This stories follows six different accounts of how people act after an outbreak of a worldwide infection, mainly set in the United States. It follows Kimberly, a girl looking for a way to survive while believing she has no one, so she flees from Alaska to Washington with fellow survivors; Motts, a survivor in Maine who has banded together many survivors and is trying to move on; Frankie, a Marine that's fighting with what he thinks is right versus what he has to do; Jimmy, a boy that lost everything and is now injured and hiding away in a city; Dr. Limmer, A CDC specialist who is working to the point of exhaustion for a cure; Nick, a man searching for his family while hiding "Normals" away from the military; Sam, a young doctor who is running a camp of "Normals" to test on.
