Ted was sitting on the couch, watching TV. His dad came to him and sat down next to him.

"Junior is coming home tonight" he said. Ted nodded. "A friend of mine will come, it still okay?" He asked.

"Sure! She is your girlfriend?"

Ted's eyes went wide. "No! She help me with all those French lessons!"

"One of your friend is a nerd?" His father said, rising an eyebrow.

"She's not." There were a knock on the door. "That's her."

He stood up and hurried to the door. His dad followed him, curious.

"Hey Ronie!" Ted said. His father couldn't see the girl. "Hey Ted". Her voice was quiet. But he found it cute. It was almost a whisper.

Ted let her came in. And his dad could see her.

She wasn't really tall, but not short either. She had long chestnut hair that was failing beneath her chest. She was wearing a light blue dress that fell to her knees, and matching flats. She had a cute face, with big eyes. Their color was a mix between blue and green, almost like the color of the Caribbean's ocean.

She was looking down, at her hands. She seemed to be a really shy girl.

"Ronnie, meet my dad"

"Hello, Mr. Haner."

"Call me Brian!" He said with a smile. She nodded. She was feeling his gaze on her. It made her uncomfortable.

"We're going to my room!" Said Ted, as he leaded her into the house. "Don't worry, my dad is cool"
As they sat down on his bed, he took out their homework. She hadn't take anything: it was a work by group, so she didn't needed anything.

"How can you understand that shit? There is a hundred word by sentence!" She laughed quietly. "It's simple." "It's not." She smiled.

"Try word by word." She advised him.

"Why not you just translate it all?"

"Because you'll not learn anything" she said. Her voice was still not louder than a whisper. She was always talking like that.

Ted groaned. But he started working. He wasn't that bad in school. He just sucked in French." How can you understand all of that?" He asked again. "I'm french, remember?" she laughed quietly. "How french people can understand their own language?! It's impossible!"

"They don't. They make many many mistakes when they write."

"It's normal, all the word are changing all the time!"

She tilted her head, not understanding.

"Look at the verb go, Aller. In English it's just go all the time and goes with he and she. In French? Vais, vas, va, allons, aller, vont. Seriously?!"

"You just shouldn't have chosen to learn french" a voice behind them said. They turned to the guy who had spoke. Ronnie's eyes went wide, and she covered her mouth with her hand.
Why i ssynyster gate in Ted's room?!

"Hey bro!" Ted said, standing up to hug his brother.

"Can I ask why your girlfriend is looking like she had seen a ghost?" Syn asked.
"She's not my girlfriend, but I don't know."

Then it hit her. "Haner" she whispered.

"Yeah that's our last name." Syn said, rising an eyebrow. That girl seemed stupid. She blushed at his remark.

"I-I know.... I-I just never make the connection between Ted Haner and Brian Haner." She said looking at her hands.

She know me?

"You know my bro?" Ted asked, surprised. She nodded. She was admiring her own hands. She couldn't find the guts to look at him. He was her idol. She had looked up at him since she had heard one of his song.

She doesn't look like a fan of metal, but maybe she is. Well, in fact I don't give a shit. Brian thought.she seemed to be the random girl who do everything her parents told her to. The good girl who everyone loved. The kind of girl who pissed him off.

"I let you two work." He said then went away. Ronie felt sad. He seemed not to like her. She knew it was stupid. But for her the way her idol treated her, what they thought of her was really really important.

"Kids! Dinner's ready!" Ted's dad screamed.

Ronie and Ted stood up, and went down to the living room. They sat down at the table. Brian came soon after, and sat in front of her. Ted's mom next to Brian, and the father in the end of the table, between Ted and his wife.

"So, what were you doing?" Asked Ted and Brian's mom, putting the plate on the table.

"We have to translate a text then talk about it." Explained Ted. "It's by groups, and I was sitting next to Ronie. I'm lucky!" He joked. She blushed and looked at her hands.

"Why that?" Asked his mom.

"She talk french as good as English!" He explained.

Her eyes went wide. "Really? French is really difficult. All I can say is bonjour " she laughed.
"I-I'm french... I came to America when I was 15, that's why." She whispered.

Their mom nodded. Ronie couldn't help but stare at her. She seemed gentle. She smiled all the time.
"Oh shit, I forgot, I'm Samantha." Ronie nodded to her, avoiding her look. "And you are Ronie, right? It's not a french name."

"My real name is Romane. But Ted call me Ronie since forever, and now everyone know me as Ronie. But you can call me Romane or Ronie." She said quickly. She was uncomfortable, they were too much people in the room for her to be comfortable.

"And you like living in America?" Asked Brian, the father.

"Yeah, I really love it." She rose her head, and smiled widely. For a second everyone was just staring at her stunning smile. Then she blushed again and went back to glaring at her hands.

"And you know Brian? By Avenged?" He asked. She nodded. "You like that kind of music?" She nodded again. "That's cool" she nodded once again.

"Oh gosh, can you just answer him? You've got a tongue, it's for a reason!" Snapped Syn, angrily. She looked even more down. "I-I'm s-sorry" she whispered.

"Come on! Brian! Be kind with her!" Shouted Ted.

Romane hugged herself. Samantha shouted to make the brother shut up. Ronnie's hands began to shake as she heard her scream. She closed her eyes. She was afraid. People were angry. She felt a hand on her shoulder. Slowly she rose her head, to find everyone looking at her. They seemed worried. Breath, stupid girl . She took a deep breath and managed to smile. She tried to avoid everything that could .make her freak out. Calm down. Remember what he said: look at your hands and think about something that calm you down. She did it.

"It's late, I should go" she whispered.

"But we haven't finish!"Ted said.

"We'll do it tomorrow. See you" she said.

"Wait, you can't walk your way home!" Shouted Samantha.

Ronnie stopped. It was true. Her dad would never agree to let her go to Ted's again if he believed they didn't take care of her.

"Bri, can you?" Samantha asked. Syn nodded and stood up. He took his keys without a word. Then walked to the front door. Romane didn't move. She didn't know how to react. She was afraid of being with him for the ride. Alone. He didn't seemed to like her. He was already at the door. He sighed, looking at her to make her hurry up. She rushed to him. Then she followed him to his car and sat on the passenger sit. As he started it, music started. A huge smiled appeared on her face as she recognized Metallica.

"Where do you live?" He asked. She told him, and he nodded, rising an eyebrow. It's where the richest live. Who's that girl?

She head banged a little with the music. "You like them too?" A hugest smiled appeared on her face. "Yeah!" She almost shouted. She blushed, realizing she had spoke so loud. She gazed at her hands again. "I'm sure you see something in your hands, I can't see." She glared at him, trying to understand. "You always look at them. To me there's things more interesting." She blushed and gazed at the road. "How a girl like you can end up listening to metal?"

"I've listening to since I'm a kid. Metallica since I'm around 12."

"And us?"

"Since waken the fallen." She was still looking at the road. But she was speaking louder and louder.
"Favorite song?"

"Too much. Scream, or unholy confession for the guitar riff. A little piece of heaven for.... well for the song. Gunslinger for the chills. Afterlife for the solo. I don't know, I love them all."
He didn't know what to think. "You seem to really like us." She couldn't help but smile. She agreed to him. He turned to look at her one second. He couldn't help but notice how gorgeous she was smiling like crazy because of his music. "I prefer that smile to your usual hiding face." She blushed and looked away. He laughed. She's cute.

"Which house?" "No need to go. Just leave me here." She went back to her usual whispering. He rolled his eyes. It was annoying him when she was whispering like that. He stopped and let her go away. She said goodbye then went away in the night. He stared at where she was for a moment then went back home.
