Fallen Embers

A Golfing We Will Go

When Mike woke up the next morning, he glanced over to the sleeping woman next to him. When he saw her nakedness, he thought about last night. A slight frown came over his face as he thought about how he used the blonde to feel better about himself. As he pondered, said woman started to rouse.

Sabrina stretched and turned to look at Mike and the weird look he had upon his face. "A penny for your thoughts, Michael." she said.

"Nothing... . Well... .. I used you last night and I feel bad about it." he said.

"Used me?" she replied with an eyebrow raised as she sat up.

"Yea, I needed to feel better and I used you to do it. That makes me no better than Tre."

"Okay, let's get this straight. First off, you did not use me any more than I used you. We both got what we needed from each other last night, and all the other times as a matter of fact."

She ticked off the counts on her fingers as she continued. "Second, Michael I love you, but I'm not IN love with you. There are no strings between us. I'm still very much in love with Tre and that's why it hurt so bad that last day in LA. It hurt because I told him 'I love you', and he still left." she shrugged before she continued.

"And thirdly, the fucking sex between us is mind blowing Michael so I am SOOO getting something out of this myself." she explained with a smile. She kissed him lightly on the lips as she rolled out of bed to get around for the day of golf.

Mike watched as Sabrina got out of bed and started digging through her bag. When she pulled out a pair of golf gloves, he asked her, "I didn't know that you played golf."

"I don't" was her answer as she bent back down to dig through her bag again. She grabbed a few items and turned to the guest bathroom and walked in bare ass naked as the day she was born. She blew Mike a kiss from the doorway before shutting the door in order to get ready for the day.

Mike laughed as she blew him the kiss and shook his head to himself. She was quite a character, and actually made a perfect match with Tre. He wondered about what she said about loving Tre and what really happened between them that last day in LA. He shrugged his shoulders and got up and went about getting dressed for his round of golf. He glanced up when he heard the door to the bathroom open. His jaw dropped at what the blonde had picked out to wear for the golf course.

She had on a camouflaged skirt on that looked like it barely covered her ass checks. A thermal Green Day tank top graced her upper half, and a pair of slip on green plaid Vans covered her feet. She was the female version of golfing Tre in the flesh. She casually dropped the golf gloves she had in her hands, and bent over to pick them up. When she did bend over she purposely turned around and her skirt lifted to reveal a thong that didn't even bother to cover her ass checks. She grabbed the gloves and straightened back upright, smoothing down her skirt with her hands before turning back around to face the still stunned bassist.

"What?" she asked innocently.

"Nothing Sab, nothing at all. You look 'nice'." Mike said while shaking his head at the woman.

She smiled at the man and started to walk out of the room. Before she left, she stopped to pick a wedgie out of her ass, which caused the man watching her to finally let loose with the laughter that he had been trying to keep back. She turned, "About damn time you laughed. I wore this outfit just to make you laugh. Well not ONLY to make you laugh." she said with a wink before leaving the room. Mike shook his head and went to finish his own morning routine.

After eating many sweet buns and getting the appropriate sugar rush, the foursome finally made it to the golf course. John and Robbie were members of The Bluff Point Golf & Country Club located a few miles from Plattsburgh. They rented 2 carts and Sabrina and Mike each rented a set of clubs. While in the Pro Shop renting the clubs, Mike helped Sabrina pick a set that fit her body height and right handedness. Sabrina thanked him for his help and soon were loaded up and ready to go.

Robbie and John went in one cart and Mike drove the second one with Sabrina riding shot gun. They came upon the first tee and they all piled out. It was decided that John would shoot first, then Mike, followed by Robbie and lastly Sabrina. When it came time for Sabrina, Mike pulled out her 3 wood and handed it her. Sabrina looked at it like it had 3 heads, and looked back at Mike. He grinned and walked her over to the ladies tee. When she went to bend over to place the tee in the ground, Mike quickly stopped her and placed it himself. After gently placing the ball on the tee, he straightened up and stood behind Sabrina. He placed the club in her hands, and reached around from behind her to place his hands on top of hers. "Whoops" she said as she ground her ass against Mike's pelvic region as he stood behind her.

Mike gritted his teeth at what she was not so innocently doing accidentally on purpose. He took a deep breath and refocused on showing her how to correctly swing. A few practice strokes and Mike stepped back so Sabrina could take her swing. With a near prefect motion she pulled back and let loose with a drive that sent the ball sailing cleaning and on target down the fairway toward the hole.

"Was that good?" she asked Mike with an innoncent look on her face.

