It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter thirty two

“Alright, so. I am curious, can we talk about this whole thing?” I asked Seto, after he had taken off.

We had been in complete silence since we left the base, until now. Which means the walk to the plane, getting in the plane; the plane going across the runway and going to the place in the sky comfortably was all in silence.

It was awkward, to say the least.

“I guess,” Seto gruffly replied “If we talk about it now, it means it never has to be mentioned again.”

“Can you please explain to me what happened after I went missing? Please.” I asked politely.

Seto let out a grumble, but then complied.

“Tea came back to Launch and I, and said you had gone missing. She panicked, but Launch and I didn’t believe it, we just believed you’d gotten yourself lost. We tried to reach you on the walkie-talkie, but it didn’t work. So we went on a search party for you, used the plane for a while and then realised something bad must have happened.” Seto said.

“You make it sound like it was my fault I got lost.” I weakly stated, a little upset at the way he was speaking. He decided to ignore this.

“We radioed the others, who stated they’d get Silver last and take care of their own missions first. So, the bases got destroyed and I got dragged along to finishing off the last one, which I completely sat out on.” Seto grumbled.

“So my safety was put last?” I asked, being upset at this.

Gohan explained it all on the phone and I knew I was being a little selfish. But it hurt to be outright told that.

“Psh, don’t blame me. When you called your little boyfriend, I offered to be let out and come save you in my own jet. But they refused, said they needed all the help they could get.” Seto explained.

“I…what…okay.” I mumbled, unable to say what I really wanted to say.

“You’re lucky I swung by actually. You’d still be stuck there if it wasn’t for me.” Seto explained.

“I know. Thank you, I really appreciate it.” I smiled.

“No, I really mean you would be stuck there. Gohan said he’d go with Launch to come rescue you after we destroyed the last base, but it seems he forgot. I swung by just in case, and luckily I did.” Seto explained.

“I’m sure something came up, and he was still busy. Gohan really likes me Seto, he wouldn’t just forget me.” I stated to Seto.

“Well, think what you want. You can be the judge when you speak to your boyfriend next. For now we’re going to Domino.” Seto shrugged.

“What? Why! I want to go where everyone else is, to see my friends. Even though only a short time has passed it feels like much longer. I need to see if they're okay!" I argued.

"You want to see friends that don't seem to care for your well being?" Seto asked, raising an eyebrow.

I just shrugged, as the anger from Seto's arguments over washed me. What I went through was emotionally and physically draining, and the only thing I really wanted as of now was sleep.

I awoke as the plane hit the runway. It was bumpy, so the shaking of the plane shook me awake. I immediately knew which building Seto had landed on, not many buildings in Japan had a run way on top.

"What are we doing here?" I curiously asked Seto.

"I am going to transport you to my house, and then I will get my doctors to give you a check up. After observation you're free to leave." Seto growled at me.

"What?! No way. I'm getting Gohan's dad to pick me up, then I'll go to a hospital in Satan City. I really just want to go home right now." I weakly smiled, trying to show Seto I was appreciative of what he had done, but I could take it from here.

"You are home." Seto stated.

"Not anymore, Seto. Not after everything that happened. Even though a lot has been patched up, I still don't feel homely here. I'll feel like this journey is over once I'm back in Satan City.

"Whatever you say." Seto grumbled, as he unbuckled his seatbelt, turned the plane off and opened the doors.

I didn't hesitate to jump out of the plane.

"Why do you care, anyway? I'm sorry I don't mean to sound rude but I really am wondering. We had a relationship a while ago, you admitted to me it was all show and you felt nothing for me. Why suddenly care and do all of this for me?" I asked Seto, turning around to face him as we began to walk towards the door at the top.

Seto was silent, and ignored my question. I didn't press on as we walked through the building, making our way to the elevator, ready to pass through twelve floors.

It was when we began to walk towards his limo when I finally got a reply.

"Because I feel protective of you still." He calmly replied.

I smiled a little. He wouldn't do any of this for anyone else but Mokuba, which means he cared about me, even just a little.

It gave me something I'd never had with Seto before. Closure. Hate and bitterness I'd kept for Seto melted away there and then. My relationship with Seto wasn't a complete waste; he held some feelings for me after all.

"Alright, here's the deal. I'll go with you back to your house to be given a check up. Then I'll contact all my friends to make sure they're okay. Then I'll ask Gohan to get his dad to pick me up, and we can close off this ordeal forever. What do you say?" I asked Seto.

"Charlotte Judge, you've got yourself a deal." Seto stated, and did something I've seen Seto do so rarely. Smile.
