It was a couple months later in the month of January. My birthday being November 16 Matt and I celebrated and went to go visit his family - they were so nice and I loved them. So I'm currently (now) 22 and Matt going to be turning 23. So me and Matt have been dating a while. Since we met on October 16th.
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing so I ran and and answered the phone.
"Hello?" I said
"Hi Amanda Macke, well the Colorado avalanche have decided to hire you as GM! Congratulations on being the NHL's first woman GM! We will have a special dinner tonight at 8:00 pm at the Pepsi centre, we'll see you soon!"
"OMG really wow!! This is such a honour thank you so much!" I literally SCREAMED! And I ended the call. I was just so happy, but now I had to get Matt. Just as I was about to go get him, he came running through the door (since we lived literally a 30 second walk away from each other).
"Ok I'm here what's wrong!" Matt said sounding out of breath.
"Nothing's wrong don't worry babe!" I giggled
"Well... Maybe ... I JUST GOT THE GM JOB!" I screamed again
"Oh my gosh! NO WAY! That's amazing babe!!! Yay now we will see each other when I go to play!" Matt said
"I'm just so ha-" I said being cut off by him kissing me, I then kissed him back.
"How was that" he said smirking
"Ehhh not bad but I have seen better" I said smirking
"Hmm oh really..." He said
"Yupp!" I said smiling and trying not to giggle
"Hmm then I guess you don't want anymore" he said smirking
"Well... I wouldn't mind" I added
He pinned me up against the wall and madly started making out with me.
"I love you so much" he said kissing my neck
"Me too babe!" I said as he out me down to my feet.
I started walking past him to make some breakfast
"So tonight the avs are hosting a special dinner for me, at 8:00 tonight." I said cracking some eggs into a frying pan.
"Ok sounds good" Matt added
"Mmmm smells good babe" Matt spoke.
"Ya here are your eggs and your muffin" I said with my mouth full of food
"I can butter your muffin if you want" he smirked
"Umm nuh uh ... Maybe after we get married, if we ever get married" I laughed
"On a sunny day on a beach... Some day" he added with his mouth full of food.
"Dream on" I said

"Are you done yet!" I yelled to Amanda who was taking forever in the bathroom
"Babe do you want me to look good?" She said
"You look fine WITHOUT makeup" I added
I personally think that Amanda looks great without her makeup, but no she just always puts it on. Same with her glasses but she never ever wears them.
She opened the door and gave me a light kiss
"Ok I'm done now" she said
"Ok let's go" I said smiling
We walked outside our apartment and made our way to the Pepsi centre, hand in hand.
"So babe what do you want for your birthday!" Amanda said excitingly
"Hmm well I already have you... I don't need anything for my birthday!" I said
"Hmm I'll think about it" Amanda said smirking
"Well you know maybe we could...have a little fun" I winked
"Umm no. Oh how about some movies tonight" Amanda said happily
"Ok fine, but I get to pick the movie" I answered
