The Engagement

As we briskly walk, I feel my heart beat faster. With your hand in mine I know I'm safe but, my heart won't stop. I try to make small talk. It was useless to try though. I just seemed to make things more awkward. It wasn't a bad awkward though.
It makes me suspicious as he nervously holds me close. We walk toward our favorite park bench. We stop directly in front of it. He starts to bend on one knee and my heart finally stops. He says those 4 words. Those 4 words that make a impact that can't be changed. He asks "Will you marry me?". I respond automatically with a "Yes, I wouldn't have it any other way.". I hug him tightly as the world feels like it's slightly spinning.
I can't wait to see how I feel when I hear the words "I do." out of his mouth. I feel I might faint but, I hope not. I don't want to miss the moment when I declare his forever, only his.
