Who Are They?

Their first arrival was sudden. I've heard about them before, but wasn't young or insane enough to believe it. There's a few nut cases who have believed in them for years, but there's never been any actual proof that they existed. During their first visit we all had to go into hiding. I was scared and didn't know what to do. Would we have enough food? How long would they be here? Would they try to stay? So many questions, but I didn't have any answers. No one did at the time. I peeked out at them a few times. They looked... strange. They had round heads with small, beady eyes. They were shorter than I had expected. Their appearances not only shocked me, but scared me. They were ugly, vile looking creatures. After what felt like years they finally left and my town had cautiously came out of hiding. "Who do they think they are!" I heard someone shout. "Landing on our planet?!" A few were outraged, but most were scared. "Those filthy..." And then someone finally said it. The word we had all been avoiding since they arrived. "...humans."
