"Charlotte, your eyes are white. What the hell happened?"

"I told you, sometimes they take things from me so I'll listen to them."

"That doesn't make sense. Your ability isn't..."

"It seems it is that way, Scott."

"Jesus Christ."

As he moved me to the bed, I closed my eyes. He'd already seen the worst of me, the new side that I'd tried to hide for months. This was different. Usually they took something minor, unnoticeable, but not this time.

But who they were was still a mystery. Because when I got visions other times, those people were either long dead or going to be soon, and they didn't know I was connecting with them.

Discovering this new ability was both thrilling and frightening.

I didn't know what else was in store for me.
