Cahpter 1: Decisions

Adrienne's P.O.V.

I sat on the couch in my brother's apartment as he made dinner for me and a few of his teammates that decided to come over. I turned the TV on and saw that the Bruins were playing the Penguins and I smiled, I didn't love the Penguins but I liked watching them play. I looked over and saw Max Talbot, Wayne Simmonds, and Scott Hartnell walking over to watch the game.
"Flower!" Max exclaimed when he saw his former teammate on the screen. I knew that Max and Fleury had a close relationship when Max played for the Penguins. I smiled as Max leaned closer to the TV once he realized who the Penguins were playing.
"Do you miss them?" I asked Max and he looked at me with a sad smile and a nod
"I miss them, especially Flower," he sighed "but the Flyers aren't so bad." he grinned as Scott put him in a headlock, I laughed at the childish hockey players and stood up to help Claude in the kitchen.
"Need any help?" I asked as I saw the grilled chicken he was making, he turned around with a smile and glanced over to the table and I rolled my eyes "Why do you think I can't cook?"
"Because you can't" he teased and I shoved him playfully but went to set the table anyway. One time Claude wanted me to help make dinner and I burned it so he hasn't let me cook since then. I placed everything on the table then went back to the couch and sat on Max's lap as we watched the last 10 minutes of the game. Max and I were good friends but that's it, there isn't anything going on between us and there never will be. He's like a brother to me.
"Merde Flower." Max cursed in French when Fleury let a goal in and I smacked his head, he groaned and Scott just chuckled. "Ow Adrienne, that hurt." Max pouted and I rolled my eyes and hopped off his lap
"Don't curse, you seem to forget that I can speak French Max, I know what you said." I muttered
"I didn't even say anything that bad! All I said was dammit!" he defended
"You're in the presence of a lady Max, you're not supposed to swear." Wayne reminded Max
"A lady?!" Max exclaimed "Come on guys this is G's sister." he groaned and I laughed as we walked over to the table for dinner.
"Smells great Claude," I grinned "it would smell better if you'd let me cook for once."
"No, it would smell burnt if I let you cook." Claude mumbled and I stuck my tongue out at him, as much as Claude made me angry I could never stay mad at him, he's my only brother. Yeah we've got a sister but Isabelle and I don't have the best relationship anymore...not since high school.
"You ever think of getting a job Adrienne?" Max teased
"Oh like a stripper?" I asked in a high pitched voice "No thanks Max, I'll find something sooner or later." I shrugged
"Hopefully soon," Claude said and I nodded, after dinner the boys left and Brayden Schenn came home from wherever the hell he went.

Before I went to bed I knocked on Claude's door and he grunted in response meaning I could come in. I walked in and sat on the bed next to him
"Can I talk to you about something Claude?" I frowned and he sat up once he saw my face
"Of course you can petite soeur." he whispered and I sighed, I had to do this...I'd feel bad if I didn't.
"I think I need to move out, live on my own. I know you said I could stay as long as I'd like but I don't like the fact that you pay for everything...it makes me feel like I'm using you for your money Claude." I groaned and he hugged me
"Adrienne, trust me when I say that I don't mind helping you out. You're my little sister and I love you...you can still get a job and live here. You don't need to move out." he said with a frown
"Claude...I feel like all I do is mooch off of your money, I need to live on my own. I mean yeah when I moved out I thought I could make it but I didn't know what I was doing then, I didn't want to go back to mom and dad and we both know Isabelle and I don't get along so I came to seek help from you. Well now I think I need to leave again...try it on my own for real this time." I said, my voice raising and I could tell Claude was getting angry
"When you first moved out what did you spend your money on Adrienne? You went out to get drunk every damn night! When you begged me to take you in I could've said no but you're my sister and I wanted to help you so I said yes! You have no money Adrienne, how are you going to find a place to live when you have absolutely no money?!" he growled
"Whatever." I muttered and walked out of his room, I grabbed my phone and went through my contacts and stopped once I found her name, she would for sure let me stay with her until I had enough money for my own place right? I dialed her number and waited for her to answer
"Hello?" I heard her tired voice yawn
"Hey," I smiled "It's Adrienne, sorry if I woke you. Do you still have an extra bedroom in your apartment?"

Well there's chapter one...kinda short and sucky I know. I'm not a great writer but I love to write so feedback helps! Anyway if you have any ideas for the story then let me know! I'm going to try not to move the story too fast even though it already seems like I am but the story kinda starts in Pittsburgh so...yeah. But I do apologize in advance if it goes fast...I'm an impatient person and sometimes it really shows in my writing. I'll probably put up a couple chapters today and tomorrow because I want to get my ideas down while I still have them.

Black and Gold till I'm dead and cold! Go Bruins!
