Anyone Can Be a Hero

"I can't believe that he's really doing this," I said to Selina, I was referring to Bane taking down Gotham's Wall Street, we were both sitting on the couch watching what the news was broadcasting on the couch

"I don't know what he's after, but whatever it is- He's getting it," Selina said as she walked to her bedroom and then appearing a few minutes later in her thief outfit.

"Where are you going?"

"To get some money for food."

I nodded my head and then watched her leave. As soon as she was gone I got bored and decided to see what was going on in down town Gotham.

When I got there, I sat on the roof of the building in front of Wall Street and got a front row seat of the police doing their job. I heard someone yelling and then looked down to see a single police officer telling someone in the construction truck to get out of there, but then the road blocks popped up and there was no where he could go. I sighed and then watched as suddenly three motorcycles drove out of the building with innocent people riding on the front of the bikes to cover Bane’s men from being shot at. I jumped up and ran along all of the roof tops to follow them.

"Bane, what are you up to?" I asked myself as I jumped down to a lower roof top and then had to jump to get to a higher roof top.

The chase went on for a few minutes, until they got to the tunnels and then I stopped following them. I'm not a big fan of tunnels, I didn’t know why, they just freaked me out, I decided that I was going around it. When I got to the other side, Bane’s men were winning, there was no chance that the police were going to catch up to these men, I was about to call it a night and go and find Selina when something caught my eye. An object flashed by and I followed it, my curiosity getting the best of me

"No, it couldn't be," I muttered as I saw the sight in front of me, ‘…It’s him! It’s really him!...’ I thought as the Batman appeared and chased after Bane’s men. When he finally caught up to them and started to attack them, the police showed up and surrounded Batman, allowing Bane’s men to get away, ‘…Idiots! They’re letting them escape!...’ I thought and then heard the sound of a helicopter coming my way, which was when I decided that it was time to get out of there and find where Selina went.

I followed Selina's scent to some mansion, I found her holding back two guys and she looked like she was struggling. I growled and then jumped through the window and helped her out. I got kicked by some guy and my back hit something hard. I looked up and saw that Bane was standing there, my eyes widened and I jumped back and ran over towards Selina. We ran up to the roof where we fought some more guys, and I was losing control of my beast, I could tell that by the damage I was doing to these guys, Selina could tell too.

I was jumped by three men and was about to go down, when out of nowhere a figure appears and helps us fight Bane's goons, I looked over and saw that it was Batman. I wondered how he got away from the police but didn’t ask anything, didn’t open my mouth. When everyone disappeared, Batman told us to jump into his vehicle and he would give us a ride.

When Batman parked the, whatever it was, we got out and I walked away as Selina and Batman talked a little, I wanted to listen in but, Selina always told me that was rude, so I didn't. When she was finished, she walked towards me, and we headed back to our home.

"Well that was an eventful night," I said and Selina nodded her head and then walked into her room. I sighed and then sat on the couch and fell asleep.

It felt like my eyes weren’t alseep for long, because I was woken up to hearing talking. The voices were trying to be quiet, but it wasn’t working too well. I managed to push myself up off of the couch and headed towards the voices to see that Selina was in the doorway talking to some guy.

"Zoey, this is Mr. Bruce Wayne," she introduced when she noticed me and I nudged my head still too tired to speak.

"Morning!" he said and I gave a little awkward wave and then headed towards my bedroom.

Just as I was getting comfortable, but bedroom door opened and Selina walked in and sat on my bed, "What?" I mumbled as I laid my head on the pillow.

"We have a job tonight."

"What? From Bruce Wayne?"

"No, from Batman."

"What?" I asked and sat up in my bed, that had definitely gotten my attention.

"He wants us to show him where Bane is hiding."

"Are you kidding me, Bane will kill him!"

"Eh, not our problem."

I sighed and looked at her, "What time are we meeting him?"

"Eight o'clock tonight."

"All right," I said and then decided that I was going to get up and go for a run.

I got dressed in my running clothes and then headed out of the house and headed over towards the park so I could run around the lake a few times. It was a little chilly so I made sure to put a slightly heavier jacket on, even though the cold doesn't usually affect me too much.

I got into a running mode and just kept going, not really paying attention to where I was going, not even sure if I was still on the track. But since I wasn't paying attention, I ended up banging into someone. I landed on top of them and inches away from their face.

"I'm sorry," I said and then hurried up and got off of the person. They stood up and I saw that it was a guy, and he wasn't that bad looking either, "I'm really sorry about that."

"It's fine," he said and then smirked at me.

I smelt blood and then looked at his arm to see that it was bleeding, "Oh, you're bleeding."

"Oh," he looked down at him and then held his sleeve over it, "I'll be fine, thank you," he said and then started to jog off.

It took me a few minutes to regain myself over the smell of blood hitting my nose, but I was going to be fine. I needed to head back home so that I could hear Selina's plan for tonight.

After Selina had come up with a plan she had disappeared for about two hours and then by the time she had come back, it was time to get ready to meet up with the Batman.

"Don't be shy," Selina said as she and I waited patiently in the sewers.

A figure came out of the shadows and I saw that it was Batman. I looked at him and smirked as I was standing behind Selina and she had her chat with him about cleaning her record. He promised to do it, unless she took him to Bane.

"Who's this?" Batman asked looking at me.

"She's with me," Selina said and I smirked.

"Fine," he said and then we started to walk.

Selina really knew the way to Bane, so she stood in front, Batman stood behind her, and since I didn't really trust Batman, I stood behind, and sometimes next to him. We knew we were getting close when Bane's men showed up and tried to attack us.

When we got to where Bane usually is, Batman walked in first and I was going to walk in next but Selina held me back and pressed a button, in which a gate closed in front of us, locking Batman in.

"Sel, what are you doing?" I asked confused.

"The only thing I can do so that Bane won't kill us," she said and I looked at her and then back at Batman.

I leaned against the gate and watched as Batman walked up to Bane and then just started to fight. But sadly, the fight didn't last that long. Batman got some good hits in, but Bane was just too powerful. Bane held up the Batman and ripped his mask off and Selina and I both saw that it was Bruce Wayne.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Why would he-?" Selina asked but then stopped and looked away.

"You didn't know?"

"No," she said and then I looked and watched as Bane held Bruce over his head and brought Bruce's back down over his knee.

I looked away back you heard his bones crack and pop, and it made you feel sick.

"Let's go!" Selina said and I nodded my head and we headed out of the sewers and back home.

"Selina, why would you do that? Why would you kill the only person that could give this city hope?"

"I didn't!"

"You basically sent him in there to his death!" I yelled and then looked out the window of the living room and sighed.

"It was the only thing to keep us alive and give us enough time to get out of here," she said and I nodded my head.

"So we're leaving?"

"Yes."
