Once Upon A Time

Her father tries to loosen her grip but fails. He is increasingly getting more frustrated with her. " Unhand me you heathen! " He yells his face beginning to turn a bright scarlet. She laughs and glares at him. He tries to slap her but she catches his hand and head butts him into the far wall. " Why do you beat me father ? " She asked him her smile fading to a frown. All he did was stare. Stare into her hazel eyes. She's not the little girl that just took the beatings anymore. She is strong. Confident. Brave. She releases him and sits back down in her chair. She begins to brush her hair. She looks our her window again.She peered out and saw beautiful blue skies. She heard singing birds. She smelled the empowering scent of fresh roses . She felt free. Free of being held back from claiming her full potential. Free from lies and brutality. Free from fear.