"Excellent, you did great." he replied. He grabbed her club and turned around to return it to the bag. When his back was turned John, Robbie and Sabrina shared a silent laugh. Mike assumed that Sabrina had never played golf, but he was wrong and was about to find out the hard way.

The foursome played through a few more holes and soon it became apparent that Sabrina knew more about golf then she was letting on. When she was up ready to tee off, her phone started to play 'I'm Too Sexy'. She pulled the phone off her hip and tossed it to Mike along with an "Answer it please."

"Hey, Toby." Mike said as he opened the phone up and clicked on speaker phone.

"Hey Mike, how is Plattsburgh treating you?"

"The visit has been going great up until this moment."

"Huh, what's wrong?"

"Well, John and Robbie took Sabrina and me golfing, and Sabrina is whipping my ass at this moment and she hasn't played before."

"Hey, I never said I haven't played before Michael, you ASSumed I had never played." the woman said as she was checking wind and whatnot before swinging.

"Wait, Sabrina's golfing?" another familiar voice chimed in on the other end of the phone.

"Tre?"

"Yea, Toby is with me and Billie up here in Oakland. But wait, did you say Sabrina was golfing?" the drummer asked.

"Yes Tre, I'm golfing. You sound surprised." she said as she came up to stand next to Mike and the phone.

"Well yea, how come you never told me you golfed?"

"Easy, I can see it clearly. We'd be golfing and I can see you screaming that you need a ball washer and then look right at me." The woman snorted. "That would happen all of once before I showed you what ball washing REALLY was."

Laughter was heard from the phone as her words sunk in to the minds of the people in Oakland. "Fair enough Sabrina, you know me all too well." Tre admitted with a chuckle. She smiled as she heard him laugh. "So you gonna admit where you learned how to golf?" he asked her.

"Actually, one of your golfing buddies taught me. Well actually, Coop; Alice Cooper that is, tried teaching me back in the late 80's, but I wasn't to keen on it then. It wasn't until I was in a movie that I learned how to play."

"A movie?" Billie Joe finally piped up and asked. "What movie?"

"A little movie from 1996 I was in that starred Don Johnson, Kevin Costner and your golfing buddy Tre, Cheech Marin; a movie called Tin Cup."

"Oh my god, Cheech taught you how to golf?" Tre asked with awe in his voice.

"God, all of them taught me how to play. The three of them are actually quite good for being actors." She reminisced with a smile on her face, "There is nothing like having Kevin Costner standing directly behind you; close enough that you can feel what religion he is." the blonde admitted. She looked at Mike and laughed "I know what religion Michael is."

Mike laughed at her words and returned to the conversation at hand. "Hey, why did you all call?"

"No reason," Billie said, "We just wanted to see how you two were doing."

"Oh, we're fine. We will be leaving back for the farm tonight and I'll fly home tomorrow." Mike explained.

"Oh, Adie is going to fly to New York and go with Sabrina down to the city." Billie informed the group.

"Oh? That's cool." Sabrina stated. "Any reason why?"

"Well for one, it's to mix business with pleasure. She needs a vacation and thought that some down time or 'girl's time' would do the trick. She is officially going as an Adeline Records representative."

"Sweet, girl's night out, too cool."

"Okay Sabrina," Toby said, "I just wanted to touch base with you about that. So I'll fly in with Adie and the three of us will take care of business in the City."

"Okay Toby." Sabrina moved back to tee off and soon a metallic thunk was heard and Sabrina's golf ball neatly performed a line drive right down the fairway and landed neatly on the green of the par 3 hole they were on.

"God dammit," Mike yelled. "I am not playing with you anymore Sab."

"Sab?" Tre asked sounding confused.

"Yes, Sab is the name that Sabrina friend John calls he, something about too many syllables and being lazy." he explained.

"Oh, okay." Tre said still sounding confused, "We'll let you go, and we'll see you tomorrow sometime. Bye." And with that Tre hung up.

Sabrina walked over to Mike and removed her phone from his hand. She smiled sweetly as he grumbled under his breath about lying golfers.

After finishing up the 18 holes, and only having just a few men gawk at Sabrina when she bent over to place her tee in the ground; the foursome returned the rented items and left the golf course to return to the apartment. Mike and Sabrina changed clothes out of their golf attire and into normal clothes. Before they left, Sabrina ran over across the street and bought out the sticky buns and came back with 5 boxes of buns.

"How many did you buy?" asked Mike as he ran over to help carry boxes.

"I got a box for Toby, Billie, Tre, you and me." She said as if Mike should have already known that.

