It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter thirty

Apparently all the Red Ribbon army bases had been destroyed. None of them were answering their radios, so Silver sent his men to go and check them out. His men flew to every base, including the headquarters, and they were all destroyed with no survivors.

This was good for everyone. With the exception of Silver, they were all dead this time around. This meant that nobody could ever wish for the army to come back, as barbaric as it may be that so many had to die.

“You know, it’s kind of weird that Gohan hasn’t even contacted you. It seems the base was destroyed early in the hours of the morning, and it’s nearly mid afternoon. You’d think he would want to pick you up ASAP.” Silver stated to me.

“True, but I’m sure something came up, or they have to finish off some business or something. It’s not like him to completely forget about me.” I replied.

“You know the boy a lot better than I do, so I won’t make any judgment calls. I just suggest you perhaps call him again sometime soon to remind him that you’re out here stranded and that I have something that he needs.” Silver suggested.

“Maybe, I don’t know. My full trust is with Gohan, I’m sure he’s doing something noble and will come later.” I argued, and Silver went silent, as he knew it was time to back down.

“So. We really have nothing to do until Gohan and his friends arrive, and we can decide what to do regarding these Millennium scales then. Is there anything you’d like to do while we wait?” Silver asked me.

“Um, I don’t know. There’s not that much to do around here, no offense.” I admitted.

“None taken,” Silver said, before sliding across the table and occupying the seat next to me “You are a very pretty girl, Charlotte.”

I raised my eyebrows. Now he was coming onto me? This was a little too cliché.

However, that mindset got me feeling a little uncomfortable. It was cliché for a reason. The kidnapper was an evil guy who’s never had any female action for a long time, and is craving it. My situation highlighted that, as not too long before he was an old man, and probably hadn’t gotten “any” in years.

Eep. He also happens to be very strong, and there’s no way I could ever outrun him or fight him off.

Instead of being the cliché idiot in these situations, I’d keep it cool and play it off. He hadn’t made a move yet, so I was in the all clear for now. But I had to keep on my toes and anticipate what may happen.

“Thanks…you know what, there is something to do. We can go outside, I think I need fresh air.” I quickly replied.

It might not be that much safer outside, but it was still safer than in here. I had room to run away, as futile as that may be.

There was also the slightest chance that someone could rescue me. Not much of a chance inside.

Futile, yes. But I needed to keep thinking rationally. Panicking would do no good, nor convincing myself for comfort that everything was okay.

“Your wish is my command.” He smirked, taking my arm and leading me outside.

As we hit the hot, sandy weather on the inside I realised I hadn’t been outside since I was captured.

My capture…it’s all just a little odd. He said he didn’t mean for his men to take me against my will, but what does that mean? Why did he want me in the first place? I’m sure he could have come to us and explained himself. He also didn’t say anything to his men, not in my presence anyway.

He did offer to let me go, so I don’t know. Maybe I’m over analysing everything. But at the same time, this was all a little odd. I don’t feel so safe around him anymore.

“So…what do you want to do?” Silver asked, smirking as he took a step towards me.

“Um, I don’t know. How about a walk?” I suggested, not knowing where to go from here.

“Do you like long romantic walks in the sand then?” Silver asked me, a creepy smile on his face.

“No, I hate them. I just need exercise.” I replied bitterly, my face scrunching up. It was a weak defence, but I had no idea what else to say.

Silver then went to reply, but his face fell instantly. I had no idea why he had this reaction; maybe it was from my reply?

He then reached out in front of me, putting his arm in front of me to stop me from continuing further.

I was waiting for him to say something along the lines of ‘it is unsafe to go further’ that didn’t happen. Instead, he grabbed onto me and dragged me along, as he ran back towards the base.

As I was completely stunned about what was currently happening, I was going much faster. My legs were also much smaller than his legs are. Therefore, it felt my arm was being pulled out of its socket and I was in heaps of pain.

I went to yell out a yelp, but he fastened his hand over my mouth.

I then let panic mode kick in

As he dragged me back towards the base I tried to stop, and began to bite, kick and punch him with my free hand. This was useless, but I was now panicking and not being myself. I was left completely blind to the danger ahead, which had caused me to react this way.

He growled as a response, and made no effort to comfort me as he continued to drag me back to his base.

He then threw me back into the room, and locked the door behind him.

Now we were alone and back in here, my panic began to melt away, being replaced with growing anger.

“What the HELL was that?” I shouted, jumping up from the chair that Silver threw me onto.

“You foolish little girl. It was a plane approaching, it was dangerous out there. We must remain in here.” Silver bit back.

“Wow, way to overreact. It was probably Gohan, or Bulma or Launch or something coming to rescue me. You didn’t have to be such a jerk about it, I had no idea what was going on.” I sulked, slumping back onto the chair again as Silver was silent.

I still didn’t really know what was going on, but either way I knew I was soon about to find out whether anything was going to happen, and whether it would be dangerous or productive.
