Hi Mags,
Your mommy can’t help it to be sick. I’m sure she didn’t mean to spank you or make you think she’s mad at you. Bipolar disorder is when you feel like you have so much energy. You have lots of thoughts running right through your head that you don’t know what to do. You can’t sleep but you don’t feel tired at all. That’s called hypomania.
But I promise you Maggie… your mommy will get better someday when the doctors find the right medication to keep her bipolar disorder in check. Medication is something that some sick people need to get better. Like when you got your cough medicine, it’s a lot like that.
However… You shouldn’t hit people. Especially your sister. I’m sure she was trying to explain it to you. Don’t be sad.
