Golden

The fields went on forever.

I stuck my hand out the window and felt the wind pushing it back, leaving it straight as I soared through the air. The sun gently beat down on my face and I opened my eyes to clear blue skies and the golden sunshine and the tall grass zooming beautifully out of my line of sight. I saw the clouds, little puffs, and I saw the wonderful flowers as they peeked happily from the ground, and accepted all the happiness they had to offer. I felt the music in the atmosphere, thrumming through my veins, every chord making my blood rush and my heart flutter. I looked over at the girl next to me and she was so fantastic and amazing and beautiful that I felt my heart tug in my chest. She was smiling towards the sky, her eyes upturned and full of awe, her lips in a content smile. She felt my gaze and as she looked over and met mine her expression softened. I nodded feeling the love too, and even though we knew that our time together was finite, we drove on into an oblivion, hoping to never have to come out.
