Second Chances

Chapter 4

I couldn’t believe I caved and agreed to go on tour with Black Veil Brides. I sighed and set my bag on the bunk I chose. It took less than ten minutes for the five of us to pack two bags each and to get onto the party bus that we were borrowing. The only other stop we made was to Clair’s so she could pack and grab extra memory cards, her laptop and charger. I put my heavy three pound wolf blanket on my bunk and sighed. I decorated the walls with wolf pictures and one of me and Jinxx when we were kids. I doubted that he even recognized me, even though I know I pretty much told him when I talked about the wolf plushie that he gave me.

I went up to the front lounge and sat on the couch next to Elk, and leaned against him, my head on his shoulder. “I’m mentally tired.”

“Insomnia, or stress?” Elk was the only one who knew of my sleep disorder. I would call him at random times, but he never failed to answer. I could have probably called any of the guys since they wouldn’t care, but Elk and I had a deeper relationship. He was more than a brother, like Jashire, but still different. I trusted Jazz with my deepest secrets, but Elk was always so understanding about everything that I couldn’t help but tell him about my psychological problems. He was the only one who even understood my strange sleep issues.

“I’m so stressed. I’ve always wanted to tour with this band, but I have so much personal shit that I can’t even enjoy it.”

“Should we get one of the band members over here to talk with you? Maybe you can relax a bit if you got to know one of them.”

“No…there’s something that I have to talk to you guys, my pack, about. Jazz already knows, but it’s time you guys knew too.” Elk nodded and got up.

“I’ll go get them now. The guys and Clair, besides it’s time we learned a bit about her since she’s officially part of this family.” I smiled at him, knowing that he genuinely meant everything he said. I looked around at the near empty bus. With how we were, we were going to have to go shopping for food at the first stop. We all ate far more than we should, but we were all energetic. I had no idea how the five of us would be able to cope with being cooped up in a bus.

When the guys and Clair were in the front lounge I sighed and looked at everyone. “So, aside from Clair, you guys obviously know my real name’s not Havic. It’s just a stage name. My real name is Chase, and I’m related to one of the members of Black Veil Brides.”

Kaim and Kaos stared at me in shock, while Elk, and Clair were a bit more understanding. “That’s why you were always so tense whenever we mentioned that band or even your past. It makes so much more sense now.”

“So Havic…what do we call you? We’ve only ever known you as Havic, not Chase.” Kaim looked at me sympathetically.

“You can call me Havic still, I’m not changing my name back to Chase…not right now at least. I have too much to work through before I can accept that that’s who I am again.”

“I’m glad you told us. Just remember we’re a pack, a family. We’re always here for you, no matter what.” I smiled, Kaos despite him being the most childish of us, was very understanding and just wanted everyone happy.

“I know, you’re all my brothers and sister. There are things that I don’t want to talk about though, just like there are things that I’m sure you guys don’t want to bring up. So I don’t know about you guys, but I’m pretty fucking excited for this tour!” We all broke out laughing, and it took us about ten minutes to calm down. “So Clair, tell us a bit about yourself. We’re a pack, and there’s not many secrets kept from each other.”

“Well as you know I’m a photographer and I love it. I live with a friend and I do whatever I can to make money. I was working for a local magazine but I’ve always wanted to do photography for bands.”

“I guess you found your dream job then. Lady Luck must have been watching over you the day you walked into our tattoo shop.” Jazz smirked at Clair, and I knew instantly that he was falling for her. I smiled a bit.

“Jazz is right, if you hadn’t walked in when you did you never would have had this chance. How about we get more pics done so we have more to put up later?”

“I don’t mind, how do you want to do it? With us in full makeup or without?”

“Hmm, I think we should do some of each. But for now, we’re already looking like we were dragged through shit, we haven’t had time to wash the makeup off. So let’s just have some taken now.” I looked over at Elk and smiled, he and I thought a lot alike. I think Clair went a bit overboard with the pictures, because she filled up one memory card completely. By the time Clair was done, the buses had stopped to fill up, and Jazz managed to leave with Kaos to go get some food for the remainder of the drive to the next venue.

We all washed off the makeup and Elk, Kaim and I were lounging on the couch while Clair went to put the pictures onto her laptop. Kaim and I had out heads on Elks lap when there was a knock on the door, Elk got up and opened the door. Two members of Black Veil walked on after Elk. “Hey, we figured we’d get to know you.” I looked at Jake and CC in surprise before sitting up.

“Hey guys, make yourselves comfortable I guess.” Kaim laughed and went to greet the two. CC sat on one side of me while Jake sat on the other side of me.

“You look almost too much like Jinxx, it’s kinda creepy.” I got up and went to the table that was across from the couch.

“Yeah, I’ve been told that a lot.” I took my contacts out and rubbed my eyes. I looked up at them and sighed.

“It really is creepy; you even act like him a bit.” I blushed lightly at Jakes’ comment. CC seemed to make some kind of connection between my reaction and what Jake said.

“Dude, you’re his sister Chase aren’t you?”
