Second Chances

Chapter 26

I woke up the next morning with my back pressed against Ash, my head on his left arm and his right over my waist. I waited for myself to freak out, but sighed in relief when I stayed perfectly calm. The only time I ever showed Jashire how scared I was, was when I woke up after he raped me and he was lying next to me.

I shifted a bit and tensed slightly when Ash pulled me closer in his sleep. I went to pull the blanket up more when I saw Havic, my favorite stuffed wolf against the wall. Elk or Kaim must have brought it up. I pulled the wolf to my chest and tried to go back asleep, without moving from how I woke up. I must have fallen asleep not long after because I woke up to hushed voices, laughing and arguing.

“I think she’s completely out. Hell Ash is fucking still out cold, I blasted ‘Bad Girlfriend’ by Theory of a Dead Man in their ears and they’re still fucking out.” It sounded like Kaim. That must have been what woke me up, though I'm surprised that Ash is still asleep.

“Will you boys just let them sleep? She’s been through hell and he was up most of the night with her trying to keep her calm.”

“Aww come on Sammi, we’re just trying to have a little fun…” And of course Elk would be whining about not being able to wake me up the way he wanted.

“We were all up most of the night, but I’m surprised how quickly she calmed down for him. I’ve been the one to try to calm her down after nightmares and it’s never been that easy.”

“I think those two have a connection. I know she liked CC, but honestly I think Ash is better for her.” Jinxx would rather me date a manwhore than someone who wanted a stable relationship? That doesn’t make any sense.

“If only we could get him to stop sleeping around then I’d be happy.”

“Elk you’re fine. You’re not her mother, you don’t need to baby her.”

“Kaim, who the fuck is the actual mother of the band? Me, I’ll fucking baby her if I fucking want to.”

“I never would have thought that you and Jinxx had the same roles in your bands.” I was getting sick of then talking about me so I stretched but made no attempt to get up.

“And she’s awake. We’re going to go get breakfast, do you want us to bring anything back?”

“Sure…I don’t really care.” As soon as they left I sighed and smirked.

“They really are annoying sometimes aren’t they?” I laughed as Ash spoke against my neck.

“Yeah they are, but well we need them.” I moved so I was laying on my back and stretched again. “I’m assuming you woke up when they blasted music in our ears?”

“Who wouldn’t have? They should be thankful that we didn’t get up and beat them to death for waking us up.”

“That requires far more energy than either of us have right now.” He smiled a bit at that then grew serious again.

“Are you really okay?”

“Yeah, for right now I’m better than I was last night. I’m sorry that you had to deal with me through that…”

“It’s not your fault. I think Elk and Kaim got pissed that I wouldn’t let them near you actually.”

“Possessive much?”

“Only a little, but you’re worth it.” He completely surprised me when he leaned down and kissed me lightly. I completely froze then after about a full minute I kissed back hesitantly. He made no move to pin me down, which I was extremely grateful for, but he made absolutely no attempt to let me move so I was on top either. He pulled back from the kiss and looked far too pleased with himself. “You should go get dressed.”

“In case you forgot, I don’t have any clothes up here.” Instead of answering, he got up and went over to his bag that he brought. I just stared after him lustfully, only just realizing that he wasn’t wearing a shirt. I only stopped staring when he threw clothes at my, hitting me in the face.

“Go get dressed.” I stuck my tongue out at him before getting off the bed and heading to the bathroom. I nearly laughed when I saw that the shirt and pants were from his fashion line, either he guessed I was obsessed or Jinxx or Elk told him. I pulled the clothes on and went back out to the main room, to find Ash fully dressed as well.

“Well, now we wait for the others to get back with food.” He laid back on the bed as he spoke and motioned for me to join him, which I did without hesitation.
