When Worlds Collide

"Should we wake her?"

"Shh Jimmy, you talking this loud will do it, hush yourself!" Ellie hissed at the now dark haired boy.

"Why exactly are we doing this again?" Brian questioned, taking in Lois's sleeping form tangled in the bed sheets.

"Because she was dancing till one this morning and I couldn't sleep so now it's payback for her keeping me up."

"And I want it to be a surprise when she sees my new hair!" Jimmy whisper shouted.

"Dude!" Matt and Johnny chorused elbowing him in the sides trying to shut him up again.

"Ouch!" Jimmy cried

"What are you all doing in my room! Jimmy what happened?" All eyes snapped to Lois as she sat up in bed and covered herself with the blankets. Brian couldn't help but stare at the way her shirt rolled up and exposed her hip. Lois caught his eye and quickly covered herself up more.

"They elbowed me and..."

"No, your hair, why is it black?"

Jimmy's face fell considerably "I wanted a change that's all" He mumbled.

"No! Not like that I think it looks awesome but its just a shock to wake up to first thing that's all!" She reassured him, reaching for his hand and giving it a squeeze. He looked up seeing the genuine compliment on her face and jumped onto the bed and hugged her.

"Jimmy no!" Lois cried as he engulfed her in a bear hug.

Someone outside Jimmy and Lois's embrace yelled pile on and the next thing she knew, everyone was on her bed climbing on top of each other trying to get comfy.

"I see you're all busy, I'll come back later then" Alison said leaning in the doorway. All she could see were tangles of hair, an odd arm sticking out here and there while a couple of feet could be seen below. The teenagers all scrambled off one another and sat on the floor and the bed, apart from Brian, who had decided to stay lying with his head in Lois's lap. She smiled seeing the look in Brian's eyes when he looked up at Lois.

"I'm going out now with William we'll be back around 4, Chris is at the office and he'll be back later, you're all welcome to stay for dinner if you want. Oh and Ellie don't break anything."

"Mom!" Ellie yelled turning as red as her hair.

Everyone turned to her to give a knowing look, which only made Ellie go redder.

"You break one window and everyone loses their minds" She muttered as her mother left the room.

"Wait what?" Lois said sitting up a bit more causing Brian to curse under his breath as she accidentally kneed his rib cage.

"We were ticking her one time last summer and she was pinned down so she couldn't escape because you know how she's the next Houdini and everything" Johnny paused to give Ellie a fake glare, which she returned by flipping him off. "Anyway Matt decided it would be a good idea to dunk her in the pool, so she kicked to try to get him to put her down, she missed, shoe came off and smashed a window."

Lois looked at Ellie, trying to hide her smile while the others tried to hold in their own laughs, which only made her go redder.

“Well guys I’d love to say we can chill in here but I need to get dressed so if you could all shift your asses so that I can get dressed that would be greatly appreciated.” One by one the teenagers all left the room. Brian tried to linger behind but Zacky pushed him in front to make sure he was out the room before Lois could start getting dressed.

“Damn it Jimmy not again” Johnny yelled throwing down his controller as the taller boy beat him once again.

“Calm it short shit it’s only a game after all” Matt said from his place beside Ellie. All afternoon the two had been inseparable, to the point where it was getting a bit uncomfortable for the rest of the teenagers.

“Well what do you guys wanna do now? We’ve played all the games and I’m getting sick of Ellie and Matt being all touchy-feely with each other” Zacky said emerging from the bathroom.

“Why don’t you guys show us what you’ve been working on” Ellie chimed in moving away from Matt to get all the instruments. She came back with two beautiful guitars, followed by a pair of drumsticks and a bass. The boys all shrugged and took their respective instruments before heading out Lois’s room and down to William’s room. Lois had no idea what was going on till she heard a drum beat start emanating from her younger cousin’s room. She followed Ellie in and sat down on the bed, and watched as all five guys played their respective instruments. They sounded great together but Lois couldn’t help but stare at Brian. His eyes downcast as he watched his fingers as they floated over the frets. All too soon they had stopped playing but still Lois couldn’t help stare at the lead guitarist as he put the guitar back in tune and handed it over to Ellie to put away.

“So what do you think?” He asked, voice low as he sat down next to her on the bed.

“You play beautifully, I’d love to learn guitar”

“Do you want me to teach you?” He asked, face lighting up with a smile Lois couldn’t help but return.

“I’d love that, maybe I could teach you some piano?” She laughed, thinking she should try and return the favour somehow.
“I already know how to play, maybe you could teach me to dance sometime?”

“Yeah, yeah lets try that!"
