Teenage Casanova

RIGHT GIRL

You screwed up big time.

Harry closed his eyes and leaned his head back against his pillow. How could this have happened? He was usually so good with convincing the girl how interested he was and was so persuasive in saying the right things to get them to sleep with him. So why was this girl fucking everything up?

And why the hell was it bothering him so much?

He had never once admitted that he was wrong. So maybe he got slapped a few times in the past. Maybe he made a girl cry. Maybe he got yelled at. He never figured those were excuses for him to admit when he screwed up.

But now it was different. Maybe the girl was different? He wasn’t quite sure. All he knew was that he had been caught by a girl that he couldn’t get out of his head now. And he knew that this was not a good thing.

“I see you’ve managed to make it on the bed without getting yourself in a predicament,” Luca smirked as he walked into the room and tossed his jacket onto the couch. Harry groaned and pressed his hands over his eyes, still embarrassed by what had happened. “You’re not still upset about that, are you? It’s been four days, mate.”

“You don’t get it!” Harry sat up quickly, his natural, nasty attitude coming out. “She completely humiliated me, Luca! Completely. Humiliated. I have never met somebody so…so…aggravating!”

“You need to chill out, dude. You are totally stressing for no reason,” Luca shook his head as he pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it away. “She’s just some chick.”

“She’s not just some chick,” Harry mumbled, not even realizing what he had said until he had said it. Luca glanced back in his direction and raised an eyebrow. “I don’t know. There’s something about her.”

Harry couldn’t even believe that those words had just come out of his mouth. She’s not just some chick? There’s something about her? What the hell did that even mean? He must have been completely losing his mind, because he was not acting like himself. And he was not about to let this girl fuck him up.

“Don’t tell me you’ve fallen completely, head over heels in love with the girl next door,” Luca’s smile grew wide across his face as he teased his friend a bit. Harry grabbed the pillow that he was resting on just a few minutes ago and chucked it in the older boy’s direction. Luca ducked, letting the pillow fly over his head and fall onto the floor before grinning. “I was kidding, idiot. I know you better than anyone to know that love is not in the future for Harry Styles.”

“You’re damn right it’s not.”

“You’re being so defensive right now. Everyone okay in that head of yours?”

Harry would never admit it, especially to Luca, but everything was not okay. Not only had he pursued a girl that was obviously uninterested in him, but she had gotten the upper hand and caught him in the act.

She also had gotten so pissed that she thought it was a good idea to handcuff him to a bed and leave him there for four hours until Luca had returned. Why would she do that? He understood that he made her mad, but really? She had to go and humiliate him not only in front of Luca but also the girl he had brought back with him.

Harry sighed and got off the bed, dragging himself out of the bedroom. “I need a drink.”

“At 10 in the morning?”

“Why not? It’s got to be better than laying around here feeling sorry for myself,” Harry mumbled the last bit as he pulled his shoes on and grabbed a hat to cover his messy and dirty hair.

As he walked by the door he quickly stopped and paused at the mirroring, checking himself over. He looked wrecked. And worse, he didn’t look like his normal self. He was usually so clean cut and dressed to impress. But with the dark circles under his eyes and a ratty old t-shirt, he knew that something was off about him.

And he knew exactly what that something was.

He slipped out of the room without another word to Luca and found himself glancing in the direction of Kennedy’s door. It felt like it was calling out to him to come over and talk to her. But why should he? She was the one who fucked him over. Of course, that probably wouldn’t have happened if he hadn’t tried to pull one over on her. It’s still her fault.

Wasn’t it?

Harry hadn’t even realized that he was standing in front of the door and raising his hand to knock. What was he doing? Was he really about to apologize? That wasn’t like him at all. Out of all the girls he had screwed over, this one was about to change everything he’s ever known?

“First rule, never apologize. If they’re dumb enough to fall for it in the first place, then they deserve what’s coming to them.”

Harry pulled his hand down, deciding against knocking. Luca was right. Why should he apologize? He had never done it before so why should he now?

“Pathetic,” he mumbled as he turned around to walk away. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t get very far as he jumped back and smacked against the door from the surprise visitor while letting out a yell. “Holy fuck! You scared the hell out of me!”

“What do you want?” Kennedy crossed her arms and stared Harry down as if she were burning a hole right through him. He knew that she was definitely still pissed about what happened.

“I was just…” he pointed to the door, completely flustered, “…and then you…and now we…” What the hell was he even saying? Why was he so tongue-tied?

“I think you mean you were just leaving.” Kennedy pushed him out of the way and reached into her bag, searching for her door key. She pulled it out and swiped it past the lock before pushing it open.

“Kennedy, wait–” Harry reached his hand forward to hold the door open as she was shutting it, but found himself caught between a rock and a hard place. Or, in this case, his finger getting jammed in the door. He yelled out in pain and pulled his finger back, instantly sticking it in his mouth. “You just broke my finger!”

