resulting in me being even more nervous.

Finally the train announcement came on, and the train could be heard as it chugged into the station. I could hear the sounds of the doors opening, and people were rolling out of the carriages.

People then began to exit the station, and after all the people cleared out I could see four distinctive people.

Yugi, Joey, Tea and Tristan.

Marik and Jess stopped talking in order to focus on the foursome in front of us.

Nobody said a word. Both parties were too intent on staring at each other, daring the other to make the first move.

The first person to move was Joey. He walked up in front of me, giving me a stern look. No emotion was to be had on his face.

I gulped as he opened his mouth, ready to face whatever was coming to me from him.
