Rubber Ball

Prologue

Christine used to be an average girl with an average life. Nothing excited happened to her because she used to be a goody-two-shoes most of the time. She didn’t go to look for trouble and trouble didn’t come looking for her.

But all of that changed when her mother remarried. Her mother lost her husband when she was pregnant with Christine. Christine’s father went to fight the Germans in France and died while doing it. It broke her mother when she found out and she didn’t remarry for fifteen years, even though the neighbors and her family disapproved. It was unbecoming of a widow who had a child to live on her own and they weren’t afraid to show my mother this.

But her mother stood by her decision, that was until she met Mr. Styles. She hadn’t been looking for a potential husband but she found him anyway. He was a cotton salesman and it was love at first sight.

She didn’t tell Christine about her new boyfriend right away because she was sixteen at the time and she didn’t know how her daughter would react to the news. But then he had asked her to move in with him so she had to tell her.

Three years ago the Styles family moved in with them and they became one family. Mr. Styles already had a daughter and a son. They had looked so foreign to Christine when she first met them. It was because they were from London, a city that was so different from Liverpool that they seemed a world apart.

At the time, she didn’t know how important they, or rather the son Harry, was going to be for her. Maybe even now she didn’t fully understand the impact he and Zayn have had on her life. They were the once that made her life exciting.

This story begins when Christine still was the person she used to be, before her life became complicated. She was still the girl with average grades, average friends and an average love-life. There was nothing special about her, but all of this changed when she met Zayn. After seeing him in that alley, her life changed forever.
