Love Hurts

Science Class

Eva sat down in science, not near anyone again. Eva didn't have many friends. She didn't think many people deserve to be trusted, and to be her friend they must be trusted.

Mrs. Stevens, the science teacher, spoke suddenly to the class.

“Class, we have a new student in science. His name is Alex.” Mrs. Stevens said, with her loud, annoying voice.

A boy walked through the door, wearing a school uniform with black skinny jeans. He walked up to Mrs. Stevens.

“Where do I sit?” Alex asked.

“Sit next to the girl who you think is the prettiest.” Mrs. Stevens said, with a smirk on her face.

Alex turned and faced the class. Eva instantly recognized him, the guy from the park. He looked around, eyes looking at every person in the room at one time. He stopped at Eva, staring at her for longer than everyone else.

He started walking.

He stopped at the desk Eva was at. He sat down in a chair next to Eva.

What does this mean? Eva thought to herself.
