Just One Yesterday

Until Your Breathing Stops

I spent the rest of the day, standing around the bookstore, helping any customers that needed help. That is, until it was time to close the store altogether. When I came home, the boys where still at the house, and they were all sitting around the living room writing down ideas that came to their heads; with two boxes of pizza and drinks sitting on the table in front of them.

I just left them to their work and went up to our room, changed into pajamas, and laid down in bed. I was immediately asleep, didn't even wake up when Pete finally came to bed. I didn't wake up until this morning.

When I woke up this morning I decided on taking a shower before getting dressed for the day. I didn't have to work, thankfully, so I would hopefully be spending some time getting caught up with everyone. I got dressed in a pair of ripped up jeans, and a sleeveless shirt, along with one of Pete's plaid over shirts; finishing the look with a pair of combat boots, and a bandana in my hair.

When I went downstairs, once again the boys were sitting around in the kitchen, drinking morning coffee and talking amongst themselves. "Not that I don't absolutely love having you guys around again, are you ever going to go home?" I asked, grabbing a glass from the cabinets. I could feel a set of eyes on me as I walked over to the blender and poured the red substance into my glass, before taking a large sip.

"Of course we'll be going home, eventually. For now, we just wanted to catch up, and start planning this new album." Joe shrugged his shoulders, looking away from me. I moved to lean back against the counters, next to Pete, and looked to Patrick who was flipping through the pages that they had written ideas on last night.

"I think we should try and get some more artists featured on this album what do you think?" Patrick smiled, looking up at the rest of us. I listened as the rest of the boys agreed with him, nodding their heads. "But who?" Andy questioned, taking a bite of a pop tart that was sitting in front of him. I listened as names where thrown out into the open, and watched as Patrick wrote some down, "Lyndzee? Any ideas?"

"How about people like Elton John, maybe even Courtney Love or Tommy Lee." I shrugged, "I mean you guys have enough of a fan base that would more than likely get them to agree. Especially with how big this album is going to be. Even if they don't want to be a part of the song itself, then maybe you could get them to be in a video at least." The boys all seemed to stop what they were doing and looked between each other before they all looked at me with smiles on their faces.

"Holy shit. That sounds like it'd be fucking awesome; and I'm pretty sure that none of us would be able to come up with it." Joe laughed out, with wide eyes. "I mean, you could all give them designated parts if they were to agree too. I mean...Tommy Lee could play a devil type character, and Elton John could play God. Then Courtney Love could be the force trying to stop you guys. I don't know." I shrugged again.

My idea had Patrick writing things down, while the other three boys continued chipping in ideas for the album, lyrics, beats, and music videos. I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as the boys formed a small group around Patrick, and continued contributing ideas for the album. I've honestly never seen them more excited than this. I never thought I'd see the day when Fall Out Boy made a comeback...Well here it is.

Upon hearing the house phone ring, I slowly walked away from where I had been standing with the boys to go answer it. "Hello?" I sighed into the receiver, turning to let my eyes scan over the four boys that were standing in the kitchen of my home. They had changed so much the past few year. "LuLu!" A familiar, feminine voice squealed, "Oh my gosh, I miss you, do you want to go out with me tonight? Get a few drinks, I don't want to go alone."

I rolled my eyes at her voice, Jesus fuck it was annoying. "Of course, Lily, I'd love to go. I'll meet you at the bar around eight. Bye!" I hung up as quickly as possible. I rolled my eyes and put the phone back down on the home before walking back into the kitchen. "So you're meeting Lily tonight?" Pete smirked, looking up from their circle. "Sadly." I groaned, "Holy hell her voice is so god damn annoying."

"If you don't like her, then why are you going to hang out with her?" Andy chuckled, now looking up as well. "Well, I don't get out of the house much unless it's for work; and a night out would be fun. Do you guys wanna go? I know you're not really big drinkers, but it'd be fun, right?" I suggested, looking between the boys. They all seemed to look around amongst each other, nodding their heads and talking amongst themselves. "Yeah, sounds like fun." Pete finally nodded.

"Alright, awesome! We have about an hour and a half until we need to meet Lily at the bar....So do whatever you have to, to get ready." Patrick opened his mouth to say something, "And then after that you guys can sit back down and gather more ideas for your album." I instructed, jumping up to sit on the counter.

The boys immediately jumped to do as they were told, while I sat back and watched them all rushing around. I smiled, crossing my arms over my chest and watching these boys acting like girls. It was pretty funny to be honest.

They had changed so much over the past few years. Except for Joe...he seemed pretty much the same. He still didn't talk all that much, and he still had that familiar head of puffy hair on top of his head. Andy had changed. He now has more tattoos than before, and no longer had his puffy hair. It was now cut short, and usually had it slicked back; it looked really good on him. Patrick was pretty much the same as well. I mean, of course there were a few changes about him, but definitely not many.

