Memories From a Dead Girl

"Don't you feel her?"

I was sitting on Chloe's other side when she asked the question. Austin leaned back on the couch and shook his head.

"Sorry, but no. Maybe I wasn't as connected to her as you were."

Chloe sighed. "I just wish I knew what really happened. I wish we could see into her memories, but that's not possible. Otherwise we'd know the last thing — or person — she saw."

"Please don't wish that," I told them. "You wouldn't want to relive my last moments, Chloe."

Austin was quiet for a while, then he said, "I was the last person she saw."
