It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter twenty seven

“My name is Colonel Silver, as we’ve established. However I feel I must introduce myself before we proceed. I am sorry for my men taking you as violently as they did. I didn’t ask them to, or even take you against your will. So before we continue anything, you’re free to leave. The door isn’t locked behind me or anything. You can leave right now.” Silver stated to me.

I looked at the door, then back to him. I was tempted to get up and wander out, but bad guys who kidnap girls do not let her get away. This would probably be a trap, where he would grab me and slam me against the wall and say ‘that’s for disobeying me, you’re to never do that again’ or something along the lines of that, to try and scare me into not doing it again.

Well, that’s how every kidnapping story I’ve seen on TV or read in books always said. Just looking at his muscles gave me seconds thoughts on leaving this room.

“Aw, it’s okay. Don’t feel scared. I can escort you to the front if you want. I know the circumstances make me look like a bad guy, but I can assure you I’m not.” Silver stated to me, as if reading my thoughts.

“It’s okay.” I meekly replied.

“Are you sure? Well, fine then. But feel free to leave whenever you wish. I truly am sorry for the way my men bought you here. Shall I go on with my explanation?” Silver asked me.

“I suppose so.” I replied, not really being enthusiastic but knowing I really had no choice in the matter.

“I was apart of the Red Ribbon Army a long, long time ago. When that Goku person was just a child. He easily defeated me, and the leader, Commander Red ordered my execution. I was able to push off his guards and make my escape easily. I grew old, very bitter at my defeat. However, I did not grow bitter towards Goku. I knew I was not the best, and trained in secret. I was bitter towards my treatment of an army I was so loyal to. Are you following me?” Silver asked me.

I only nodded my head in response, not wanting to interrupt too badly.

“Not many people survived Goku’s ordeal. General Copper was not on base and was left unscathed, General White was thrown by android eight, he was left disabled and in a wheelchair but he survived. Colonel Violet was only in the army for the money and flew away unharmed, and of course Dr. Gero was off base as well, and bitterly created many more androids to go after Goku.” Silver explained.

“This was a big army? Wow. I’m shocked there weren’t that many survivors.” I exclaimed.

“True. If Goku was able to single headedly defeat a large and powerful army by himself, we don’t stand a chance with all of his powerful friends. But that’s okay, I’m only in this little mission for my own personal benefit.” Silver said, and looked distracted for a second, probably to ponder about this so called ‘personal benefit’

“What do you get out of it then?” I asked, my impatience and curiousity beginning to show.

I winced, expecting Silver to be annoyed, but in fact it just made him happier.

“It’s simple. I just want to take the Red Ribbon Army, well, mostly Commander Red down. The problem was, because of Goku and company I was unable to find the dragon balls myself. I had to enlist White and Copper’s help, and the entire time had to become quite the actor and pretend I had loyalties within the army. I could see right through White, he had ambitions such as my own, and made it quite obvious. But both White and Copper never saw through me. In fact, they still don’t.” Silver explained.

“I guess this is the part where you explain why you grabbed me?” I weakly smiled.

“Correct. I didn’t mean to grab you, as I said my men disobeyed my orders. I needed someone unbiased, someone who knew the ‘Z Warriors’ as they’ve been known as recently, but someone who would still have an open mind. I knew that person was you. The plan was for the men to encourage you to come of your own free will and I’d explain myself to you.” Colonel Silver stated.

“I’m here. And I’m listening, and I’m interested. I’m not going to walk out. So go ahead.” I smiled.

“Right. I won’t waste any of your time I don’t have to,” Silver said “I’m against the Red Ribbon Army just as much as your team is. Whilst I don’t propose we team up, I just wanted you to know I’m not the enemy and not to waste time on me. I have my own methods of keeping the Red Ribbon Army at bay, and that’s my only goal.” Silver said to me.

“How so?” I asked him, cocking up an eyebrow.

“Hmm…you seem like a nice girl, Charlotte. How about we go for my office for a bit more of a chat, then I can lead you back out of this base and to your friends?” Silver proposed.

I studied him for a second. He looked sincere. No cheap tricks. He was proving himself to be reliable and trustworthy, and I felt I could believe him. He was calm and well mannered, and made no attempts to harm me.

Even so, it’s not like I had much of a choice either. I had to go with him whether I liked it or not.

“Okay, sounds good.” I replied.

He then helped me off the bed I was now sitting on, and left his fingers lingering on my hands for a short while.

“You have soft hands. It must be nice, my hands have grown rough and calloused from all the activity I do.” Silver stated.

“I’m not the one touching them, I wouldn’t know.” I shrugged, becoming a little uncomfortable with the turn of this conversation.

He felt my discomfort as we walked, and he remained silent as we walked through this base.

It was plain, and the only things around were sandy walls. There were a few lights to light up the passageway too. There were a few doors along the way too, but I didn’t ask what was on the other side of them.

We eventually wound up outside one of the doors. He pulled a set of keys out of his trench coat pocket, and even though there were lots of keys on his ring he managed to grab the right one instantly, unlocking the door and opening it for me.

I stepped through, and looked at the office. It had an aged desk, with an aged wooden chair. On top of the desk was some very old looking radio equipment, with a very modern computer hooked up to it. It looked so strange, the room looked decades old, with a new piece of machinery standing out.

“This room contained new furniture and equipment when your parents would have been babies.” Silver proudly stated.

“So it’s true. The Red Ribbon Army wished to be taken back to their prime? How old are you really?” I asked, cocking up an eyebrow.

“Twenty three. That’s how I really am, my physical and my mental self were taken back to twenty three.” Silver informed me.

I decided not to press on. He obviously didn’t want to talk about how old he really was, and judging by how old this room was, it would creep me out to know how old he really was.

I’d also rather just get down to business, which is what we were about to do.
