Good Deeds

I will never get used to it. Nothing can compare to the knowledge that your next action will decide whether or not the person before you lives or dies. It all rests on my shoulders, the heavy decisions that I have to make within a split second before it becomes too late. I am walking on an unsteady tightrope, and if I make the wrong call, I fall off and they die. There is so much guilt on my conscience from making the wrong choice, or taking too long. But I have also saved so many. Some days though, it doesn’t feel as though my good deeds outweigh my sins.
