At first the Queen was mean to Ezra. She always complained about how small he was and how he needed to be disciplined. So she changed him.

As Ezra matured he became her favorite. Always by her side, always at her aid. The Queen would brag about his good looks to others and his loyalty to her.

Ezra learned how to act around, he learned to ignore her cold and cruel comments and the horrid way she treated the other servants.

But Ezra could feel himself growing tired and cold with each year that passed. His beast was dormant, and he would wonder if it still even existed.

Ezra was starting to feel numb. . .and it didn't bother him.