"You mean I have to carry 3 boxes with me back to Oakland?"

"Yup, sucks to be you." She laughed. Sabrina quickly pulled out her black sharpie and on one of the boxes wrote
Enjoy Tre!
Try not to eat them all at once for Billie and Mike's sake.
Love,
Sabrina

They loaded up the haul of sticky buns and their bags and after saying tearful goodbyes and everyone exchanging emails, Mike and Sabrina were back on the road heading back to Watkins Glen.

After the 6 hour trip, carefully following the same route they took before, the pair arrived at the farm. They Sabrina brought in 2 boxes of sticky buns, hers and Toby's, and left the others in the SUV. Mike grabbed their bags and followed Sabrina into the house. They went straight to her bedroom and dropped the bags to the floor and undressed and climbed into bed and quickly fell asleep.

The next morning they arose and quickly got dressed. After having a breakfast which consisted of some of the sticky buns, Sabrina called the number to get her jet ready to fly. The jet was ready within the hour and Sabrina drove Mike to the airport. As he was getting ready to board the jet, he brought Sabrina into a hard hug.

"Thanks Sab, I really needed this. Everything you did for me these last couple of days." Mike said to her. "I love you Sab."

She smiled, "I love you too Michael. Remember we always will have each other in the end, no matter what happens between now and then."

He brushed his lips over hers before he pulled away. He turned and climbed the stairs into the jet. Sabrina waved once last time, before climbing back into her SUV and driving off the tarmac and back onto the main road. She thought about what happened with Mike and the tears came to her eyes as she came to grips with the fact that yet another notch was placed on the failed relationship belt. And it was from a man that she wasn't even in a relationship with. She sighed and started the ride to home.

Later that night, her phone beeped with an incoming text message.
Thanks for the sweets, Sweets. Love, Tre
She smiled as she read the text and hoped that maybe this could be the start of her and Tre being okay again.

Sabrina finished out her last week of freedom and before she knew it, she was driving back out to the airport again to join Adie and Toby and head down to New York City. She lugged out her luggage along with the box of sticky buns and locked up the SUV as the jet was taxing up to where she could board. After the jet came to a halt, the door opened and Sabrina walked over and climbed the stairs to join Toby and Adie inside. Within minutes the jet was climbing altitude again and heading down to JFK airport.

When they landed, a limo took them to Sabrina's penthouse which was located right in downtown Manhattan. Adie was still amazed at wealth that Sabrina had. She was such a down to earth person; you never would have known that she owned a multi million dollar penthouse in the heart of New York City. As she took her luggage into one of the 7 bedrooms, she shook her head at everything.

Sabrina was on the phone with John, her old college friend; not soon after they landed, and then she had disappeared into her bedroom as she dialed a number that she had obtained from the man in Plattsburgh. About 10 minutes later, she came back to join Adie and Toby in the living room. "Well, I have a second guitar player." She announced without fan fare.

"What? Why do you need another guitarist?" Toby asked.

"I think some of the songs can be better being a little more 'fuller' sounding. The new player is heading down to the city tomorrow, so we should have time to get her up to speed on the two songs for SNL. Speaking of which, how did you pull off a special episode of SNL after the season ended Toby?"

The manager just smiled, "I have my ways." He laughed. "Actually it was fairly easy to do; the fact of getting you with the video drop was fairly simple, Lorne jumped at the chance. NBC was right behind it also."

Sabrina went to say something else but was interrupted by her phone playing "Governator". She flipped open the phone, "Louie's pizzeria? Is this for delivery or pickup? Hey Michael... . Yes I knew it was you ass. Yes, we all made it to the city okay. Yea, okay thanks. I'll IM you in a few 'cause I'm getting ready to go to bed. Okay, bye." The woman closed the phone only to see Adie and Toby staring at her. "What?" she asked.

"You and Mike have gotten chummy over the last few weeks. Is there something you would like to share?" Toby asked with a grin.

"There is nothing to share." Sabrina answered tersely.

"Bullshit, Sabrina something is going on, both you and Mike have acted differently towards each other since the day you recorded 'Rebirth'." Toby countered.

"Toby, Michael and I are best friends. He was there when I needed someone, and I was there when he needed someone. There is nothing else to say." She retorted, "This line of questioning is so over." She turned and walked out of the room before Toby or Adie could say another word.

"I would wager anything that there is more to her and Mike then she is telling us." Adie said to Toby. The man nodded his head in agreement and glanced over to the bedroom door that Sabrina had disappeared behind.
