It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter nine

Gohan then led me through Capsule Corp. until we ended up outside. I sat down on a bench, and Gohan sat next to me.

“Look, you don’t need to tell me anything. It’s okay, Charlotte. There are a lot of things you don’t know about me.” Gohan said to me.

“And you don’t need to tell me about those either. Just, this Seto thing is a recent thing, and a big part of the move. I just wanted to forget who I was, and start new. Sorry.” I weakly smiled.

“I’m not mad. I promise. He seems like the biggest jerk, if I were you I’d want to forgot him too.” Gohan smiled back.

“Well then, I’m glad you see eye to eye.” I said to Gohan, breathing a sigh of relief.

“I wish I could be like you. Just forgot my past and my ex. But factors come into it, like going to the same school and being in the same friendship group.” Gohan said, and I swore I heard him let out a sigh.

“I-I feel guilty now. I’ve kind of let the politics of Orange Star High hinder me from being closer with you at school. I should probably tell Jess to get stuffed, and that she should accept me being friends with you. Sorry.” I apologised to Gohan.

“Don’t worry about it. It’s alright. Jess is, pretty harsh.” Gohan chuckled.

I sent him a smile, and subconsciously moved myself closer to him. Before we could continue our conversation however, gunshots were heard going off.

I quickly moved even closer to Gohan, holding onto him for dear life. A few moments later, the gunshots stopped.

I noticed a woman make her way to us from the path that led outside. As she got closer, I could take in her features.

She had bushy blonde hair, and quite pale skin. A red ribbon was in her hair, and she was quite tall. She was wearing a lime green tank top, with yellow short shorts that showed her midriff.

“Oi! Are you that Charlotte girl that loser was muttering about?” The girl asked.

She said in a way that was not meant to be completely rude, but it was far from kind. I guess you could say it just lacked politeness.

Alongside this though, was a very distinctive Brooklyn accent. It made me sigh and I felt a stab in my stomach. Everything about her reminded me of Joey. The blonde hair, the mannerism and the accent. I never realised how much I missed Joey until now.

“Yeah, I’m Charlotte. Who’s the loser?” I asked her.

“Oh, some loser with brown hair and blue eyes. He was muttering about some failed deal with the Brief family and then kept going on about some girl called Charlotte – you. I think he’s a bit of a pussy, so I shot him a few times with my machine gun. I think that toughened him up!” The blonde woman said, showing off her machine gun proudly.

I looked between Gohan, the woman and Gohan again. Did this woman really shoot Seto Kaiba because she thought he was being too much of a ‘pussy’? Where can I join this woman’s fan club?

“Believe everything she’s saying, Charlotte. This is Launch, she’s with Tien. She does have the ability to pull out her gun at any time, and it’s apparently come in handy a few times.” Gohan said, introducing us.

“Damn straight my guns always come in handy! Well I’m off to find Tien, if you ever need somebody to toughen someone else up or if anybody hassles ya, let me know!” Launch grinned proudly, and then proceeded to make her way inside Capsule Corp.

As soon as she was out of sight, I burst out laughing. What a character!

“Launch is pretty amusing. I haven’t seen her much, she’s with Tien and Chiaotzu and they’re recluses. She used to live with Master Roshi when my dad was a kid though. Whenever she sneezes, her personality changes. Her other personality is a lovely blue haired woman.” Gohan chuckled as he explained.

He gave me a weird look as he announced the last part though, as if I wouldn’t believe him that someone would have such a disorder. Of course I did though. Anything is possible when one of your old best friends has something similar, but instead a 5000-year-old pharaoh would take over their body.

I just nodded and giggled as response, which seemed to relieve Gohan.

“So um, where were we?” Gohan asked nervously.

I decided it was now time to flirt. Gohan and I were doing well at the moment, now was a good of time as any.

“I believe I latched onto you when I heard Launch’s gunshots. Should I go from there?” I cheekily grinned.

“Oh u-u-um.” Gohan stuttered, unable to come up with an answer.

Before he could give a proper answer, I quickly latched onto Gohan again, and sent him a flirty smile.

He gave an adorable blush back to my action.

“I can move if you want?” I suggested, half in a flirty cheek way, but halfly because I didn’t want to make him feel uncomfortable.

“No, don’t worry about it. It’s okay, I um, kind of like this.” Gohan smiled back.

I said nothing as I put my head on Gohan’s shoulder, moving my arms around him to resemble more of a hug than me latching onto him.

He kind of relaxed his own arms, as he moved them onto my back. He moved his head to rest on top of mine, and I believe he subconsciously began to rub one of his hands up and down my back.

I stayed like this, not wanting to break away from this intimate moment. After what I guessed was 5 minutes, I slowly moved my head up, ready to go for the kill.

“Hey, Gohan?” I asked him.

“Hmm?” He asked, moving his own head to become eye level with myself.

“This.” I smiled.

Then I went in for the kill. I moved closer to him moderately speedy, until my lips were upon his.

I loved Launch, I was so disappointed she only made very few brief appearances in DBZ.
