My Apocalypse

Fight

"Please leave a message after the beep," an automated voice said on the other line of my cell phone followed by a high pitched 'beep'.

Another unanswered call. I checked my call history; I tried 15 times in less than an our to talk to Craig. But he just ignored me. Sometimes he'd let it ring until it went to voice mail by itself, other times it rung once or twice before going to voice mail.

I felt so horrible. I betrayed him––my only brother. I was the worst sister in the history of the entire universe. Craig didn't deserve this. He gave up everything for me and never asked for anything in return. I was beyond stupid.

"Still no answer?" Ronnie asked.

I just shook my head, throwing my phone onto the booths table. I put my head in my palms, frustrated. Ronnie placed a calming hand on my shoulder, squeezing it softly. I smiled weakly at him. I knew he was worried about me. I had upset Ronnie too. He was always checking on me, as well as his band mates. I can't do anything right, I thought.

"Maybe you should try star six-seven. The number will be blocked, he won't know who it is." Ronnie suggested.

I raised my head, smiling, "Ronnie! You're a genius!"

I picked up my phone dialing star six-seven before his number. I hit send eagerly.

Ring, One.

Ring, Two.

Ring, Three.

"Hello?" He answered.

"Craig?" My voice cracked.

Click.

I looked down at my phone. "He hung up on me," tears escaped my eyes. I quickly wiped them away, not wanting everyone to see me cry. I thew my phone angrily onto the table, thanking that I had spent eighty dollars on an otter box case so the phone wouldn't shatter.

Ronnie hugged me, "I'll be right back," Ronnie said as he let me go.

"Where are you going?" I sniffled as he grabbed his coat.

"I gotta do something, I'll be right back," He hugged me once more before leaving with a "I promise."

"What was that about?" Jacky, Falling In Reverse's guitarist, asked.

"I honestly don't know,"

I picked up my phone and started playing a game, waiting patiently for Ronnie to return. I wonder where he went, I thought. I flicked between home screens lazily before realizing, Oh shit! He went to Craig!

I jumped up out of my seat, putting my shoes on. "Jacky!" I yelled, in a panic. I grabbed the first hoodie I saw on the couch (which I later realized was Ronnie's), shoving my phone into one of the pockets praying it wouldn't fall out.

"What's going on?" Jacky grabbed his shoes as well.

"He fucking went to Craig," I explained shortly before running out the door with Jacky. I ran through the parking lot desperately trying to find Craig's bus. I ran down every isle scanning the buses for the name.

"Guys! Stop!!" I heard Max yell in the distance.

I took off leaving Jacky in the dust towards his voice, "Max? Where are you?"

"Over here!" Max yelled back.

I finally found them in the middle of a fist fight. I hurled myself in between them, holding my hands up. "Knock it off!" They both froze, their fists going down to their sides. "Ronnie, do you really want to go back to jail?" I scolded before turning to Craig, "and you, do you really want to start your prison career?"

"What do you care?" Craig laughed dryly. "Now move before I hurt you too."

I held my ground, "You wouldn't fucking dare."

"Can you please just fucking listen to me for once?"

Jacky finally caught up, he pulled Ronnie by the arm away from Craig. Perfect timing Jacky.

"Craig, I'm sorry, okay?"

"No! Not okay! You went against everything I fucking told you!"

"So you're just going to throw me away?" I asked, softly.

"Isn't that what you're supposed to do with trash?" Craig said.

I didn't even think, all I saw was red. I raised my hand and slapped Craig across the face... hard. Craig went sideways, clutching his cheek. Everyone gasped and froze. "I may be trash, but you're a fucking disgrace. Mom and dad would probably roll in their fucking grave if they knew of the person that you have became!"

I gave Max a hug, "I'll talk to you later, Max,"

Max, still in shock, just nodded.

Ronnie slung his arm over my shoulders as we walked back to our bus, leaving the real piece of trash behind.
