It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter nineteen

The scene around us was a restaurant. Not just a casual restaurant, or a casual café. Nope, it was an expensive restaurant filled with soft lighting, romantic music and squished tables and chairs with a candle on each table. A typical romantic restaurant that was quite pricey, so it was no surprise that Seto Kaiba would bring a date here.

His date though, that was the big surprise.

“Videl?” Gohan asked, in disbelief.

The way he said her name, he strained his voice and I shot him a sidewards-dirty look. It seemed almost hurtful; like he was hurting she was on a date with Seto.

But at the same time I stayed silent, knowing I’d use the same voice if I spoke up.

“What are you both doing here? Go be happy elsewhere.” Videl snapped at us.

“Gee, isn’t this awkward,” Goku laughed, pointing out the obvious “Sorry to bother you both, but you’re both needed.”

“Excuse me but I do not care what you require of us, I have no idea how you appeared at our table but you’re being quite rude, and all of you are unwarranted in my presence. I’m not sure what you want Charlotte, but we are done, we have been done for a while and I am sure you quite remember the part when I told you we didn’t have anything real.” Kaiba bitterly stated towards me.

“Harsh, too bad it’s not me that requires your services. So please kindly get over yourself.” I snarled at him.

“What do you guys require, then?” Videl asked, giving an uneasy look to Goku.

As Gohan’s ex she must know the powers Goku has, and probably knows about the Z Warriors and that if both of them are needed, some serious stuff was about to go down.

“It’s really bad Videl. I’m sorry to interrupt your date, I really do feel bad. It’s just that the Red Ribbon Army, an evil organisation that existed before we were even alive are out to get both the dragon balls AND the millennium items. This could mean the end of the world.” Gohan said to Videl, taking the mature approach.

“Yeah, if you guys help us out, you can go back to your date. If not, the world will end and there will be no date. Take your pick.” I stated, not feeling as calm as Gohan about the situation.

I was just hoping it was their rudeness and the fact they wouldn’t comply, and not the fact that Videl, a girl who took an intense disliking to me, and my idiot ex boyfriend were on a date. Together.

“I-ok.” Videl stuttered, coming to terms with what we were saying.

Seto however, seemed disgusted by this.

“Videl, you can’t be serious! You can’t believe what these clowns are saying. I bet Yugi and his gang are in on this, correct? You can’t believe in silly magic tricks. You should know, it’s your father who always goes around publically stating and pointing out tricks, something I admire him for.” Seto said to Videl.

She looked a little uneasy after this. She kept looking between Kaiba, and us and I knew what was exactly going through her head. She believed us, but she didn’t want Kaiba to know that because he’d think lower of her, she didn’t know what to do.

“God, stop manipulating girls minds, you prick. Let her make up her own mind, or at least see the proof before disowning our theory, idiot.” I hissed at Kaiba.

Gohan then sent a wink to Goku and I, before approaching the table even closer and wrapping his arms around both Kaiba and Videl’s shoulders.

“Guys, can’t we all just get along?” Gohan said, nodding his head towards himself.

I get what he’s trying to say. Because they both weren’t going to willingly come with us, Goku needed to grab me and then grab either one of them to automatically teleport us back to Kami’s Lookout. Well played.

I notice Kaiba was trying to throw Gohan off him, but was unable to due to Gohan’s strength being stronger. This was amazing, I had never seen anybody stronger than Kaiba before, and it looked as if he wasn’t even moving, Gohan was so much stronger than Kaiba. Then again, Gohan was the one to defeat Cell.

Goku just stood there, unable to take Gohan’s hint.

I sighed, but smiled and shook my head at Goku’s naivety.

I lead him over by the arm to where Gohan was standing. I put his hand on Gohan’s shoulder, and then put my own.

“Desperate times call for desperate measures. We’re just going to have to take them both kicking and screaming. Maybe if we take them both to Kami’s Lookout and explain the situation, they might help us.” I said to Goku.

His face then lit up and he nodded, finally understanding our plan.

Seconds later the scenery changed, and the familiar feeling of tiles and warm, pleasant air surrounded me. In the past twenty or so minutes I had travelled miles and miles (Satan City, Kami’s Lookout in the sky, Domino City and then back to Kami’s Lookout) yet I had only taken a few steps in this time. This was amazing.

Everyone around us blinked when they realised we had bought back not just Kaiba, but an extra passenger.

“Wow, Kaiba has a new girlfriend? Who thought anyone would be willing to go out with him again. This is weird.” Tea stated out loud.

“Kaiba…that’s Charlotte’s ex right? And Videl is Gohan’s ex. So Charlotte’s ex Kaiba is seeing Gohan, her current boyfriend’s ex, Videl. The plot thickens.” Jess smirked.

“HAHAHA! That makes things even more awkward.” Tristan laughed, but earned a smack from Tea.

“If all you fools are finished with speaking, can we please get onto the real business and stop fooling around?” Vegeta huffed, crossing his arms in an annoyed fashion.

“I have no idea what you fools are on about and how I got here, but be prepared to hear from my lawyers because the only way I could get here would be me consuming some sort of explicit substance without my knowledge,” Kaiba growled, looking around but then setting his eyes on Yugi and the gang “Don’t tell me this has to do with your hocus pocus nonsense.”

“If you’re saying it’s similar to that stuff, you’re admitting some weird stuff has happened you can’t explain with your science, and this is one of them.” I snorted at Kaiba.

“That statement didn’t even make sense.” Kaiba bit back.

“It’s not meant to make sense. This is a dream. The purpose of this dream is to play along and solve the problems that arise. It’s like…brainpower. It’s exercising your brain. It’s just a game, like the duel monsters you play. You’re doing problem solving, but at the same time overcoming mental problems so you can get over them and they can never hurt you again. Got it? I’m nothing more than a problem to solve, and I will go away once you wake up.” I said, making it up as I went along.

I was right though. I never wanted to see Kaiba again, and once this problem was over, dream or not, I would go away.

“I don’t need to exercise my brain whilst sleeping, but anything to shut you up and make you disappear.” Kaiba muttered.

“Nice thinking, I wouldn’t have been able to state something like that in such a quick fashion. It must have taken a bit of strength too.” Gohan whispered, squeezing my hand.

“Alright, we’ve got the pansy boy on our side. Can we PLEASE get to the part where me and my gun get to shoot people?” Launch said, taking out her machine gun and stroking it.

Mr. Popo looked around the room, and then noticed everyone was listening and waiting for further instructions. We had finally all come together, and were all ready to do what was required of us for the task at hand.

This is it. We’re now as ready as we’ll ever be.