“Don’t be a baby, stupid. It’s just sore,” she rolled her eyes. “Now do you have something you want to say or can I go back to never seeing you again?”

Harry opened his mouth, but nothing came out. What was he supposed to say now? He was usually so good at thinking on the spot, but every time he looked at her his mind would completely blank.

She was this beautiful girl who hated his guts and for some reason it was driving him crazy. Why did he care so much about what she thought? If Luca were perched up in his head right now he’d probably be hitting his brain, telling him to knock it off and walk away.

But he couldn’t. No matter how much his mind was telling him to move, his feet wouldn’t budge. He stayed in that same position, his eyes focused on her and his mouth still hanging open as if he were going to say something.

“I’ll take that as a no. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some ignoring to do.” Kennedy began pushing the door back shut, but Harry stuck his hand in to stop it, this time without getting any fingers stuck.

“Wait!” Kennedy glanced back up with him, her patience wearing thin. “I was wrong,” he mumbled before his eyes widened a bit at the words that had come out of his mouth. What did he just say? Did he really admit to being wrong? There was no way that was happening. “I was wrong to have come here.” Saved that one.

She stood there as if she had just been completely offended. “Excuse me?” She opened the door a little wider, glaring at me. “That’s all you have to say? No ‘I’m sorry’? No ‘I was wrong by tricking you’?”

Harry stayed quiet and looked away, obviously not wanting to add fuel to the fire. He had already said enough.

“You’re the most infuriating person I have ever met. You know what? You were wrong to come here. I think that’s something we can both agree on.”

Harry sighed loudly as the door slammed in his face. It was expected, of course. She hated him and a part of him didn’t blame her for it. As much as he didn’t want to admit it, he messed up. He wanted to believe that she was at fault, but he knew deep down that it was him.

But was he going to admit that to anyone? Hell no.

He headed down the hall, his mind racing with thousands of different thoughts, mostly of Kennedy, when his phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out and couldn’t help but smile at the text he had gotten.

He wanted to come? That could be fun. Aside from Luca, he was missing quite a few people back home and having another friend who wanted to do something other than sleep with beautiful women could be enjoyable.

Harry was about to text back when his phone started ringing in his hands. His mom? He couldn’t think of anything she would want. They had just talked yesterday.

“Hey, mom. Everything okay?”

“Sorry to disappoint, but it’s not your mother.”

Harry’s eyes shot open at the sound of the voice on the other end. He felt his voice getting caught in the back of his throat as he tried to search for a reason he could be calling. What did he want?

“Father…I wasn’t expecting to hear from you…” Harry’s nerves were getting the best of him as he leaned against the hallway wall for support. His father had that effect on him a lot.

“I was surprised that I haven’t gotten a call to come bail you out of jail yet, so I thought I’d check up on you. I knew you wouldn’t answer the phone if I called.”

He wasn’t wrong. Harry and his old man never did see eye to eye and he knew that it would never change. So why the hell was he calling now? There shouldn’t have been anything more that needed to be said.

“I’ll take your silence that I’m right.”

“What exactly do you want, dad? I’m kind of busy here.” Harry looked up and down the hallway, nobody in sight. Well, what his dad didn’t know wouldn’t kill him.

“Still so impolite. Is that how you speak to the man who raised you? I would watch your mouth, boy.”

“Sorry, sir,” Harry sighed. “Is there something you wanted to talk about?

“I’ll cut right to the chase then. You’ve been away for a few weeks now. Have you made your decision yet?”

His decision. Harry didn’t even want to think about it. How was he supposed to make the right choice when his father was pressuring him into things?

He wasn’t ready for it, if he was being honest. He was young. He wasn’t even twenty yet and he was being forced into making the biggest decision of his life! How was that even fair? All he wanted to do was live free and not have to deal with any of it.

But he knew he couldn’t hide forever. Eventually the time would come for him to step up and figure out if he could really run an entire company by himself. Was that even possible? How could something so important fall into the hands of, basically, a kid?

“Dad…I told you that I need some time to think. I can’t just decide on the spot like this. I’m not sure yet–”

“You selfish boy,” Harry exhaled, knowing exactly where this was going. “I can’t believe I raised such an ungrateful son! All I ever wanted for you was to follow in my footsteps and show the world how responsible and great you can be by running this company! And how do you repay me? By refusing!”

“Dad, I never said I wasn’t going to do it! I just said that I needed some time–”

“You need time? Harry, I’ve given you plenty of time! And time after time you have been nothing but a disappointment to me!”

Harry slid his back down the wall and sat on the floor with his knees pulled to his chest. He ran his free hand through his hair, completely stressed out. It wasn’t the first time his father outwardly treated him like he was the worst thing that ever walked the earth. It probably wouldn’t be the last either.

And yet it still hurt more than anything.

Why was everything he did wrong in his father’s eyes? Why couldn’t he please him? He knew the longer he took on his decision, the more he wouldn’t hear the end of it. So maybe it was time to figure it out. Maybe it was time to actually grow up and do what he knew he would end up doing.

