Expectations.
and i ask myself,
Presley sucks in a breath, realising the mistake she had just made.
She feels like everyone in the van is staring at her, judging her. “I-I,” the tears that had just slowed started back once again and she wipes angrily at them.
“It’s okay,” Vic says, rubbing her back to soothe her, seeing as he is one of the only ones in the group who has personally dealt with self harm.
“No, it’s not. No one was supposed to find out. Alan especially.” All of the group look at the man who is now propped up against the back of the passenger seat and Austin looks down at his hands guiltily.
“Sorry about that, Pres.” She shrugs it off, swiping under her eyes for any makeup that may have smeared. The attempt is futile seeing as how the makeup wasn’t waterproof and that she had done quite a bit of crying tonight.
Alan groans, his hands raising to his jaw as he wake up. “What the hell happe- Presley.”
His eyes fly open and he searches for her face, frantic. “Are you okay?” He isn’t concerned about his own well being, but hers. The gesture touches her and so does the ‘aw’ face Sage pulls. P almost cries again in relief, but settles for basically attacking Alan with a hug instead.
“It’s okay, babe. It’s okay.” They embrace and everyone else piles out of the van except for Austin who mouths a ‘I’m sorry’ to Alan who nods. He too leaves.
“I never meant for you to find out like that.” She mumbles into his neck. He pulls her closer, kissing the top of her head.
“I know, baby. I know.” He pulls back from the embrace slightly and tilts her head back so she looks directly into his eyes.
He leans in and she does too, her eyes slowly fluttering closed.
The kiss is slow and sweet and just the right amount of perfect to make Presley’s heart sing.
“Presley?” He asks a countless amount of time later. It could have been thirty minutes, it could have been two hours. They didn’t really care.
“Yeah, Allycat?” The nickname is so innocent and so sweet that Alan smiles even wider than before.
“Will you be my girlfriend?”
