4:15 the clock reads.

Eden turns over in her bed to stare at the wall.

Dark and cold. Like the look in her aunt's eyes.

"Let's try this," they said at first. But no one knew how soon this would turn into "be prepared."

"It'll be alright, Mama," she whispered, clutching her to chest. Their roles reversed suddenly in a life alerting moment that had the world spinning uncontrollably.

All the shows on television and they never tell what happens to the families. Only they lives of the sexy British doctors, the gullible interns, and the certifiable patients. Not the families. Never the families.

There's too much drama in watching your loved one fade away slowly by a mysterious killer.

5:42 the clock reads.

Eden uses her pillow to soak up the tears, the snot, and the sadness.