Harry opened his mouth, ready to agree to come home and do the responsible thing, but nothing came out. No matter how hard he tried, the words just wouldn’t form right. He knew that this wasn’t what he wanted. At least not yet. He couldn’t run the company by himself. He couldn’t be in charge of something that huge without thinking properly about it. This wasn’t something that could be decided on spur of the moment.

He needed more time.

“I’m not ready yet, dad. I don’t know what you want me to say.”

“What do I want you to say? I want you to tell me that when the time comes you’ll be here to make sure that the company my father started from the ground up won’t fall apart!”

“Dad, please just understand!” Harry’s voice cracked as he pleaded for his father to stop hounding him. He didn’t need this right now. He didn’t this at all. Why couldn’t he just accept that he wasn’t ready yet?

“No, Harry. This is it. I’m giving you until the end of summer to make your decision. If you can’t, then you might as well not come back.”

“Dad…” Harry was actually shocked that his father would even say something like that. If he didn’t decide to take over the company than he wasn’t welcomed home? What was he supposed to do then?

“It’s my final offer, Harry. Come the beginning of August you need to have your priorities straightened out.”

The other line went dead and that was it. Harry pulled the phone away from his ear and stared at it for the longest time. Had that just happened? Did his father really just say it was take over the company or he was basically out of the family?

Harry squeezed the phone between his hand and clenched his teeth. He was fighting back tears as he chucked the phone straight across from him and watched it slam against the wall and make a cracking noise before it fell to the floor.

This was ridiculous. How could he say that to him? How could he practically force him into doing this? He wasn’t ready! This is shit. Absolute shit! Harry took a few deep breaths as he tried to calm himself down.

Why was this happening to him? Why couldn’t he have been born into some normal family with maybe a father who worked in an office, filing paperwork? He would give anything to be normal at that moment. He didn’t want this. He didn’t want to be Harry Styles, the son of one of the most powerful men in the UK. He wanted to be Harry Styles, the normal guy who liked to have fun and meet beautiful women.

Why did everything have to get complicated? He knew one thing was for sure…he was definitely going to need that drink now.

Harry was slumped over the hotel bar, cradling his glass in his hands. It had been such a long time since he was drinking so heavily, but he knew he needed it. After the conversation he had with his dad, there was nothing that was going to stop him from drinking until he couldn’t remember.

He lifted his head slowly and only a little as his eyes scanned the room for anything interesting. There had to be someone here to get his mind off of things. He just had to seek her out.

And eventually found her. The beautiful brunette haired girl sitting at the end of the bar, checking her phone every few minutes. He bit his lip as he looked her up and down, knowing that she would definitely do.

He stumbled his way down to the end of the bar and took the empty seat next to her, flicking 2 fingers to the bartender before turning his attention to the girl. “Well, hello.”

The girl glanced over her shoulder at him and her eyes lit up when she noticed how attractive he actually was. She sat up straight and turned her body a bit, smiling. “I don’t think I’ve seen you here before.”

“Maybe you just didn’t know who to look for,” he raised one of his eyebrows and smirked. “What are you doing in a place like this all alone?”

“Well, I was supposed to be meeting a friend, but apparently he’s not coming,” the girl grumbled before she looked back to Harry with a bit more of a suggestive look. “I think I found better company, though.”

“I’ll drink to that,” Harry grabbed his drink and lifted it as the girl followed almost in unison. “Here’s too,” he grinned and narrowed his eyes at her, “new friends.”

“Here, here.”

Harry pulled the girl, whose name he couldn’t remember to save his life, against him as they crashed against the hallway wall, making a loud ‘thud’ noise. He trailed his lips up the girl’s neck, leaving a few kisses on the way up to her ear, before nibbling on her earlobe slightly.

The girl giggled uncontrollably as ran her hands through his curls, linking her fingers around a few of them and tugging slightly.

“You sure we can use your room?” Harry whispered slowly in her ear, causing the girl to fall apart just by his voice.

“Of course! My sister isn’t even back!” She grabbed Harry’s hand and pulled him towards the room.

Harry couldn’t help but get the sense that he had been around here before, but he was way too drunk to think more about or even care. All he knew was that he needed a good shag to help him slowly forget about everything that had happened.

The girl stumbled a few times with finding which way the card had to slide, but eventually figured it out and pushed the door open to the empty hotel room. Harry came up behind her quickly and slid his hands over her hips and pulled her close.

“I’m gonna show you a great time tonight. You’ll forget whoever the hell stood you up.” He knew that he was trying to convince himself of that too.

He needed to let everything go. He wasn’t going to think any more about Kennedy or his dad or this stupid decision he was to make. The only thing that mattered at that moment was the beautiful girl standing in front of him.

At least…she was the only thing that mattered tonight. Morning would eventually come and that thought would definitely fade away.

Sorry, Kennedy…but just for tonight you are no longer on my mind.
