To say Zoella Rickards was quiet would be an understatement. She was silent. Literally. She hasn’t said a word since she was 15 years old. Now she’s 17, going on 18, and she’s stuck with her silence for 3 years. She’s become pretty well at it, since no one talks to her anyway. So when her English teacher decided that she’d do a pen pal program, she decided that she would just write poems, because writing letters would count as talking, in a way, which would break her vow of silence.
