You Are Not Alone

This is War

Michael's POV

When Janet and Lily came out to the backyard, Michael had to muster up as all of his self-control not to ravage her. She looked irresistable in that blue string bikini. Her skin was glowing with a slight tan and her toned legs were on full display. He couldn't help but think how amazing her breasts looked, partially exposed by the skimpy bikini top she wore. When she turned away from him, his eyes were immediately glued to her firm ass. He was pretty sure he was going to die if he didn't touch her.

Is she trying to kill me?! Michael thought, watching Lily bend over to help fill the balloons with water.

Michael quickly snapped out of his thoughts when he caught sight of Jermaine. There his brother was, openly staring at his girlfriend's ass! He'd already had enough of Jermaine's less-than-subtle flirting. Not to mention, he could tell that it had been making Lily rather uncomfortable. Deciding to put a stop to Jermaine's bullshit, he stalked over to him.

"What the hell do you think you're doing, Jermaine?" Michael whispered, glaring at his older brother.

"What you talkin' about, Mike?" Jermaine asked, feigning confusion. Michael rolled his eyes.

"You know damn well what I'm talkin' about! Stop checkin' out my girl and stop flirtin' with her", Michael said warningly.

"Do you own her?" Jermaine asked, raising a challenging eyebrow. Michael took a deep breath, willing himself not to punch his brother in his damn face.

"She's a human being, not property", Michael replied. "But she's MY girlfriend and I know you're making her uncomfortable."

"God, Mike! Why you gettin' all worked up over a piece of ass anyway?" Jermaine asked with a smirk. Michael's eyes widened.

"Lily isn't a piece of ass, Jermaine. Don't talk about her like that", Michael whisper yelled, getting angrier by the second.

"Whatever, man", Jermaine said, rolling his eyes.

"Just stop it, alright?" Michael said, pointing a warning finger at him.

"Fine, whatever", Jermaine said, holding his hands up in surrender. Michael walked away, moving to stand next to Lily.

Wrapping his arms around her from behind, Michael laughed when Lily shrieked in surprise. She relaxed instantly, realizing who he was. After stealing a kiss, he began to help her fill the rest of the balloons with water. Ten minutes later, the ammo was ready and everyone gathered around. White t-shirts were given to everyone, so they would be able to tell which team wins.

"Alright, what are the teams?" Janet asked as they all stood in a circle.

"There has to be three guys and two girls on each team. That way it's even", Marlon answered. "How 'bout...me, Michael, Jermaine, Rebbie and Toya on one team. That leaves Jackie, Randy, Tito, Janet and Lily."

They all nodded in agreement, although Janet complained about not having Michael on her team. Everyone knew his team always won. Michael was disappointed that he wasn't only Lily's team, but then again, it would be fun to get her wet. Michael smirked at the dirty thoughts that brought to his mind.

"Y'all know the rules. No timeouts, the driest team wins and no face shots. Everything else is fair game", Marlon said and everyone nodded.

Lily's POV

Lily had wanted to be on Michael's team, but at least she would enjoy pelting him with the balloons. She smirked as she caught his eye and he pointed his fingers at his eyes then back at her, as if to say "I got my eye on you". Not dropping the smirk from her face, she ran a thumb across her neck then pointed at him. Michael raised his eyebrow, then shook his head laughing.

"Alright, everybody. Line up!" Marlon shouted. With that, each team lined up facing each other. They were about ten feet apart and all of the water balloons were in a plastic tub on the ground in between them.

"Hey, Mother! Can you start us off?" Janet yelled when Katherine came outside, sitting in a chair.

"Ready. Set. GO!" Katherine shouted, laughing when everyone scrambled for as many balloons as they could carry.

A good portion of the balloons were wasted, as everyone tried to carry more than they could handle. One balloons fell out of Lily's arms, which were piled with a multitude of the squishy ammunition. She shrieked when it hit the ground, busting open to soak her feet.

In the chaos that ensued at the start of the game, Lily lost sight of Michael. She was a few feet away from Janet, who was currently pelting a balloon at La Toya's stomach. That girl was soaked already! Lily assumed this wasn't exactly her thing.

Suddenly, Lily felt something cold hit her backside. She shrieked as the water balloon burst open, soaking her bikini bottoms. Hearing a familiar giggle, she turned around to face Michael.

"Oh, laugh it up, Applehead! This is war", Lily threatened. Michael laughed even harder.
However, he was smart enough to take off running at record speed.

