Marisol’s POV- February 2014
I took a spoonful of cake and put it in my mouth and I looked to my left to my cousin who was sitting next to me. He wasn’t looking at me, but at the waves. We were at the beach right now. Yes it was pretty chilly.
“When are you done with school?” I asked.
“June”
I nodded and looked at my cousin.
“And you’re like Film and directing right?” I asked.
He hummed and nodded.
“Well when you finish give me a call” I said.
He smiled and nodded.
“Thanks. That lyric video you got me to do was fun and I’ll think about one for the one you need”
I nodded and he let out a deep breath.
“We’re family…we gotta stick together” I told him.
He took the spoon from me and ate some of the cake.
“So Jake messaged me”
I looked at him.
“What’d you say?” I asked.
“We’re gonna hang when he’s back in LA. We may not be blood related but he was still family”
I smiled.
“It’s for Spring break, where will you be?”
“I will be in the UK. It’s my last day here in the States and I won’t be back till April” I said.
“Oh why?”
“My boys are on tour” I said.
He nodded.
“Playoff tickets” I told him.
He grinned and nodded.
“Of course…all the way in the top though…I like talking with drunk people”
“Got it” I told him.
He smiled and sat up.
“How long have you been clean?” I asked him.
“Going on a year”
I nodded and smiled.
“That’s really good” I told him.
He smiled and nodded.
“Thanks”
“You don’t need help or anything?” I asked.
He shook his head.
“I’m fine”
I nodded and smiled.
“I like it when you smile” I told him.
He laughed lightly and I grabbed his hands.
“I’m serious, if you need help” I started.
“I’m fine, honestly”
I nodded and smiled.
“I saw you have a girlfriend” I told him.
He began blushing and I smiled.
“How’s Bird?”
I laughed.
“We don’t call her that anymore” I said.
“Does she not like her nickname? Why! It’s the best nickname ever”
I laughed and he reached for my phone.
“How is the Bird doing?”
“She is fine, her and Isaac are in the UK right now” I said.
“How was Hawaii? I saw some pictures”
“It was nice, I got a chance to surf and Mike well he’s deadly afraid of sharks now” I said.
He laughed and nodded.
“How’s the divorce going?” I asked.
He shrugged and looked at me.
“Everything should be settled….why must we Rodriguez settle with cheaters?”
“I think it’s a curse. Thankfully my boyfriend is not a cheater” I said.
“Neither is Danni, which is good”
I smiled and he looked at me.
“How are you and Mike doing?”
“Well, really well actually” I said.
He smiled.
“When are you getting married?”
I laughed lightly and looked at the waves. We were at the beach well we weren’t anywhere near the water.
“You know how I am with marriage” I said.
“I know, but you know our parents married young. They were my age and they had a kid already, you’re almost 25 and you’ve been dating him forever”
I nodded slowly.
“I guess…I do want kids with him. I want a life with him” I said.
“You’ve got that”
I looked at him.
“When did you become me?” I said.
He grinned.
“Took a philosophy class for a GE”
I laughed and shook my head. He took a bite of his cake. Yes it was his cake; today was my cousin Brandon’s birthday. He was 21. I know why not beer? He chose cake.
“Dad was a little unsettled when you know we found out your boyfriend was 4 years older than you. Mike was what 23?”
I nodded slowly.
“When we met him though, he helped Isaac and he could have chosen to let him like die of depression Speeds”
I nodded.
“I know” I said.
“Isaac was horribly depressed and well he’s better now”
I sighed and looked at him.
“How is he? Like health wise?”
“Kara handles that. She makes sure he eats and she goes with him to see his doctor and well you know. He’s well though you know you can’t full recover from that” I said.
He nodded.
“He’s making his life, I heard he’s proposing to the bird”
I nodded and looked at him as a smile appeared on my face.
“The ring got here already. B, the ring is beautiful and she’s going to love it” I said.
He smiled.
“I’m glad, it’d be nice to see you guys happy”
“You too Brandon” I told him as I slung an arm around him and pulled him close to me.
“Love you Cousin”
“Love you too Boo” I said.
He just laughed and I smiled as we looked at the bright sky.
“So if Mike were to propose what would you say?”
I looked at him.
“I’d say yes” I said.
“Look at you speeds!”

I have so much to do! I need to clean my room and i need to take my mom to the store because she asked me to. Ugh so much to do, so little time. My room is a mess right now honestly.
