Diving into the Deep End

Just another day at the pool where I worked during the summer. I’d taken the job in the hopes that it would make me more responsible, but so far, the only thing it’d taught me was never to have kids, because they’d fake a drowning fit and burst into laughter when I went to rescue them. Thankfully, their parents dealt with the little brats as soon as they got out, still dripping wet and laughing hysterically.

It was only my first week, and I wanted out. Badly. Unfortunately, there were still 2 months of summer to go, and it didn’t look like anything exciting would happen anytime soon.

Except for him.

A tall, muscular boy with a few tattoos on his arm had just walked into the pool area. From the looks of it, he was about 18 or 19, close to my age. I felt a blush coming over my cheeks that was definitely not from the summer heat.