Lily vaguely wondered how the hell he managed to run that fast and not drop any of his ammo. She ran after him and there went another one, the balloon busting open on her leg as she moved. Michael was still giggling, gaining distance between them.

In her pursuit of Michael, Lily took the opportunity to use some of her weapons. Passing by Rebbie, she flung a balloon at her, hitting her chest. Next she passed by La Toya. The poor girl was completely soaked through, but Lily showed no mercy. Finally, she caught up with Michael.

"You know you're gonna pay for that, right?" Lily smirked, panting from all the running.

"Oh, am I?" Michael taunted, matching her smirk. Lily nodded, but didn't get the chance to say anything, because he surprised her with a balloon to the chest.

"AHHH! MICHAEL!" Lily shouted in shock. "First my ass and now my chest? Really?"

"Mmhmm", was Michael's only reply. He bit his lip as he eyed her chest, which was, once again, on display through her wet t-shirt. Lily felt her cheeks heat up as he eyed her.

"Michael, behave", Lily scolded in a whisper. Michael just snickered.

"Oh, babygirl. Just wait until we get home", Michael winked. With that, he ran off to find his next victim.

Lily stood there, speechless. What Michael said had sent a shiver down her spine. She felt a sudden wetness and it wasn't from the balloons either. She also had to admit that her heart fluttered when Michael said "home". She knew he didn't mean it in the way she was thinking about it, but it definitely got her imagining the future.

Lily's thoughts were interrupted when she heard Janet shriek. Turning around, she couldn't help but laugh at what she saw. Michael and Jermaine had her trapped between them. They were taking turns pelting her with balloons. Deciding to help the poor girl out, Lily ran towards them. She stumbled to a halt a few feet away.

"Well, well, well. Look here, Mike. I think your girl's gonna try and save our little sister here", Jermaine taunted when he saw her. Michael, whose back was to her, turned around.

"She knows she'll never get me", Michael said, throwing her a cocky grin. Lily scoffed.

"Oh, you are really askin' for it, aren't you", she replied, shaking her head.

"Show me what you got, girl", Michael continued, holding his arms out to his sides. She glared at him playfully, making him laugh.

It was then that Lily noticed the three of them were the only one's left with balloons. Without a moment's hesitation, Lily ducked out of her vulnerable position. Now across from the two men, she pelted a balloon at her boyfriend, hitting his left shoulder. Michael instantly stopped laughing. It was the first time he'd been hit in the whole game.

"You're gonna regret that, Miss Lily", Michael threatened. Lily just smiled and waved at him.

Michael shook his head at her audacity. Before she knew it, Lily took two blows to the stomach, one from each of the guys. Michael and Jermaine high fived each other. They easily dodged the balloons she hurled at them. Lily froze when she realized she had just wasted her last two. Michael, who had a sinister smile on his face, advanced on her. With wide eyes, she backed away slowly. Unfortunately, she was too focused on Michael to realize that Jermaine had come to stand behind her.

"Uh oh, looks like she's all out", Jermaine smirked down at her. Lily's eyes darted around, but she knew she wouldn't be able to get past him. She did notice, with some relief, that his hands were now empty.

"Yes, yes it does", a familiar voice whispered next to her ear. The next thing she knew, Lily felt something being placed on the top of her head. With a pop, Michael smashed his last balloon on her head. He pointed and laughed as she turned around. Her hair was soaked and sticking to her face and neck. She looked like a drowned rat.

"I'm gonna kill you, Michael!" Lily yelled. He took off running, her on his heels.

Needless to say, Michael's team won. It had been pretty brutal, actually. When the game was over, everyone went off to change back into their dry clothes. Michael and Lily stayed for another couple of hours. The family was just enjoying each other's company. They played some cards, ate dessert and got caught up with each other's lives. Lily vaguely wondered where Joseph was during all of this.

As if on cue, Joseph walked into the family room. A stern expression on his face, his eyes settled on Michael. Lily could tell that Michael looked nervous and she wished she could comfort him.

"Michael, come with me. I wanna talk to you, boy", Joseph said. Without waiting for a reply, he turned and walked back out of the room. Michael's face went pale and he rubbed his palms against his legs anxiously. Standing from the couch, he got up to follow his father.

Why do I get the feeling this isn't going to end well? Lily thought, feeling very uneasy.
