Chapter One
A long time ago, Adelaide was born to King Baird and Queen Annette of Roselyn. Queen Annette was very beautiful and loved by everyone who met her. King Baird relied on his wife for everything and loved her with his whole heart. The citizens of Roselyn were called “The Fairy People” and had to live through many discriminations. Their people were not allowed into the Human world at all because the humans feared that the fairies were contagious. Adelaide’s parents had been wishing for a baby for a long time but they had come to expect that they wouldn’t be blessed with one.
When Adelaide was born the whole country celebrated. Everything was going great for the country and the royal family until Adelaide’s mother grew ill. Everyone was in a panic and didn’t know what to do. When Adelaide was only several weeks old her mother died from the sudden and mysterious illness. The King grieved over the loss of his wife and he began to slip away from his daughter. He soon forgot that she even existed. All that he could think about was the fact that his beloved wife had left him and he was never going to see her again.