None of the changes amongst the boys were ones that could ever make me love them any less. These boys are my family. They always have been and of course they always will be. I care about them more than anything else. They're my family, my brothers. That's why my dream last night scared me so badly.

When the boys were finally done doing whatever it was they needed to get done, they made their way back into the kitchen. They all came down the stairs wearing pretty much the same thing. They all had on black skinny jeans, that were pretty tight. Joe had on a plain black shirt. Pete had on a black shirt that looked like it had white specks on it. Patrick had on a plain white shirt and a black cardigan; and Andy had on a black shirt that had a white inverted cross on it.

"We all ready to go?" I smiled, jumping down from my spot on the counter. I could tell that Pete had taken a shower, and it seemed like so did Patrick. I could tell because Pete's hair was still wet, while Patrick smelled like the body wash that was in the guest room bathroom. Pete slung his arm around my shoulders, while his free hand was stuffing his keys and wallet down in his pockets.

When we arrived at the bar, Lily was already sitting there waiting for us, with a drink in her hand. As soon as her eyes landed on me, she jumped up from the bar stool that she was sitting on, and ran over to hug me. I gave her a small pat on the back, and a smile before following her over to bar. "I haven't seen you in so long, how are you?" She smiled before ordering another drink for herself, along with one for me.

Pete and the boys had followed us over to the bar, and sat behind me before ordering their own drinks and making light conversation amongst themselves. "I'm fine, Pete and I have been doing good, especially now that our friends are here with us." I explained, picking up the bottle of beer and taking a sip. "Well why don't you ever call me anymore? It's like you just disappeared after last time we hung out, what the hell happened?"

I stopped listening as Lily began to drone on and on about how I hadn't texted or called her in a few months. "Uhm, Lily, excuse me, feel free to keep talking, but I'm going to go smoke. Patrick, come we me?" I smiled, turning to the boys. He smiled, and excused himself from the boys conversations, and followed me out of the bar.

I leaned up against the wall, and pulled my pack of cancer sticks out of my front pocket. "I bet you're a bit confused as to why I asked you to come out here with me?" I chuckled, pulling a smoke from the pack, and sticking it between my lips. "Yeah, I am. Just a bit." He nodded, looking up at me. "Well, I just wanted to catch up, you know? We haven't gotten the chance to talk that much since you made your appearance at the house. I mean, you're the guy that took me in off the streets, and then you disappeared. I just wanted to check to make sure you were okay, I guess."

We stood there in silence for a moment, Patrick letting my words settle in his mind, as another person made his way out of the bar. I watched over Patrick's shoulder as he walked past us, and stood a few feet away before lighting up his own cigarette. Though I couldn't help but notice that he kept glancing in our direction. I couldn't tell if he was looking at me or at Patrick, but I did notice that he kept running his tongue over his bottom lip.

I felt rather awkward with him standing there watching us, but honestly thought nothing of it. Or at least I didn't until I saw the tip of long, canine teeth bite down on his lip after he had run his tongue over it.

Patrick thought nothing of the strange man that was standing behind him, and continued to talk about how he had been over the past few years. How not much had changes, how he went through a phase where he dyed his hair blonde a lot, and how tour went. He even talking about how weird it was without having the rest of us there with him, that it didn't feel right being on tour without us.

"Pat, I don't mean to interrupt you, but I need you to walk back into the bar, go sit down with Pete and have a few more drinks. Alright?" I saw the man turn to where he was now facing us. It was now completely clear that he had no intentions of looking at me. Oh no, his eyes were glued on Patrick. Better yet, they were glued onto Pat's neck.

"Why? I thought you wanted to talk to me while you were smoking?" He paused, giving the man behind him, time to step closer. "What's going on?" He asked. Before I could get the chance to answer him, the man lunged forward. I pushed Patrick out of the way, and stepped between him and his attacker. "Go. Get. Pete!" I shouted, trying to keep the mans face away from my neck. Apparently he hadn't anticipated there being someone like him out here with a human. He thought that as soon as he lunged, he would have Patrick under him; but he was wrong.

Patrick said nothing, but I knew that he had done as I told him, because I heard the door to the bar open and close.

I pushed the attacker off of me, and sent him flying into the wall behind him. When he looked up at me, his wide eyes shrank down to a glare, and a smirk formed on his lips. "You honestly think you can stop me from getting your little friend? You? A woman." He chuckled, standing up straight. He towered over me, but that didn't change my anger any. "Woman? Is that supposed to be some kind of insult?" I laughed, taking a step closer to him.

I once more heard the door to the bar open, before my name was shouted. It was Pete who shouted, but I heard more than just him come out the door. It was all of them now. "Oh look at that, you've brought me some more snacks." He chuckled, before lunging towards me. He knocked me back a few feet, but was not able to knock me down. I was able to at least try to push him back a few feet, before he appeared directly in front of me, and wrap his fingers around my throat.

"You. Won't. Touch. Them." I growled, trying to catch my breath. I took in as much air as I possibly could before bring my foot up to the mans chest and kicking him as hard as possible. He let out some kind of shocked noise, before releasing me, and going flying backwards into the wall. I, in turn, landed on my back on the ground. Only to have Pete rush forward to take on the attack, while Patrick crouched down by my side to check on me.

"Are you okay LuLu?" He asked quickly, pulling me to where I was sitting up. "Yeah, I'm fine. I landed on my ass, don't worry." I chuckled, as he pulled me to my feet. There were a few grunt and groans heard from Pete and the attacker, before they bumped into Patrick and I; knocking us into the wall behind us. Patrick landed on the wall, with me on top of him, and I immediately noticed that he had cut his hand on something. Shit.

When I looked up, Pete seemed to be having a hard time holding the guy up against the wall while trying to end the entire fight. That's what made me step forward and hold one of the mans arms down. It seemed to make him struggle a bit more, as Pete had his grip on his other arm, before shoving his fangs into the mans neck. I definitely wasn't expecting that. At least not up close.

When Pete whipped his head back, he tore the man's throat out, before spitting it out into the trash. I could feel that blood had splattered onto my face. I could feel it...I almost wanted to scream. Although I didn't. My grip on the mans arm released, and I stepped away, keeping my eyes on Pete. His hand was shaking, and his eyes were still completely black. "Pete. Calm down. It's over now, take a deep breath." I told him, placing my hands on his chest.

Though it was obvious that the words didn't get through to him. That much was obvious when he stepped forward with his eyes glued onto Patrick's bleeding hand. Andy and Joe noticed it to, because they were immediately standing in front of Patrick, trying to talk Pete's anger away from him; but that couldn't stop him either.

In the blink of an eye Pete had knocked Andy and Joe out of the way, grabbed Patrick by the collar of his shirt, and dug his canine teeth into the side of his neck. "No!" I screamed out looking at the scene in front of me. I'm not even sure what came over me to grab Pete's shoulder and rip him away from Patrick, who seemed to fall limply to the ground. I pushed Pete back into the wall, ending up hitting his head on the brick, before going back to Patrick.

I sat down next to him, and pulled his head into my lap, before allowing a few tears to fall down from my eyes."Pat? Open your eyes, please." I whispered, pushing is hair away from his eyes. "Wake up, Patrick, you have to wake up." I could see his chest rising and falling slowly as he laid there, with his eyes closed.

Pete groaned, stepping away from the wall, rubbing the back of his head. "Lyn? What the hell happened?" He asked, seeing the sight in front of him. "Get away from us, Pete. Just get away. This is your fault. You bit him. He's supposed to be your friend, your brother! But you bit him, how could you." I shouted, glaring at him. "Lyn, I didn't mean to, I was just trying to protect you guys and my mind just slipped aw-" I quickly cut him off.

"I don't care about what you were trying to do! I care about what you did! Do you even realize what's happening here Pete? You've either just killed him or changed him to be like us! Either way you've just ripped away his life from him! The life that he's made himself, after he got away from all this bullshit, you just dragged him right back into it! Do you no understand that?! No, I don't care. Get away from him....get away from me. Just leave."

I brought my gaze back down to Patrick's face, before once more moving the hair away from his forehead. His chest was still rising and falling, but instead of at a normal pace, it began to move slower. Pete stopped to talk to Andy and Joe for a second, before he walked away.

"Patrick, please. You have to wake up. Please. I don't know what'd I'd do without you here. I would've never gotten this far without you, you can't leave me. You promised. Remember, you promised that you'd be here no matter what. Until your breathing stops. Those where your exact words. I never meant to let anything like this happen, I was only trying to protect you. I'm so sorry. I love you Patrick, and I'll be here the whole time....until your breathing stops."

When I opened my eyes, I saw that Andy and Joe were standing next to us. "Lyndzee....he's not breathing." Joe gasped out. "Please tell us that this is just part of the transition, tell me that he's going to be okay." I couldn't stop the other tear that escaped my eye as I looked up at the boys. "It should be...we won't know for a day or two. So we'll just have to take him back to the house and make him comfortable." I whispered.

"Couldn't you have sucked the venom out, like Pete did for us?" Andy of course asked the obvious. "No. I couldn't. I've never done something like that before, and I would've ended up taking more blood than venom. I would never forgive myself if i were the one to take his life away from him."

Holy shit, please don't kill me. I know that after this you more than likely want to...I know this chapter probably sucks, but I've never been that good at writing action and sad scenes. I hope you enjoyed it though. A comment or something would be nice. I love you all. <3
